  1. The boys read this. They are working hard to improve as well as the coaches. Please do not degrade them. I don't think any of the girl's soccer players could kick the ball any deeper on kick offs. If any band members can help the team, then come on out and play. They will improve and compete. 75% of the team are underclassmen, 14-15 year olds. Some kids that played last year did not play this year but many more kids are playing now last year. Interest in the program is increasing at school. It is a process that will improve over the next few years if they stay the course. Most of the people who post negative things on this board never played anyway. We can compete in 6aaa, it may take another year or two but they will.

Indeed and why pit 1 group against the other. Football is about all of it--everybody that performs that night from the colors, ntl anthem, cheerleaders, band, etc. Everybody has their ability in 1 area or the other and "fall" wouldn't be "fall" without the entire group. As for the kicker, come on, he's trying and is not "bad". Y'all need to quit slurring the kids. Kids are kids and they may say stuff like that but adults need to be adults.

  2. OMG!!!!!!!! You don't know who the greatest running back in high school history is?????? He was coached by the greatest high school coach,BOBBY NEWBY!!!! These are the standards to which all coaches and players are to compare themselves to.

You should bow at the names of these heroes and know that football in WC will never compare to that era. :roflol:

Whatever!!! sounds like an Elvis story to me. The King is gone but Rock and Roll lives on!!!

  3. That's the problem with Warren County in general not just in athletics, a bunch of old people that want to hang on to the past and not let the young people of today grow and develop. Why do you think over half of our graduating seniors leave town for college and never come back and the only people that move into town are retired. WC is stuck in the past. All the old guys are jealous and it seems they don't want anyone to beat their records, that and too many paople with their own agendas as assistant coaches or school board members intertere with the coaching staff wanting their kid to start. That 74 team was 36 years ago some of the players on todays team didn't even have parents born then. Quit hanging on to the past, you had your time and let the youth of today flourish.

Aint that the truth!!! It's futile it seems to think it will ever change but we can only hope. I think it is sad that ppl don't want to see our boys do as well, even better than the past. If they hung on to the past with NFL teams the way they do with our highschool team there wouldn't be any need to continue watching. I hate to say it cause it'll get me slammed but who is Jeff??? Don't remember him nor all the past that ppl are hanging on to. Of course I've heard the stories but guess what, stories are all that's left--I doubt any of our current boys have any first hand knowledge of the past. I go to see the 2011 team play, last year I went to see the 2010 team and so on. Same with our team, it's not back to the future here they are playing for the day not yesterday!

  4. 1. Who's the big time player not getting a chance this year? WC don't appear to have a "big time" player.

    2. Whyaswhy is complaining because there's a 1A and a 2A on the schedule and you're complaining because WC scrimmaged "the man" and got beat up. Who are they supposed to play/scrimmage?

I think you missed the point. We may not have any big time players but you gotta pick something and stick with it long enough to get the ball down the field. Everybody keeps talking about building--you can't start building and everytime something looks a little better or messes up a little tear it apart and start over--esp at game time. And you can't be for real if you think it was a good move to scrimmage a team completely outa our league---I think the end result answers that question.

  5. As I stated last year on this site, the Pioneers have very few offensive weapons since they graduated 95% of their offense. They have very little playmaking ability. Defensively they struggle to get stops. They will continue to struggle for years to come. They can put 100+ on the sideline. If you dont have players who can make bigtime plays then it is hard to score or get stops. Not knocking any young man out there busting his tail. The last senior class had some of those type kids and still only got 3 wins their Sr year.

WC has went out searching for wins on this years schedule including Moore Co.(A) and Smith Co.(AA). The basketball teams did this last year. Find the Monterey,Watertown,Moore Co type schools and try to pad the win total. The problem with this is when those school beat you it truly shows everyone where the program is. Searching for wins isnt the answer.

