  1. I can respect any WC fan rooting for their team. I think maybe some WC fans are not quite sure what good really is, maybe they have a hard time assessing talent. I thinkthey won a few games early( weak opponents) ..... I will say this, your basketball team is pretty good, I expect they will beat MJ convincingly this year. You still ahd a good football season.... but not quite ready for the big boys. Your offense is predictable, and not quick enough. Too many turn overs, and conditioning is an issue as well ....
  2. Man I know these schedules are tough, just wait until you play top ranked Hooterville..... man Hooterville is bad *SS
  3. Austin Smith soph Mount Juliet High School
  4. Is St.Louis done for the year or will he play Friday night against MJ
  5. From what I have been told if you are a pitcher it does matter as much if you play at a small school. If you have the arm and the control you can move on. For position players it is a much different game. It is this way at any level. Pitchers are measured differently than position players. I have have a few scouts tell me that if a pitcher has what they are looking for then they do not care as much about the size of the school. They definately take it into account though. I have had a college recruiter tell me that he goes to the best AAA schools in the state first.....then he might hear about a kid at a small school and look into him. If he really has the stuff then he is added to the list, followed etc... But for position players, you better be hitting 30 HR's at 1A to get chance. If you do not think for a moment that playing against better talent game in and game out, not just a few games, is not going to make you more prepared for the college game you are fooling yourself. I know a kid at a Dll high schook that hit like 35 HR's ina season, he attended a bigger school than 1A and he washd out in JUCO ball, conversely I know a kid that hit 12 HR's at a AAA school and he went ans is still playing D1 ball. Here is some sound advice, make a list of schools your son would like to attend to get an education and play some ball as well., pick a D1 a D2 a D3 a NAIA and a JUCO....then take your kid to the camps that these coaches are having at their campus. Believe me the coaches will tell you what they think and where they think your son can play. You can showcase him unitl his arm falls off, and you will only have less money and a sore arm.
  6. The better 1A players will definately at the next level the second tier 1A will not sign as much as AAA players....it's simple fact.
  7. I agree with you, the top tier athletes are going anyway, Wheeler , Gant, Sweeney such as the ones you mentioned, but the second tier is not going to come from 1A it's coming from Dll an AAA
  8. Your right I was confused with another thread.... I apologize and I will keep my opinions to myself
  9. Your delusional.......Coach McNeal is a good coach, he is not a great high school coach. You think he is, you think 1A players get the same looks from college recruiters that AAA players get...your nuts....you want to believe that..... It's ok to be the big fish in the little pond....if that's what you want....get a good team, beat undersized weak talent and then tell each other how great you are.....but don't try to convince people who have been there and have gone through many recruiting seasons that there is not a difference. There's a huge difference.... You will not hear me say anything bad about Coach Hunt......he runs a top notch program....and he also knows the value in keeping a few local boys on the team.
  10. I guess this is just what makes us different, The "dog pile" in high school is not as important to us as the "dog pile" later on down the road. FC does some AAA schools, if you want to count McGavock, Gallatin and Portland Again this has gotten off topic a bit....this thread was intended to discuss players at 1A schools verses 3A schools, once again a FC supporter has hyjacked the thread.
  11. The best players at at any level will get an opportunity to play at the next level. But past the first tier recrutiing the AAA players will take all the spots before the 1A players. It's just a fact..... recruiters looking at who you play...... for instance to a college recruiter a player of same ability that is striking out players against Oakland, Riverdale and Farragut will get more attention than a player striking out kids against 1A talent.
  12. I doubt any MJ players are wanting to play at FC.
  13. I understand the points you make with the Lebanon games, and there's nothing wrong with FC or any other 1A schools. As far as playing for a Championship every year.....my thoughts on the matter. Here is basically how I see it at FC.... Get as many good players as you can in the athletic program. ( nothing wrong with this ) some players at FC could/can/have played at area High schools. Go beat the the heck out RBS, Watertown.....etc....maybe win the 1A championship tournament. To me that's not what I would want.... I would rather play top level AAA talent night in and night out, and if I did not win the AAA tourney, so be it.... FC = big fish little pond syndrome
  14. That's great, I hope the player ( if he wants) gets to sign with any of those schools. Keep in mind interest is one thing, signing is another. I agree FC can hold their own with Leb and WC..... Mj is too deep.... but on any given night who knows. But overall 1A is weak......weak...weak.... so IF a player can play at a AAA school and get time on the field, he should do so...
  15. Ok break it down, how many are from Lebanon, Mount Juliet and Wilson Central Hey FC has a good team, they have proved that, but that does not mean that they can compete game in game out with AAA teams. The fact remains, a lot of kids have gone to FC searching for playing time that they might not have gotten at MJ, WC or Lebanon. Well....maybe not WC.....but Lebanon and MJ. And that's ok, if I have a son that needed playing time I would do the same thing. But it is what it is. Then again Stephen Pryor played at FC
  16. panthersfan20 please give an example of when an A team beat a AAA team? I'm refering to good A teams like yours...... beating a Farrugat, Mount Juliet, Houston, Arlington I stand corrected, you have beaten some good teams, Houston, Bartlett.....
  17. I am referring to the "A" divison as a whole, not one particular school. There are good players at the A ball level just like there are bad players at the AAA level. As far as summerball, apples and oranges...... But what does seem odd to me is how FC supporters, are quick to defend, to the bitter end and it always seems that no matter who is posting on this board it's always a FC supporter and anyone else. Honestly, I know of 3 FC players that would/could start on any AAA team, but I also know 20 AAA players that would/could start on any A team. For years and years parents have been moving players to FC for an alternative to the larger schools in the area. how many kis on FC roster live in Lebanon?
  18. I love how the "sally league" single A teams fight with each other on this board. It's hilarious....... it's like watching midget wrestling. with the exception of a few players, this league is a notch above P.E. this line says it all.... Can you deal up a 88 mph heater? Check ..... 88 ? funny.....
  19. Too soon to tell in Jan. what will happen in May. Farragut is always tough, with the program having so much success they know how to win. Tullahoma has the Sheffield brothers, and begs the question are they enough? Columbia will be good as well Ooltewah. MJ has roster full of very impressive pitching, 6 sr's with 3 jr's and a soph. From what I here Collierville has a very good team as well, they hit very well. I do not know about Arlington or Bartlett.
  20. Dresden and FCS..... do you know what the term "Sally League" means? Might want to look it up.....congrats to FCS for winning the game.
  21. FCS.....it's where all the players go to get PT rather than sit the pine at MJHS ....
  22. Winfree ...... he'll cough it up twice tonight, plus MJ at home, it's 35-14 MJ BHS does not have the offense, if they turn the ball over once or twice it's over.
  23. MJ over Lebanon 10-4 rematch tonight at Lebanon.
