You know what is pitiful is the fact that Tennessee High can produce all these D1 athletes, but still can't win football games. What is up with that? Here is a fact, we are all very happy for Downs, glad he made it to UT and hope that he does very well, so don't think that it bothers the Boone fans or any other in the Big 8 that he was a product of Tennessee High.

I think it is pretty simple that the team with the most athletic ability would win an athletic event, if that isn't true then what is football about? I wouldn't say he was a bright spot in that game, all i remember is him catching a 5 yard touchdown pass with 3 seconds to go, and then him trying to start a fight with our linebacker after getting frustrated earlier in the 4th quarter, but i could be wrong, he may have had a couple of good blocks or something so i will commend him for his loosing effort. Refresh my memory, was 09 the year that our former quarterback and defensive end also returned a punt for a touchdown against science hill?

hmm.... that doesn't sound like a legitimate definition to me. Can you argue that TH has more athletic ability because they lost those games? That sounds more laughable to me than my conclusions. Keep in mind that my argument was not that Boone was quicker, faster, stronger, but that they were overall better at playing the sport of football. Also i don't believe that Brendan Downs caught 3 passes last year against Boone, maybe I am mistaken but i know he did not do much, so are you now arguing that Boone was more athletic ability than Cincinnati? That doesn't sound right to me. Also, I find comments like the one about the water in Gray to be insulting and wish that you could limit the conversations to talking about football and do so in a more respectful manner.

Please define athletic ability. Webster defines athletic as, of or relating to athletes or athletics. Leaves me puzzled as to what athletic ability really is. Is it speed, strength, agility, or the over all ability to play a sport. If it is the later, then the record over the past 2 years shows that Boone has had more athletic ability than Tennessee High but not as much athletic ability as South beating TH 2 out of 3 games and beating South only 1 out of 4. Would you agree with this logic or do you believe that it can be disputed?

Ok so here is the thing, Trailblazer you are in fact being hard on the players. and rightfully so. yea they are young, this is their first year as starters, however they were on the team last year and should have payed attention. I am very frustrated myself. I cant believe that they are this bad, and frankly i am embarased that they don't play any harder than they do. I think they may have spent a little bit to much time out by the pool this summer instead of being focused on football. But with all that said, i am still gonna go watch them and cheer when they do something right, if that happens. Because if they feel like going out there every friday night and making themselves will foolish then so be it. However for me i dont think its worth posting about, and trailblazer you should probably quit to for the time being, until their is something a little more positive that we could say, whenever that may be.

Sorry, you missed your chance, you cannot buffalo us anymore. Earlier today you were talking like they were D1 prospects now they are just have potential talent for this season. Boone doesn't leave gaping holes like that for them to run through, and they actually know how to tackle. Fub, I would expect Boone to be well conditions,and the one thing I keep hearing is Boone is much faster than they were last year, does Elizabethton play their stars both ways? cause generally Boone does. My personal prediction will be Boone 27 Elizabethton17 But that is mainly just throwing out numbers for the fun of it.

Come on now trailblazer give them credit, they performed admirably in the 7 on 7 tournament, after all that is what matters cause everyone gives a hundred percent in those cause they know that is what counts when it comes to playoff seeds.

Yea...all it takes to put out a spark is a drop of water.. Boone did not just luck up and get some unlikely talent the past few seasons.... the program has just been changed the average talent found at Boone has bought into it and now they want to win. T hank yo u coach Jenkins. As for south, don't expect them to fall of the map because Stacy left,he did something there that will far outlast his tenure.. he started traditions that will last for years to come.....as for your coach he has not even coached his first game at TN high, unless he is some football god I would expect some bumps ...again not to down grade him but we know he isn't Stacy Carter and look at the season he had last year.

Speaking of this quarterback of theirs, is the a pocket type quarterback or dose he like to scramble? And did they teach him to throw to receivers or to hit the officials in the head?

Before the season even starts, with a new offense, and the way they got knocked around last year, Yes. I know they whipped up on that new school in VA, and they impressed everyone in the Jamboree, take it for what its worth, when the season starts I see it being a different story. With that being said i don't mean to write them off completely, they do have a chance and it, and the new coach may come out of the gate with guns blazing, but I can't give them that kind of credit at this point in time.

I cannot begin to tell you how impressive that is. That is always what i like to see when the backs run over an official. Fortunately Boone's backs have enough vision to see the referees.

i like your optimism, after the season your team had last year, and loosing their coach you still pick them above Boone and South. Maybe you know something that I don't, if you do please enlighten me, if not please refrain from taking us down a trip through your fantasy land you seem to live in.

I dont think that is a fair assessment of the situation at this point in time, maybe we should wait for the first round of the playoffs before we make that judgement.

I tend to agree with you, except this is the first game of the season and also the first time a sophmore quarterback has ever started a game, so in this case a W will be a W and an L is just bad news no matter when or where you get it.

Ok, this is my first post of the season, I haven't seen anything out of Elizabeton since 2005. heard they were good last season. Saw on a previous post that they whipped Boone way back in the day when our Grandaddys were playing so Boone obviously is gonna take a good whipping in this one. What i really was to know is what ya'll whom have seen quite a bit of Boone football, including the South, TN High, and DB fans think Jenkins will do with the Boone offense this year. now that Mr. Connell is gone it will obviously have to look a little different. I havent seen Littleton throw the ball except a few times. I think he has a good head on his shoulders when it comes to being aware of what is going on around him, from seeing him playing saftey last year. so he may have a good go at it but that is just sepeculation.

I am probably not going to get to see much high school basketball this season, but I believe that the Boone team will be pretty strong this season, returning everyone except for Jordan Gray i believe? But they may be shaky for the first few games seeing as how the the basketball team is pretty much made up of football players, but i am very excited about seeing how Ryan Gaitor does this year as a sophmore, so i will probably try to make the Hardee's classic this week, does anyone know who Boone is supposed to play to start that tournament?
