  1. Sevier County runs a 4 wide offense and a 4-3 defense. The offense is started by their QB Danny Chastain. He is very good athlete and has proven to beat teams with his legs and his arm. Very shifty also. His favorite recievers are Bryant Gilson, Dillon Cate, and Brett Pippin. They catch most everything that comes there way and they make plays. The O-line has been the biggest ? the whole year with starting two sophomores. They have proven themselves the last couple of weeks. There running backs are Dakota Cogdill and Bubba Floyd. Both run hard. They dont have break away speed but both are averging over 5 yards a carry. There D is where they rely. The Sevier County Defense starts up front with TJ Hamilton, Ronnie Homerding, Jake Reppert, and John Berry, all are athletes and they all make plays. Easily the best D front i have seen all year long. The linebacker corp has been hit by the injury bug but they have one familar face with 3yr starter Dakota Cogdill. He is the leader of the LB's. He's accompanied by Zac Lewis who has shown improvement as well as Floyd. and Dillon Cate who has stepped up in the role of playing LB. The corners have been shut down when the QB has time to throw it. Josh Johnson leads Prepxtra with 5 INTS and Brett Pippin is the best athlete on the team. The safeties are Tyler Wischer and Bryant Gilson. they just do whats asked of them. Mark Packer said on their TV game the defense lays the wood and thats something they pride themselves on. They try to be the best defense around. Tell us more on Farragut.
  2. I guess this shows why Sevier County is the number one defense in the conference. 41 plays for 42 yards. that is ridiculous. No matter what the IMAC decides to do. TSSAA states in a 3 way tie best record is Conference Champion so as the boys were saying tonight. Its great to be Repeat IMAC Champs!!
  3. Sevier County has only let 1 team score more than once since the Mo West game. The last 7 put up by Cherokee and the 7 by South Doyle was on the reserves. SC defense is better than credited. Also, if there is a 3 way tie SC will be district champs due to a better overall record.
  4. What is everyones take on the game? This is a big game for the IMAC championship. Is Cody Ricker moving back to quarterback or is he still going to be at running back for this weeks game?
  5. This player was more than likely Dakota Cogdill. He's a senior leader that has started for three years now. The Bears defense is physical this year with D-Linemen Jake Reppert, Ronnie Homerding, John Berry and TJ Hamilton, and the newcomer playing linebacker in Brad Mason. They lost their most physical Safety in Tyler Wischer last game for rest of the season. Last Friday agaisnt Jeff Co., the bears was playing to go to 3-0 and Jeff was playing for their season. Many mistakes by Sevier Co. will be worked out this week in practice. Coach Brewer will have his team prepared.
  6. Which teams do Maryville, Alcoa, Webb and Fulton get to spank in State Championship this year? East Tennessee football ROCKS!!!!!!!!
  7. Halls at Sevier County. Bears may be loaded with Chastain, Gilson, Cogdill, Reppert and D-Line.
  8. Bears came out and looked great in all facets of the game. QB threw sharp passes to wide open receivers, RB's hit holes hard and ran well and 1st team D gave up one first down. Don't know if William Blount just got jumped on early or if Bears are that good but it was great to be wearing purple. Looked like you guys lost a heartbreaker. Hope you take frustration out in 2 weeks instead of this one. Did you all come out pretty healthy?
  9. I really hate to hear about #44. I hope God blesses him and his family and he heals quick. I read somewhere Goins didn't have many touches is this true? Did Greeneville pass or throw with more success?
  10. You know its kind of funny that nobody picked the defending undefeated IMAC Champion Sevier County Smoky Bears to repeat. I do realize its the beginning of a new season and everyone has high hopes for their favorite team, but someone even picked them third. After week 0 there are still some unanswered questions: Is Greenville that good or is Jeff Co that bad. Maybe it might even be a little of both? The same thing applies for Sevier County. They were near perfection last Friday and totally dominant, but was William Blount really that unprepared? What about Mo West and AE? The conference picture will be more visible after week 3 when the Bears visit the Patriots. This weeks matchup for Jeff Co. will be no indication of how they will play in conference. Dont get me wrong I hope the Pats win. I think it would be great for a Jeff Co. team that is hungry for that big momentum victory and it would only help bring more respect for the IMAC. I love my Smoky Bears, but I was pulling for Jeff Co big time last Friday and so was almost everyone in Sevierville. We should always root for our conference teams in non-con play. If we take care of business on the field then the other teams records don't matter! I do have a question for Jeff Co. fans and please take this in the spirit it was intended. This is not a slap but I am truly curious how u feel. Your head coach named about 15-20 players in Murpy-Fair as players to watch. Thats fine and great. The problem and question i have is he listed all of them as D1 prospects. East TN teams are lucky to have 1 possible D1 prospect everyone knows all those kids are not at that level. I hope they all go on to the next level but which kids r truly capable and at what level. You all are apparently better judges of true talent than your head coach, because if that guy took that many D1 players to Greenville and lost then the honored tradition of Jeff Co football is in sad hands. Best of luck to all IMAC teams I hope and wish all a safe and succesful season. I just can't help but hope u all lose 1 to the Bears. Go Jeff beat Bearden!!! Go Smoky Bears keep rollin and beat Halls!!!!!
  11. the scrimmage only went 40 plays before it got rained out. science hill showed up about an hour late and we went in a ten play sequences. science hill has a big line and some athletes, but some mistakes hurt them. Sevier county got beat on a passing route once because of a linebacker mistake, with work though they'll get better. there is only one LB returning with serious playing time. Sevier county moved the ball quite well but stalled out later on in the 10 play sequences. Not much can be said because it got rained out so early. Sorry
  12. Sevier county will be hosting Science Hill today at SCHS in a spring game. details later to come.