WC has been over 2 decades since a winning team has been put on the field at Nunley stadium. We keep building, rebuilding, retooling, and reloading. No one ever really addresses the problem which IMO lies at how our whole school system is setup. The county school system is a joke when it comes to building athletic teams at a higher level. We are a 6A football team that is run like a single A program. It isnt the AD's fault, the principals fault, coaches fault, or players fault. It is the fault of Warren County citizen who for some reason tried to hold onto some 1940 philosphy about their county school and all the great thing that were done in it back in the days of WWI, WWII all the way up to current day not realizing other places have passed us by long ago. Those new county facilities will be nice. The students will continue to test low in them(Warren County is one of eight school districts in the state on the current watch list by the state for those who didnt know). The athletes will continue to be behind. But hey for 15-20 million dollars for facilities what do you expect. Ever thought of maybe having 3 big middle schools and 2 highschools. Ever think our system is flawed. Ever think doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the correct way. Ever think those county schools should be history not the current way. Good luck to the Pioneers in the coming weeks. Maybe the people who support you at Nunley Stadium will one day look forward not back in time.

Well said but big time players don't really get a chance here. 1 goes in for 1 play he's pulled out and another put in. It seems as though those that prove they can do something have to keep proving it while they continue to "look" for something better. IMO we do entirely too much of that in a game. The boys never get a feeling for where they are---as soon as they get in the groove of what the other team is up to they are pulled out not so we can try something new. No so we can try the same thing with a different person. Trying to beat the man ended up getting a major portion of our boys hurt so that we were on the bottom before we ever got started this year. Our players need support from the community--it isn't their fault that the system is flawed but every year they pay the price.

  6. I will second every bit of that!!! It is sad. I am so confused as to why it has to be this way. Was hoping it was just a lot of negative under current last year but when I sat with a new crowd Friday night and the general talk was this is the same thing as last year--DO SOMETHING new my heart sank for the boys.

Since, some people cannot handle criticism without sticking a label on those they disagree with in an attempt to dismiss their observations or to denegrate them personally: A look a labels:

"Hater" - No. "Financial contributer" - Yes. "Supporter" - Yes. "Attendee" - Yes. "Disappointed" - Yes. "Disgusted" - Yes. But "Hater" - certainly not. Oh, "Biting Sarcasm" - Yes. You can also add things like "a sense of pity" for what could be a potentially great program in not just football but every sport but sadly is not year in and year out. Why?????

  7. It is this way just about everywhere you go. Downing the coaching staff and pointing fingers at other kids. And you can bet not one poster will confront a coach or talk to other players parents. One thing is simple and needs to be understood. You need to support your coaching staff ( like them or not ). And most importantly you need to support the players even if your kid is not a starter. It is all about RESPECT for the team. In reallity I would like to see some of these posters from anywhere in football land coach a game or 2. And would really like to know how good you were when you played. If you even played at all.

Couldn't have said it better. Our poor coaches don't have a chance. There is so much ego on here that I'd hate to be them having to deal with it. I don't think the posters see what they say looks like pure ego and ignorance. If they wanted to win they would shut up and let the coaches coach and be happy for the coaches that they have the experience they have. But no they have to be like a bunch of girls saying well he thinks he's somebody cause he played for so and so but look he can't coach. Thats why I said I'd like to see this imaginary team they all speak of on here---the 1 from Oz that they all played on. I support the coaches if for nothing else putting up with all the bologna they deal with.

  8. They had 2nd and 3rd string in when the other qb "moved" the ball down the field. All the qb's are great kids/athletes and are only human and will make mistakes. I just feel sorry for ALL the players that have to put up with "their" parents, family members or friends of the family putting all these comments on here about these young men that play for the "so-called" pioneer fans that put them down every day. Support ALL the players. Grow up!! Maybe if "we" showed support and let the coaches coach things would not be as bad. I hope the best for all the present and future players!!!

