  1. Yes it was. Lot's of great memories from this season. And congrats to a great group of Seniors. Took some lumps but had great careers.
  2. Now that is a very true statement. Congrats to Maryville. Knew we would have to play perfect and have breaks fall our way to have a chance. Didn't happen and the better team won as usually happens at this stage of the season.
  3. Not this old boy.... I-75 to 321 and over. not sure where I will chow down tho.
  4. I agree that the teams from SE Tennessee tend to play with a little bit of chip on our shoulders. But then we get told a lot that our brand of football is simply not up snuff and we should stay home When the Bears were placed in the Super 32, I saw a lot of comments suggesting that Bradley would be nothing more than canon fodder for Knoxville and upper East Tennessee teams. Here's to a great game and the players decide it on the field due to talent and effort without injuries. I have said already, on the radio show I do and in private Bradley has to score in excess of 30 points to have a chance. These are two good football teams meeting tonight and I will be there cheering my Bears on.
  5. Let me say this in regards to that... I don't always agree with things being said, but when you look at the culture of America today.... Welll..... The ones who don't use some bad language is getting very rare. Sorry to say, but it's the truth whether we like it or not.
  6. I would expect no less from a Maryville team.
  7. I can agree with that .... I defend officials when they make the right call even if it hurts my team. But I will call them on it if I see them make a bad call. And If I don't see it I rely on them to make the call and I just shrug my shoulders. I just disagree with the idea that we should accept everything that is called and never say a word if we think we are wronged. Now I had complained about the lack of discipline as well. Not from aggressive play so much as the mouth. . All that said I expect a great game and win or lose, our team will play as hard as they can and the fans in the stands will have our teams back... no matter what.
  8. But if Barney thinks I will be quiet if I think we are getting a raw deal he'd better stay home cause he won't like it lolol
  9. I will be there.... not missing this one.
  10. Let me add a bit of perspective from a fan of another long time team. Bradley is in the 101st year of playing football... started in 1916. Dobyns-Bennett stated in 1926 if my numbers are right. Looking at the history, D-B has won 782 out of 1,053 total games. Bradley has won 595 out of 1,049 total games. (totals include last night) Out of that D-B can claim voted Championships in 1945, 47, 48, 49, 1959, and 1960 (two services) and 1964. and in the last 25 years, has been in the play offs every year, but has never won one on the field since the play offs started in 1969. Bradley has had one voted (1961) (two Services) and one on the field in 1976. And Bradley has only made the playoffs 10 times in the last 25 years (mostly 1 and done). In that time we also saw 12 losing seasons (including 2 0-10, one 1-9 and one 2-8). I understand the desire to win the championship, but while you list all the reasons why you should win and make suggestions why you have not.... be aware things could be much worse than what you have experienced. I can promise you one thing. It's not nearly as fun sitting the rain and cold watching a losing team get it handed to them week after week with the litany of coaching changes trying to find the one that will make things better. This perspective comes from a fan that attended his first games, with his father (his youngest sister was a cheerleader) in 1961 and from 1973 until last year never missed a season opener (heart attacks can do that to you). The only seasons I missed Bradley games consistently was the 2 years I followed my nephews Georgia team while he played.
  11. Well like I said not long ago, we are gluttons for punishment, and wanted another shot at the Rebs. We got it. Now to see if we can do anything better this time around. Passy, I promise they will know we are there, even if we are just loud Wal Mart shopping types. Country Folk will survive you know,
  12. I didn't think it would be, but... I really don't think the Maryville folk would want that crew back from some of the things I read..
  13. Well if it's that same officiating crew........
  14. I will disagree.... We have a chance.... just not a good one. If you are still playing you have a chance.
  15. Gotta save that for another week at least if you think the it's for the Bears.
  16. NOT EVEN.. You better hide in those hills tho... There are some Bear Momma's who are ready to skin you alive
  17. Was not a K Mart guy lolol not even Retail.
  18. I decided he had to be deaf and blind. Can't read the name right and mispronounced Muirvulle. When I worked up there I used to say MARYville just to bug the natives Or say isn't this Alcoa LOLOL
  19. They can be confident all they want. We lost the game against them with a new QB and in overtime. Maryville wins by 2 TD's, at least.
  20. Oh We just got to where we laughed, and yelled "TUCKER".
  21. The problem is that even if you kick to Brewer, he can do some damage. Not much I would add to DaChamps post, but I would add that QB Standifer is hitting over 70% of his passes and does a good job of putting it where the receivers, particularly Tucker (not Turner as the Maryville Announcer had him all night LOL), can make a play. But if you put emphasis on him Clark, Mulhonen and even Howell and a Freshman by the name of Curry (raw young talent that may eclipse Tucker by the time he's done) can do damage to a group of DB's. The thing about Mullis is even tho he is relatively small for a RB in this league, he runs much bigger. Picked up 176 yards on Science Hill and they are not a bad defense. Defense is small and fast and VERY aggressive... only way to play when you are out sized by everyone.
