  1. I thought this was going to be a easy game for Catholic, early on, but now I am not so sure. They did not impress me that much against Cleveland and then Soddy Daisy took them to the limit. I still think Catholic wins (Mays is a beast) but not the slam dunk I thought earlier. Rhea could give them some trouble.
  2. For the 95th time since 1916, the Bears will take on the Cherokees of McMinn County. Bradley leads the series 52-39-3. Lot's of history in this game, and while Bradley has developed a bigger rivalry with Cleveland and now Walker Valley, McMinn County still holds this one high. Always a tough game and McMinn gives the best effort they will all year against the Bears. The Bears come into this game with senior laden group with lot's of experience. McMinn County is young but tough and will be ready to play. This will be a tough one.
  3. Bradley is kind of one of those pick your poison teams this year. You take something away someone else will rise up to bite you. Too many play makers to hang your hat on stopping one and you got us.
  4. No actually when the Owls were the better team I said so. But I am also critical of all teams, just ask the Raiders fans. I don't throw out much trash talk, just honest opinions.
  5. Geess Passy your DB's need to get in the same zip code as the receivers before they have a chance at a "pick six party".
  6. Passy just can't stand the fact that Da Bears are a much better team than his Hoot Owls. So now he roots for anyone to win to try and do something that his own team couldn't lolol Gotta live with it Passy. Acknowledging that the REAL #BIGBOYFOOTBALL is tougher than you thought will make your life a lot easier.
  7. After watching Catholic and Cleveland I am not as impressed with Catholic as I was when I saw the Maryville-Catholic score. Then after SD almost took them....... Going to be a very interesting last half of the season.
  8. This could be a close tight game. The Bears defense will need to play disciplined, stay at home, defense to stop that Wing T. If Rhea holds on the ball and limits Bradley's touches it will be tight.
  9. WE know Walker Valley can score points. But can they stop anyone? This is one time I would suggest Cleveland to not get into scoring, track meet kind of game. LOL Running and good defense will win this for Cleveland.
  10. Cleveland showed a lot of improvement over last year. I knew they were better but hard to tell against Catholic how much better. Told someone over the week that the OL of Cleveland would want to prove something, after last years debacle. Skill players, Jones, Elder and Cawood were very good, as I expected. Defense was way better than what we saw against Ooltewah. Cleveland has a great chance for an exceptional season as does Bradley and maybe a rematch in the playoffs
  11. Let's see, 29 penalties in all, and they were split evenly between the two teams. BTW PA that is a dyed in the wool rivalry game, not the little thing you call a rivalry. And to tbh, while there were a lot called, I didn't see many blatant physical over the top fouls. Most were aggressive normal play between our teams. I have not seen the lights go out like that in over 40 years of home games. sheesshhhh
  12. Howell is a great. Missed most of last year with a broken collar bone... TWICE.. hope that injury last night is minor.
  13. No joke lolol but it was a hard fought game as usual when these two get together.
  14. OK one -of the biggest rivalries in the state (and maybe the biggest locally outside Baylor - McCallie or South Pitt - Marion County) and we are worried about the OWLS and Passy over a game we won almost 2 weeks ago? Geeeeeeesshhhhh Enough with the hooting Passy, the owls are meaningless this Friday night. It's Bradley vs Cleveland for the 43rd time and it don't get any better than that! Does Cleveland's Caywood play or does Burkin get the call on Friday night? Can the Bears "Black Hole Defense" slow down Jones and Elder like they did last year? Does Standifer and the offense rock and roll or does Cleveland's defense cause trouble? THOSE are the questions of importance....... Since 1965 Bradley and Cleveland have played 42 times. Cleveland leads the series 27-15. Cleveland's biggest margin of victory was in 1991 with a 75-8 victory. Bradley's biggest margin of Victory was in 1978 with a 43-0 win. My favorite victory was in 1974 when the Bears won 14-13, after trailing 13-7 with 1:14 left in the game and taking the ball 80 yards and scoring the winning TD in the middle of Cleveland's band as they lined for an expected victory march. A close second would be the 27-26 Bear win 2009. The largest crowd I can remember to see this game was the 1976 game at Bear Stadium in which it was standing room only in the stadium, 3 deep at the rails and the bank of grass in the horseshoe half filled with people. Bradley wins 21-13, on their way to a state championship. The second largest, I remember, was at Cleveland in 1977 where the stands were filled and temporary stands were added in the end zones and were packed to capacity. The Bears win once again 35-23. Ok, fellow Bradley and you Cleveland fans, I know you guys have some thoughts and favorites. Let's get this thread back on track.
  15. Leave it to PA to try to find a way to make it sound like the Bears didn't beat his Owls.
  16. Oh yeah Moc's coaches said hey he torched the Owl Secondary, he's gonna be great. Let's get him on our team....
  17. Been through tough times and good times. I know how it feels. Actually the Bears had to prove a lot that first year in the Super 32. No one gave us a chance to win anything, because they just remembered those days.
  18. Region 2 6A rankings after 3 weeks of play... Surprising list Cleveland 3-0 1-0 Maryville 2-1 1-0 Bradley Central 2-1 1-0 Heritage 1-2 0-0 McMinn County 1-2 0-1 Ooltewah 1-2 0-1 W Blount 0-3 0-1
  19. You have to understand.. in his mind only Ooltewah is a powerhouse. everyone else is a cupcake.
  20. A battle of Wing T's. gonna be a fast game lolol But I like Rhea County in this early on.
  21. LOLOL Man with no sense of history.... Ancient is the early days of Ooltewah - Bradley?
  22. The only question would be if they have room for them... I lived in the city and went to Bradley, as did a good number of my classmates and most did not play any sports,
  23. If you are a student living inside the city you can go anywhere with no extra charge. If you live in the County and go to a city school it's like 6 or 700 bucks a year if I remember correctly.