Just to make myself clear—I totally support the kids on this team. I do not support the people that talk negative about kids period. I have not made any negative remarks about any player on this board ever. I did state the facts about the ball moving and it does not matter if we were playing against the waterboy(which somebody said we did in the Franklin and Tullahoma games)—the ball moved. You however seemed to feel it necessary to point that we were playing against 2nd and 3rd string not sure why that matters since we have played against 2nd and 3rd string all season. People on here and public blamed the Jr QB for the loss of Coffee and Shelbyville---I haven’t seen him play until those few minutes the other night then ppl start negative talk. I just don’t get what the deal is. It seems to be personal issues to me because I haven’t seen any good reason for any of the negative talk on here about any of the players---the Jr QB, Northcutt, Robinson,Thrower—any of them yall talk smack about. There is not a logical reason for it! I do support these kids or I wouldn't bother going to the games!

  9. Agreed on the drama! Some of you at Warren should feel like heroes talking about a bunch of young men that have layed it on the line for your program. Why dont some of you look at the work you could do in your own lives that would pay off. Whether it be your marriage, work, health, or whatever. I am NOT excluding myself in this at all!!! We ALL could do things to improve our well being!

Nitro. Dont see any takers yet. Lets give em another offer. Ok, all you little ones pair and you biggens get in line!!!! Nitro wins 21-0. Eagles 45-21.

Couldn't agree with you more---lots of negative vibes going and our team is measured on terms of NFL.

  10. So other than the Sr. back at QB who are the other current starters that didn't start earlier? The Sr. QB replaced a Jr. QB. The freshman never started. The freshmen and sophomores that started the beginning of the season are still starting. Actually two more underclassmen are starting. You have a Soph. at CB and a FR at Wr that took those spots when the SR moved back to QB.

Indeed the Soph replaced the Jr and it was no better nor was replacing the Jr. with the Sr. so lets see that makes it seem that the QB never was the problem. Hum whats up with that? why all the opinions there?? Everybody on here said after the Coffee and Shelbyville game it was the QB then after all that got changed around it still got no better. So to quote Ven Gosdin who you gonna blame it on this time???

  11. Glad to see we're catching these guys in crisis mode.

No offense but it's not really crisis mode it's just WARREN CO. mode---doesn't matter who or when this is the same stuff you read on here all the time. You mean it's not that way in every county??? Yall don't slam the coaches and say if my kid was in or if my neighbors kid was in it would have went down this way. Seriously I'd love to see these boys pull a team of their ppl together and watch that game. I know it would be AWSOME!!!

  12. WC I have been saying this for the past 2 months over and over on this board. This senior class was as good talent wise as WC has had or will have in the next 5 yrs. No questions about this from anyone that know the history of Pioneer football. Northcutt will go down as a top 5 RB all time at WC. Robinson committed to D-1 school, thrower can play as well as Glenn, Martin, Harris, etc. As I said multiple times before who replaces these guys and make the team in the future better. I dont see it happening in a way that makes the program better. This isnt about having anyones back or taking sides IMO it is about the fact that WC football needs playmakers and athletes to be better as a team. In this community those difference makers are either not playing or not here in the school. The senior class record speaks for itself if you consider the whole body of work freshman all the way to friday. Still it couldnt break a string of 20 plus years of losing season. I just cant see with what is left on the field and on the sidelines that streak being broke in the next 5 years. You can preach middle school wins and program building etc all you want but that has been preached before but to no avail when it comes to winning highschool football games in a very weak district. Warren County plays 6A football with a system setup like a 2A-3A program. 1 middle school plus 6 outlying county schools will not work. It hasnt for 20 years. 40 players wont cut it at 6A. Hasnt for 20 years. Didnt cut it at 5A. No job creating wont cut it because no new families move to Warren County. You are stuck everyyear with same group of kids busting their butts that need more classmates to play and new classmates to move to community. When is last time a family told anyone they moved here because of athletics. Many have moved away because of it(lack of it). The cycle will not change if you dont change it. It is so much bigger than a Head Coach. Many of those over the past 20yrs and still no winning seasons. I believe what Madewell done with the program was truly remarkable considering all factor put in the equation. Good luck to upcoming Pioneer players and keep working hard. Maybe one day community will work with you to help reach your goals by changing the way it is done because now it doesnt. Hasnt for 20 years.

