Truth, I have the opinion that Troy Allen is a subpar high school coach and I dont see it getting any better anytime soon.. I have first hand knowledge and exp. with Mr. Allen. I really do not care about the player who got caught, and is not longer on the team. The players are not my concern. I merely was pointing out that it would be nice if MJ had a better coach. I have had first hand dealings with Mr. Allen and I did not kike the way he conducted his practices, his team, his personal etc.... Now having said that, I have no personal issue with Troy Allen , I wish no ill will towards the man, I just wish he had not graced the halls at MJ. And I over the years have made this known to Mel and the admin. So what's your next question? He is an adult, He is a public school teacher..... do you live in a fantasy world were people cannot say what they feel ? Good day.

Funny you say that, I have coached basketball, talked to many basketball coaches and the story reads the same. But thanks for your advice.

If you read the posts trebs started the Chowbay thread, I did not start that. I dis ask what all the hub bub was about... I should not have mentioned it. Your right MJ basketball has never been a contender, But they always seem to under achieve. You really think Allen has character ? I can give serveral exampls of his lack of character......and who is MP and RB?

Yes it's true MP is the new HC at MJ............ RB is the asst. and JJ is the pitching coach. Should be an interesting season.

Lets see .... one side is Leb, H'ville. WC and Portland the other side is SC, MJ, Beech and Gallatin. I think Beech plays SC and MJ plays Gallatin not sure of the other side, but I'm guessing H'ville vs Portland and Leb vs WC

It was a good game , beech won 5-2. MJ walked two in the first and then with two outs a miss play on a fly ball scored three. After that neither team scored until the 6th inning . Beech pitcher was strong , struggled in the 6th giving up two runs , but battled through it . Smith 89 , McWilliams 93 !

I saw the MJ / Oakland game, the starters for both teams were good. I thought the Oakland hitters had a better approach at the plate than MJ. MJ got a lucky play in the outfiled that resulted in a couple of errors. I thought the big mistake for Oakland was pulling the starter, I think MJ got their tie'ing run and go ahead run on the relief pitching.

Oakland had a tough game at MJ and now Overton..... I saw talent on their team, maybe just need more time to jell

MJ has a couple of pitchers that the district teams have not seen play this year. MJ really has 4 pitchers, 2 have been pitching district games and doing well, there are two more that have been pitching against Jackson Christian , Farragut, Science Hill, LaVernge, Brentwood, Powell , hardin Valley etc.... so I give the pitching edge to MJ for that reason. The jr. can run it up to 87-88 ....I think you will see him at some point. Also the WC wins have been 6-2 , 2-1 etc.... the MJ wins aside from losing to Beech early 3-0 have been run rule games scoring 9-12 runs in 5 innings.

MJ on paper is the favorite over WC..... but you never know.... it looks like MJ is clicking right now, run ruling the district teams, Carter should thank his lucky stars that he has inherited talent like MJ has year after year....

MJ loses to LaVergne 4-1 ....

They look ok, beat Riverdale 14-1 but it was 0-0 after 8 innings...... then the subs came in..... pitching looks ok, defense ok, hitting needs to pick up. they have the ability , but 16-18 year olds who knows from day to day.

Who will be the impact players? What are the pre season ranking opinions ?

MJ will win the district again will little effort. They have more talent and are deeper than the other schools . New coach is solid... the pitching coach has not changed, the asst coaches are still there. MJ has 10 sr's and 3-4 solid jr's with varisty exp..... a new jr from Lexington they will be fine.
