  1. Although in any normal circumstance, I would root for East over Sevier, for the sake of our conference title hopes, we need a win from Sevier and a loss from West. Otherwise it's a three way tie. I think it could really be an interesting game. Although I have no personal knowledge of Ricker's injury, Thompson did just fine against us last week as did Ricker. I would guess that the backfield will be unchanged, although of course I could be wrong. I think the matchup between East and Sevier is definitely an interesting one featuring two very explosive offenses. I hate to give a score prediction because they are so often inacurate, but i would have to go with Sevier, 31-21. Nothing against East, I respect them much more than the Bears, we just could really use a Sevier win for our team.
  2. Even though we still have a 2-3 record, we remain at the top of the IMAC at 2-0. The 0-3 non-conference record means absolutely nothing if we can win out and continue to win in conference play. The bye week will help some of our injured athletes become healthy and to work on improving the little things that hurt us against Seymour (Penalties). Although it's easy to just blame it all on the officials, the bottom line is that they were still called, and we still had to move the ball back a few yards. Defense really delivered when they needed to on Seymour's last drive. Before that drive, Seymour's only first down came off of a personal foul call on a dispute with a fumble. Easy to overlook, a struggling Cocke County team awaits the Patriots in Newport the week after next. Although JC has dominated in recent years, CCHS would just love to be the team that spoils the conference run for us.

  4. Out of those 20 penalties, how many were illegal procedure calls? Did the officials even know what that call meant? Junior backups Trey Dodson and Evan McFall both ran the ball well, considering DK's absence and Goins' limited offensive action.
