Well I don't think race had anything to do with the way Trezevant played. It was clearly a lack of discipline that started with the coaching staff. It was a shame and a sad end to a good year for the Trezevant team. I think to say they came out with "swagger " is a stretch on your part. You want to see a good example of "swagger" then watch the Steelers on most Sundays. Now that's "swagger" at its best. Not dirty but in your face football.

I'm not sure how many other students needed help and didn't receive it. Im sure there were a few, but we are talking about a student athlete that did receive help. Coincidence. Definitely not. The coach saw a need in one of his players and was able to help him. Good for him. It sounds like it worked out for the student. Coaches and players form a bond between eachother. Its a special relationship that unless you actually played you can't comprehend it. Its a respect thing. I'm sure that I'm not going to change your mind, but just trying to offer another opinion to this discussion. I'm not an Alcoa fan. Just an admirer of a great program. If your right in the wrong doing of this program, I am sure the TSSAA will bring down the hammer on them. Funny how they have won 7 in a row and no official inquiries have started. Makes you think that maybe, just maybe, they are legit. Just saying.

So the coach took in a student that was having academic problems on the request of the students mother. Is that what your saying? The student got an offer from UT, but was academically ineligible and he went to a JUCO to get his grades up. Sounds like he got a college education and was able to make something out of his life. It sounds like the coach did an awesome job in getting the student into college. Good for the student for making a better life for himself and the coach went above and beyond his duties as a coach. The great coach's usually do make a life changing difference in their players.

I think the OOZ players should make Alcoa a private school or Division II but that's my opinion. They don't have to recruit because of this. I think alot goes on behind the scenes, but no more here than any other powerhouse. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that some ooz players fees had been waved. I'm not accusing and not trying to start any rumors. Good luck to Alcoa in the future and your quest for 8 in a row.

Well I don't know alot about Trezevant other than what I witnessed in the championship game. I'm not sure if their actions were typical or just frustrations or nerves. If their actions were typical and have been reported before then I think there should have been more done. Especially towards the head coach and AD.

Congratulations to Don Thomas. A great hire. We also have a new offensive coordinator. Thomas Osteen from Giles has joined the Falcons. He is a former Falcon player (2003). Good to have him back.

My information came straight from the horse's mouth. It is not hearsay. He said it on your radio station. He said it on our radio station. He told your principal and players. I hate to hear of Aaron's latest problems. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for him. Doesn't appear Dooley is such a horse's butt afterall.

You don't have to agree with me, but these are facts not opinions. He did leave GC to come to LC. He told Hastings he rsesigned. He told his players he was gone and was announced as LC's next head coach.He said that this (LC job) was his dream job. It was Fayetteville City school board that voted to add a city high school and not LC school system. We already have a high school. I believe he is where he wants to be due to this vote. This is not a dig at GC. LC is where he's from. He was coming home, but he decided to stay put. Good for him. As far as O'Connor turning down another job offer. I wouldn't be surprised if he's turn down a lot of job offers. Good coaches get offers all the time. O'Connor is a good coach. Good luck to the Bobcats.

I don't have a "horse" in this race, but I agree with ironhorse. You need to have a balanced attack and you need to be ready for whatever. Good luck next year.

Unfortunately for Greenville they scheduled Alcoa. So they will have to take this beating and find out where they are and how far they have to go to get there. Greenville beating Alcoa....stranger things have happened and I agree with you. That's why they actually play these games. I hope my team has an open date. Would love to see this game. I haven't heard anything official but the rumors are saying that he's entering the draft. Maybe one of the Alcoa posters can shed light on this question.

I'm a UT fan, but it would be hard to argue against Cobb being the best player at the UT/UK game. I read the post and the on going argument. I would say Cobb was the best player at the game but Moore had the better game.

Alcoa beats Greenville this year, next year, ten years ago and ten years from now. Don't care who you play until then. Put a loss in the column when you play Alcoa.

Well I believe UT recruited Cobb hard. They told him that they didn't think he was a college QB. They wanted him for his athleticism and would make him a WR or a return man. UK offered him a chance to play QB and that's actually what he wanted.UK tried him at QB and then made him a WR and return man. Hmmm looks like UT had his talent right. UT loses quite a few in state players due to numerous reason. The young men don't want to be red shifted. They don't want to change positions. UT has to recruit their needs also and sometimes a player doesn't fit into that need. I think Cobb enters the draft. I would love to see this young man come back but don't blame him for leaving early. Too much at stake for him. I also don't think Cobb is the best in the SEC. He is a great player, but Cam Newton was the best in the SEC and in all of college football. 2500+ passing yds, 1400+ rushing yds, 42 receiving yds and 49 total tds. Hard to argue against the facts.

Time will tell, but I believe he will regret the move.

Well we all started with one so lets not get all high and mighty because you are not a newbie. When I first started posting a Guy with 2000+ post chimed in with this crap. Sorry it just rubs me wrong I guess. With that being said, I personally think you have got a great coach who is happy where he's at. His dream job came open. He had a chance to come home and coach where he played and learned the game. Due to unforeseen circumstances he decided to stay put. I doubt another job comes up that will excite him like the LC job for quite some time. Face the facts. If you have a winning coach, people are going to try and entice him to come to their school. That's a good problem to have. Its when no one wants your coach that you have serious problems. An. 825 winning percentage will get you noticed. I don't know Mr. Hastings personally but he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Lets see, he could have not let O'Connor come back and start from scratch or let a coach with a. 825 winning percentage come back. Seems like a "no brainer" to me. Not all coaches are Joe Paterno's. He will eventually leave. Enjoy the ride.
