The semis and the final for District 10 will be at Harpeth this year. As always, first round and quarters will be at the higher seed. East division is set. The west division seeding will be determined tonight.

Actually, it's a very confusing situation. The district voted to go alphabetically and alternate divisions. It was the West's turn...Cheatham turned it down. CA can't do it because of not having lights. Everyone was under the impression that Creek Wood didn't want it. Harpeth was next and they accepted. However,the Creek Wood AD just emailed the coaches saying that Creek Wood would be hosting it. Should know by the end of the week.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine as well. The rules of soccer are much more intricate and open to judgment than any other sport. We encourage our parents during the initial team meeting to learn the rules of the game before voicing their opinion. If not, then only use your voice to simply encourage the team. It is embarrassing for a coach and a program when you have boisterous fans who don't know the rules clearly. In the past, we've even considered having a day-long classroom session for any parents (and players for that matter) that are new to the game. My personal favorite is when one of our girls makes a drop pass only to be chastised by the fans: "You're going the wrong way!!!"

If memory serves correctly they won it in 2004. I know because they played us in the region semis. 2003 and 2004 we played the eventual state champion in that game. FRA and DCA respectively. I could be wrong though...all these seasons start to run together. Not trying to discredit her at all. East Robertson is not going to get a lot of attention statewide, so I just wanted to give some logical evidence in case anyone was doubting the stat. The offense runs through her. I've watched her for her entire career and shes earned every one of them. Believe me, I'm not going to take anything away from anyone or any team accomplishing something out of our district. Heck, we even stopped the game on our home field a couple years ago to recognize her 100th goal. Best of luck to ER and Brenna. Maybe she can put a few in and take out White House in the tournament so we don't have to play them.

Sounds a little crazy but...She's a 5-year starter. Most talented player on a team that doesn't field a lot of soccer talent. Small roster which means she usually gets to play the whole 80 regardless of score or opponent. Doesn't really play against the cream-of-the-crop on a yearly basis. It all adds up. I know we usually mark her 1-on-1. Probably doesn't hurt that she's the coach's daughter too. Anybody know what Dunlap's (DCA) state record is?

I, for one, as a District 10 homer hope this is true. Although I'm sure somebody else reloaded. Here's to a new season hoping one of our country schools will rise to the occasion. Maybe we'll even be the most discussed district like we were on the boys boards...

Broke their leg?!?! Colin or Hunter? Did they play with it broken because I don't remember seeing that either... I hate the scheduling conflicts and wish CA would have paid attention to it a little more. Isn't baseball in the middle of their district tournament as well (and hosting)? A full strength CA beats Greenbrier but one thats depleted could go either way. And, I'd have to agree about "going all the way." Looking at the results, District 9 is probably gonna have a play day with District 10 but, then again, that's why they play the game. And for those interested, CPA and Lipscomb play tomorrow for the title.

That's definitely a little bit more than "pulling one out." Did anybody go to this game?!?! Greenbrier seemed to be in a slump. But looks like the loss to Cheatham did a little more to Harpeth's confidence.

I think a lot of that is due to simple math... 14 teams in your district + 6 different counties = A lot more people around to talk about it Oh how I miss the days when 7 teams was too many to schedule. But I agree about the general lack of interest in the soccer boards. I think a lot of the legends have moved on. Where's BigG when you need him? If girls soccer is dead in the fall, then we've got a problem.

Surprised at how that East Robertson prediction almost happened... I think it's gonna be 1's vs. 3's in both Semis.

The coaches had a morning meeting to iron out all of the details of the tournament. There may also be some discussion on changing the tournament format and a few of the by-laws. The link that MattL posted (Thanks!!) will take you to the final standings and the tournament matrix. This is who will play who as long as nothing changes at the meeting. The only thing I'm unsure about are the dates. In the past, it has followed the same format. Play-in games on Saturday. First two rounds on Monday and Tuesday at higher seeds. Semis and Finals at host site (White House this year) on Thursday and Friday. Once I get all the info from the meeting, I'll try to post games and times for anybody who wants to go and check out who they may be playing.

East Robertson and White House are scheduled to play tonight but the only change that could bring would be ER moving up to 6th place. Either way, they are in the play-in game next Saturday. Don't take this as the gospel but, if Cheatham wins and Harpeth loses... 1. CA 2. Cheatham 3. Harpeth 4. Sycamore 5. Montgomery Central 6. Waverly 7. Creekwood Seeds 4-6 would all be 2-4-0 in the division. They were all 1-1 against each other, so you go to the second tiebreaker. Sycamore would have 2 shutouts making them the 4 seed. The MC/Waverly tie would be solved with head-to-head giving them 5 and 6 respectively.
