Impressive to me that y’all think you know so much about Hampton, enough to say that Hampton will get beat by 20 and/or 14, but would say Hampton would score 14. Y’all know nothing because the only way Hampton is scoring 14 is with 2 touchdowns, missing BOTH 2 pt conversions and then getting a safety. Hampton doesn’t have an extremely reliable kicker. Hardworking kid anyway, but he’s just not there yet. And I doubt Michael lets him kick in the toughest game of the season. The trust isn’t there yet.

     Y’all talk outta your behinds!

    Hampton 24

    York 22

That's the fun thing about these boards WE CAN talk out of our behinds ifin we won't to.LOL.GO DAWGS!

I just ordered them and didn't say anything.  I've never seen an official check cleats before a game in my life either as a player or when I coached.

I have heard of it done but never witnessed it.We put 3/4s on my son's when he played no one complained but it didn't help up at Cloudland in that mess, still won but UGLY.

Just too many things can happen in a football game, the better team don't always win. Bounce here ,bounce there ,penalties ,turnovers.  Team with the fewest mistakes has a good shot unless the other team is just much better.

Whitwell 2018.South Pitt and Greenback both were better top to bottom but Whitwell was just a Destiny team that year!

    Extree credit:

When was the last time a school got to host another school in the semifinals after losing the regular season matchup in the same year?

McKenzie would host Dresden if both win their respective quarterfinal.

Has this scenario ever played out?

    Trivia.

Would OS host you all if they was to win?

We put a lot of stock on a bunch of 15-18 old kids, you know.
Glad they have all been successful to get to this point in their young lives. They’ll remember this game forever, regardless of outcome.

They get the better end of the stick. They get to play the game at least one more time, all we get to do is talk about it.LOL.Wish all for both nothing but the best but wishing just a little more for those Bulldogs! These type games are memorable moments these young men won't forget.I remember mine like it was yesterday and it's been 34 years ago.Envious I guess.

I wasn't complaining,  I was just stating how dominant SP is in the east this year. Just stating the facts.  They good!

Oh I know your thoughts are just like mine.I was quoting that other poster. You and I both know what we have to deal with most every year!LOL.

So let me get this straight....if you have good players you can compete for a state championship?  Nice logic.

And if the team that you pull for isn't as good as YOUR team was way back when then what should happen? What should the athletes or the coaches do?

From what I gather, everyone from the east needs to kick rocks, take the LOSS, complain that the coach is terrible,  and move on to next year.

    Think about it!

Alot of good points.Basically take your beating and be happy with a Semi final appearance, not many get one.

I just didn't see how things could get that much better in two weeks is why I picked Oliver Springs. Season ended with a 5-7 record. What does next years team look like, will they have much coming back .

We have the kids just too many penalties and the offense just couldn't get nothing done with 1st and 15 on most drives. We laid an egg in this one I thought we could play sound football but this guy just can't adjust to the game,it's baaaddd!

I'm curious to see if we have some depart. Will let you know when I do.

I agree, except in my opinion, I think South Pitt will exposes everybody in the east not just quad 1.

You are right rt as they do most years. We up here don't have the ability to pull those type athletes EVERY year.We had a good run and area kids loved to play for coach Ryan but this is the best it's gonna be for a while.Your best is still not close to an average SP team.We on the other hand have Blount County next door and we can pull them in but not with what we have now.Yes you have to have 1 or 2 studs to win against them just as they get each year.If we could have kept Ladue (Maryvillle) and Duggan (Alcoa) we would have a shot.Ladue is a legit D1 back.Duggan not so much but would have been All State here.

Are you guys pretty young,O&B. if so ,you might be able to challenge for the region next year.

You do know that the Ladue kid at Maryville ( mom moved him because she was afraid he wouldnt get a D1 offer and he sat most of his career because of injuries would have been a Mr Football finalist here) is a Greenback kid played with these Srs and beat Alcoa and Maryville all through youth league and number 16 for Alcoa a three year starter left when Greg did after he got to play his 8th grade and Freshmen year starting for us.We keep those 2 kids and SP is worried to death again!

Folks say we "improved" but honestly we just got our good players back week of Sunbright missed 5 and 6 starters most of the year.So we should have been better with them back. This guy has not developed any of these kids this year and actually went back to the QB from last year because they couldn't developed an offense for the Sophmore QB who can sling it.

We played ALOT of Freshmen and 8th graders this year but majority of play makers were Srs ( i think 11 total).Only 1 Jr on a team of 37ish.Have a good will be Jr QB and RB but line was mostly underclassmen.Pujo its very hard to overcome not having a HC with real experience. He brings nothing to the OC and DC at all.We need him to look at our situation and just give it up and let a COACH with experience bring this young team in the next couple years.

Don’t know what the issue was but honestly the punt was a deal several weeks in the making. Long story short our long snapper hurt his elbow a few weeks back. He is also one of our sophomore LBs. Last night they had someone else snapping instead. After that snap our usual long snapper went back in so a lot of thing helped the wheels fall off early. Like you said to have a shot we had to play our best game. York sure didn’t need any help and the first quarter we definitely didn’t do ourselves any favors for sure. Either way we’ll learn and hopefully get better from it.

Ours went just as bad.Constantly put ourselves in 1st and 15 or 1st and 20 with silly penalties.Defense played well but Offense just killed all momentum.