Disclaimer: I do not have a child on the team and you all have made it obvious that this is a board to comment on how well MY KID is or the 1 kid I want to root for. I AM A MERE SPECTATOR! Warren is not behind it’s team it’s behind who they like period and if a kid has a parent that another doesn’t like well then that kid shouldn’t be playing or starting for sure---Now anybody can read what yall write and deduce that! I want to comment on what’s been said so far. If we played the starters we have now we would have had a better season---ok have you been watching these games or do you just not recall how it all went down?? Dekalb , Coffee and Shelbyville are the only games this didn’t happen. Dekalb we won, Shelbyville we lost but not near as bad as we did to Franklin and I’d like to add Shelbyville has kicked butt this season and no way we could beat them even if our coaches played! Coffee was the most messed up case I’ve ever seen. They tried everything in that game the QB threw 1 pik and got pulled and replaced by a QB that threw 4 piks???? And everybody tooted their horns on that. Then the White Co game we won and SORRY folks but only on a technicality---We really didn’t win that game. From then on it’s been the same thing every week and yall get on here and toot and complain and praise this 1 and blame that 1. Get over yourselves!! You are adults and your days are over---quit trying to re-live your days thru these kids. Friday night I know I was not the only person to see it. The last 7 minutes of the game that kid moved the ball ½ the distance in about 2 minutes of play that it took us 3 quarter to move the ball—I think the paper said 80ish yards in the 1st 3 qtrs and 40’s in the last. I don’t understand where yall are coming from---do you want us to win or do you just want to brag about what you see but nobody else sees? Yes people see that this is not the place to bring their kids for athletics—who would want their kid in that mess of my kids better and deserves to play and couldn’t push a flea down(just an example of how yall don’t see this mess). It’s obvious to others on here how messed up it is—just look at what White Co had to say and now Rhea Co sees it. Take the blinders off.

  13. I think the coaches have done everything they could to keep this pioneer ship upright but I think with the lack of senior leadership (only 3-4 seniors care) and all the outside influence by parents and fans that the ship is taking on water to fast to save it.

    .

The season is shot. How much pride they have remains to be seen!

For what it's worth here's an opinion. I think that a true player is a player because of his respect for the game, school, community and PARENTS. The true player therefore is not being influenced by a negative parent. The true player has supportive parent/family/friends that support them and the TEAM! And you have established in your post that the coaches are doing their part. My opnion: Support the boys, quit kicking them down and move this team ahead! I don't have a kid on this team but I have been on teams myself and know that as a kid it doesn't take much to make your spirit drop. Some of these kids are working hard and scared to death they are going let the people that count on them down and be talked about horribly. They were never allowed to make any mistakes to learn from---each mistake has been analyzed publically and very critically. Step back and say is this the first time or is there a pattern---if so then maybe it should be looked at. I don't know about you but if I had multiple bosses changing things up on me I'd be a little frustrated. They have new coaches, they have new blood on the team, they have new people complaining about this and that. They are 16 and 17 years old. We can't expect them to sort it all out and be perfect in the end. Seriously I don't think they take all they take just to look pretty and be talked about.

  14. govols101, I must agree with several other posters, you are an idiot. I guess you were not a player since your 3 friends got a D1 scholly but you did not! Since you were not a player by your definition, how can you judge these other kids. I think any kid who starts practice the first of June, gives his all through out the summer, all the daily practices, is a player even if he never gets to suit up for varsity.

Thank you for giving respect to those that give it their all!!! Speaking of these offers did you happen to watch 60 minutes last night??? How about that--- no offers there either but he went to the super bowl.

  15. I base calling someone a player by scholarship offers. I played with 3 guys who went d1. So IMO a SENIOR with no offers is not a player!

Ok you played with 3 that went d1---are you from Warren Co. cause now I'm confused. Your comments do not make a lot of sense. You've picked out Northcutt to pick on so mayb your our competition and not a Pioneer fan????

  16. He is about as much as a player as # 12 the backup QB. You arnt a player if you have fumbled twice in the last 3 games. If you want to see a REAL RB go watch Devrin Young. Playing hard doesn't make you a player ether.

