  1. What do yall think about this matchup? Should be an interesting game, will also be televised. Central is looking much improved from last year, and Marshall County looks very good. I like Columbia in this one if they can keep running the football the way the have been. Their starting running back has some impressive stats in the first three games. Columbia 42 Marshall county 35
  2. "If we were a 6A team right now, I don't think we'd be doing nearly as well." You're own coach agrees that Beech would not do well against those teams.
  3. Powell had a running back last year who was prolific also, and they lost in the championship game. And to say that Columbia does not play anyone is ridiculous. Does Beech play anyone to the caliber of Chattanooga Baylor? No. We may have lost to them but they are one of the best teams in the state, and in the country. Jalen Hurd may be a very talented running back but like I said statistics do not mean a thing in games like these. Columbia can score in every facet of the game. Where as Beech relies solely on Hurd. That can get you in trouble in a big game such as tomorrows. But good luck to both teams. Enjoy the opportunity to fight for a gold ball.
  4. Stats don't mean a thing. They are not a reflection of who will win and who will lose. Mr. Hurd plays in an offense that is designed to give him the ball every single play, of course he is gonna have good stats. I do believe that this will be a very good game. This is a state championship game, both teams deserve to be here. You all act as if Beech is on another playing field because they have a talented player. It takes more than one person to beat a team. I think this game will come down to the wire.
  5. everyone on the field is determined to win a championship? Lets not forget that we have a very experienced Columbia team here. Markham won a ring as a sophomore. Do you think he isn't determined to get another one? Along with Hall, and Martin?
  6. Columbia's offense is apparently very underrated according to these posts. Unless Beech's defense is just that good? Which i doubt, Columbia has a dynamic offense, which can score at anytime, anywhere on the field. Also their defense is incredible at making plays when it counts. They have a secondary that is hard to beat, and their linebackers are everywhere, anchored by some athletic big guys up front. It is going to be a good, close game. Columbia -45 Beech-42
  7. i agree with gridironguy, sometimes a team shows up and they are just better that particular night, but to be honest i think that LC is good enough to make it all the way to the championship game, they are hard to match up with and can do a lot offense.
  8. Lenoir City just made the plays when they had to, the lions did not make many mistakes but the few they did cost them. Columbia just got out played and you have to tip your cap to LC, they were probly the best 5-5 team in the state lol
  9. Actually Ensworth scrimmages central every year and it is always a tough scrimmage, so to say that ensworth would kill columbia is not accurate
  10. who do you think wins this one?
  11. Both teams are undefeated so far, how do you think this one will turn out?
  12. central wins this one 27-10, their bend but dont break defense stands the test again.
  13. i think this game will come down to how well the up front guys on either team play. If columbia's defensive line can shut down Dicksons run game then it should be a win for the lions.
  14. Who do you think has the biggest offensive and defensive lines this year in 5a football?
