The word around the county is that Coach Junkins has been relieved of his coaching duties as girls basketball coach at Harpeth High School. Is this the truth? If so, why? They are bound to have won over fifty games in the last two years. What's up? Anyone know the scoop?

The Showtime Shootout is this weekend in Shelbyville. Which teams are going to be there? Which age groups? Who are the powerhouses? Who's going to struggle?

Maybe the ballots for Mr. Basketball from the Memphis area were turned in with the same regularity as the scores get reported to the Coacht scoreboard from that area.

I believe Coach Shockley was at Warren County, not White County. I could be wrong. Now, I would like to see Coach Thompson and Coach Shockley in a debate about which one of them is the best coach.

Coach Thompson may not out coach you, but I'll bet he can out talk you.

LA made great strides this year. They looked like an 'also ran' team last summer at camps, but got much better as the year went along. Coach Smith did an outstanding coaching job to get them as far as they did in the tournaments. Ashley Mathews is a 'player'.

When freshmen come in and start or get a large amount of playing time in AAA schools, it's usually one of three situations. The freshmen are very, very good. The upperclassmen are not so good. Or it's a combination of the two. The late Al McGuire once said, "The best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores."

I understand the 16U state tournament is in Cookeville this year. This is an opportunity for jimbo44 to up his total quickly.

I'll bet we could get better information out of Cottage Grove than from Palmersville.

Where do you think Powell would have finished in Region5AAA this year in among Wilson Central, Smyrna, Mt. Juliet, Dickson County, Hendersonville, Northeast, and Beech?

No doubt Wilson will be very good. They will be the favorite. Shelbyville will be better next year......addition by subtraction.

More and more the college atmosphere, rules, and jargon have filtered down to the hjgh school level. Is Tyler a fifth year senior? Is Daddy an agent? Should Tyler Smith even be a topic on this for board? I think it is for Tennessee High Sports. Is Tyler Smith in high school? Is Tyler Smith in Tennessee?

I thought the Warren County program was abused for weeks before the thread was finally closed. Does someone have to report a thread to get it closed?

It's on television. You can see it. Most TV people talk too much anyway. Now if I were visually impaired I could have really been screwed up trying figure out what was going on out on the court.

Plaster was probably going to do the game with Drew, but he's been sick. Plaster and Drew did the AAA Girls last week. Give Mark a break. He's a good guy.