Welp there you go. Guess we'll see you suited up to play in Northcutts place next week. And as for the microscope--lets don't go there with fumbles cause there was a lot more than fumbling going on. BUT again they are kids and in my opinion love of the game and playing hard does make you a player. But for the sake of argument lets hear what you call a player.

  17. With all due respect to the people of Warren County football but I will ask a couple of questions that I think will have to be addresses over the coming months in the program. How is the program of Warren County football better today than it was this time last year. Also how will WC replace the Senior playmakers that litter the field on Friday nights when they leave the program in 5 games. This group of Seniors have been as successful as any other seniors class that has walked the halls at WC minus 3 or 4 since the beginning of Warren County highschool. I just see trouble on the horizon for the Pioneer program. The talent pool that is drawn from doesnt seem to have players to upgrade the graduating young men. What make this team better next year and years to come? I know I will read responses of how players will know the system better and kids will be in weightroom and older more mature. Coaches will also know athletes and talent better. With that being said who replaces a senior backfield that has accounted for most if not all the TDS scored by WC. I also know I will read how the middleschool program is winning and better than in the past, how the younger leagues are stronger today than in the past plus the school and community now will support the program better. I also know I heard those things about 5years ago when this senior group was growing up through the youth ranks through the middleschool. Also this community supports the WC football program as well if not better than most of the teams we play. I say this because after 20 years of no winning seasons and multitude of excuses and reasons of why we struggle winning and being competitive I just dont see the type of athletes in the pipeline to replace a group of seniors that have plenty of difference makers and havent proved it time and time again over the last 3-4 years. I will also say the group of Freshmen that roam the sidelines tonight are not as talented as the group of Seniors were when they were Freshmen. The 2010-2011 Seniors have followed the path of success through all levels in WC right up until it was time to make the leap to winning program at the highschool level. They have done all that has been asked, but couldnt get to a level they thought they could as a group. I am not knocking them and hope anyone who reads this understands this. My question to all those in WC is how can WC be successful if a group of very talented Seniors who have been groomed to do so struggle mightily to win what happens when the athletes and talent is not as talented or athletic. I wish this group of Seniors much luck over the next 5 games. You have done many good things over your careers. I hope all those players on the sidelines stay healthy over the coming months. I also hope youngmen can step up and in to replace that group in the coming years. Personally IMO I just dont see it happening in a way that brings wins to the Pioneers.

Well you bring it up so here goes an opinion. These coaches I believe have the ability but they have been brought to 1 of the most political back biting hick towns in the universe. I was born and raised here and I mean no harm but I sat in the stands last night. I heard it all. Lets quit this my kids better bull and let the coaches get some groove. If they would pick a game plan and stick with it we have the talent. The first game was good and we've gone down hill ever since. Wonder why??? our paper slammed the kids like NFL regects---seriously and this board lit up with "well if they had played X at QB or Z at WR etc" and "if I was the coach" every place you go you hear how they could do it better. Well I think mayb the coaches are giving everybody what they want. Letting yall see how it works when done your way. PASSDABALL----if you're out there your last comment floored me. You are the 1 praising our coaches for the "youth movement" then slam Tullahoma for playing 2nd, 3rd, 4th string, and yes the water boy. Pick an approach and stick with it. I have said it before and will say it again---we have to support our team!!! the TEAM and let the coaches get it together. My thoughts were mayb since we beat White everybody was praising our new Offense (which aint so new) that they thought we could pull it off with a team of well refined players. NOT!! We played an equal team at White and struggled so that should never have been a thought. Now for my final point: Northcutt is AWSOME and anybody that picks out his flaws or fumbles can play next week in his place. He has the heart of a player. He loves the game. (I don't know the kid personally only watching games) He puts every inch of his legs into running that ball and takes what ever tackle he gets hit with and bounces right back to run that ball. We had kids on the sideline last night that love the game and are AWSOME players but due to all the negative talk and microscopes that WC pulls out have to stand on the sidelines while we get our tails KICKED. Our paper and wonderful spectators here in this area slam every little mistake a KID makes and discuss them in such a negative way that there mentality goes to the dogs and they lose that LOVE for the game. WE HAVE TO SUPPORT THEM!!! When your kids were little and they fell down did you say well you shouldn't have been walking? No you said it's ok we learn by mistakes get up and walk again. We need to take our team and say we are behind you and we will win this and quit this bull of the coaches make too much money, this 1 fumbled, that 1 threw and interception(now I mean when it's 1 not 10) etc. We have the talent we just need to feed it and quit starving it out on the sidelines. You asked I answered and yes I'm ready to hear: What politics?--answer if you are from here you really can't ask that question and mean it!!! Politics means more than political it means who mooches the best! White county said it last week. Warren is self destructive. Sad but true it seems!

  18. Breakout game? Are you kidding me. He made what, two tackles. You just barely beat a bunch of freshmen and sophmores. I talked to some of the o line after the game and they said they wished that they could go against Robinson every week, he was one of the softest linemen they have faced so far this year. I'll say this, if he is a d-1 prospect, there were about 25 others on the same feild.

So are you saying Sparta was playing mostly their JV team? It was a close game all night. Northcutt saved Warren for sure.

  19. The main difference I see in this game is in the offensive.

Sparkman is pretty solid and settled, Thrower has been moved back and regardless of the amount of time you have practiced he will still have some rust. ADV White Co.

White County has some decent backs and sparkman can run, but Warren Co. has Northcutt and Thrower in tow. ADV Warren Co.

The Receivers from both teams are about the same. PUSH.

The OL for White is young and inexperienced. The OL for Warren has the best player. Neither Team has been dominant. Slight ADV Warren. Co

    Offensive Advantage Warren Co.

Defensively its hard to judge. Both teams have been blown out, and both teams have held a common team to a low score. Push

Overall I think that Warren Co. Has a slight advantage and they should win by 4-9pts.

Hope your right would love to see the guys win!

  20. White Co. is focused on the game. Anything that we have to say will be said on the feild Friday night. It's just enertaining to sit and watch you guys self destruct on a site that has no bering on your games or your team as a whole. Good luck to you and your team, You're going to need it.

    My point exactly!

  21. Won't change white countys plans.....he wasn't going to play anyway.

Knock the chip off your shoulder dude. My comment had nothing to do with the Jr. playing. It had to do with all the talk about where the weakness was. At this point I would be willing to say all those that the Ps will play know our problems don't rest on the QB--never did. But only those that go to the game and watch the ENTIRE game and not focus on putting blame on 1 position know that. I don't have a kid in this game which translates to I don't have a kid competing for the QB position or breaking down on the line so I can look at this with open eyes!

  22. sounds like thrower will be the only QB this. I heard at school today that the " JR " qb got in some trouble and won't be traveling with the team this week. I think he was to scared and was looking at the d-line instead of looking down field and trying to move around and make plays.

It's odd that this post has turned into a what wrong with warren county and not about the game. white county fans are awful quite this week.

OH really so what kind of trouble did this kid get into. If I recall people were bashing another player once too on here trying to make him into something using those terms so when you say "trouble" just what kind of trouble? We really need to be more clear when speaking about our teens. Again I believe people on here are to free to talk smack about kids. Again, they are kids not grown ups. Maybe I can anticipate reading it in the paper. Poor guys they have so many people to please! Ever think mayb White is just listening to yall and making their game plan???

  23. GO PIONEERS!! GO TEAM !! GO EACH AND EVERY KID ON THE TEAM!!

Momma always said if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything at all so I am stopping here and maybe some of you should also ....

    GO PIONEERS!

Well my point exactly---these are kids and people are talking like they are pros getting a paycheck. Let them be kids!! It's a lot of pressure to put on kids to have adults running them down all over the place. Kids in school today won't get anything out of what happens here 4 years from now. We as a county need to be behind OUR kids!!! and that means growing our current SR players too! They don't deserve to be given up on NONE of them!
