  1. When does Oak Ridge play Melrose or have they already?
  2. Rashsd is very important to the team. His vertical is UNREAL and he plays hard down low. I have always been impressed with his touch around the basket too. ROLL CATS!!!!!
  3. Congrats to all these players and coaches, all honors have been earned and are well deserved. I might be a little biased, but I feel strongly the Elliot Normand should be on the list with these other players for LB. JMO
  4. Those have been floating around for a couple of years now.....dreaming IMO.
  5. Seriuosly, I believe that a new facilty with turf, and an upgraded lighting/sound sytem with clean faclities would get more kids to come out for football. These are high school kids, the drivers for their existance and everything they do.......glory and girls.
  6. Agreed sir! I think it's time for Oak Ridge's athletic program to turn over to the next generation! Somebody with more money than me.....STEP-UP
  7. .SLINGBLADE MULLINS!! i tride ta reed at air play book.....didn't understand much of it.Hhhmmmm
  8. Dirt moves, Maybe Chinn can put up another office building.
  9. I'm very well aware that it's not going to happen, I just think it should because it makes the most sensefor the ATHLETIC program. I hate to say it but, the renovations to Blankenship aren't going to happen either. Not that much money left in Oak Ridge. I don't care if anyone's afraid of the Wildcats either SS. I believe they should be!!
  10. I understand and love tradition as much as anybody. But sometimes tradition just isn't a good enough reason NOT to change. Look at the HS, Oak Ridge could have built a brand new, wall to wall, top shelf High School for millions less if they weren't so caught up in leaving parts of the old school. That's right....it cost more to renovate than build new. It's nice.....but more expensive than it should be. The same goes for Blankenship in my humble opinion. Selling the Jackson Square property and building new facilties for ALL the ORHS sports just makes more/better sense. Let the new traditions begin!!
  11. I coched bawl up air fer a few years, till I give out. Yuns got anythang guud ta eat ovathare at KC??
  12. I will agree that our AD is an idiot. Slingblade Mullins is in over his head and everything he tries to impose his authority in gets screwed up. He gets way too much credit for hiring coaches etc since he was told to hire Green. He already made the declaration that Aaron Green wouldn't be HIS basketball coach.HHHHHMMM He can't even get the OR on the basketball court right. The guys installing them told him they were upside down, but he just stuck out his chest and told them to do it like he said. Yes. Ron Gray should have gotten a chance. HHHMMM, This yers mi skool house.....HHMMM
  13. They aint skeert at all!!! But they should be.................
  14. I agree with everything you've said....except it being cheaper to fix Blankenship than move it. The school system can sell that property to fund the move. The 4 year old estimate to bring just the visitors bleachers up to code was around $700,000, so the entire restoration will be much more!!. The drawings that have been floating around have multi-million dollar price tags without upgrading the field at all. If the system sold the property in Jackson Square, it could fund a great deal of the cost of the new facility plus other sports (track and CC) would benefit as well. The parking improves, and the band and football team doesn't have to transport equipment etc even for home games ( saves money as well ).
  15. I would settle for a few foul shots!!!!
  16. Stacked in a cage...if they're all still there. Sorry if I've created a distraction in the gym. That Powell team sure is well coached!!
  17. SS, I'm sorry to say, but Slingblade really is "behind the curve" I can't believe there hasn't been any questions about the upside down OR emblem on the court!!
  18. I have to agree on the track, it does need work, has real water issues under the surface. The trophy cases....That's SLINGBLADE MULLINS all the way. I'm actually glad you brought this up. The trophies are stuck in a cage in the storage room for the gym, have been ever since they moved in. Mullins HAS BEEN the AD for the Entire time, and these trophy cases are just another of his failures. Hopefully, if he reads this, he will have them put back out. All he needs to do is be a leader, make the request, and it will happen. As for the school board, they will never make everyone happy with the order in which priority is given. If they spend 2 million an Blankenship, just as many academic folks will be complaining as we are now. I'm GLAD Keys is still on the board, he does a great job, and is above board on everything. If you really want to hear people get upset, make a proposal that makes sense....Sell the Blankenship property, renovate the practice field, update the track and field facilities, then the band and players wouldn't need to transport everything even for home games, and there would be plenty of parking. There is PLENTY of spce around the practice field all the way to the Turnpike to build a state of the art football and track facilty. The truth is.....too many Oak Ridgers are still stuck on tradition. Blankenship is old, and in need of repair, lots of it and it would make more sense to move everything to the High School address. yun's got any good trophy's bak air? HHHHMMMM
  19. Sox, I would beg to differ... Slingblade Mullins was there through it all.... The trophy case, the press box, the upside down emblems.... He WAS part of the problem and none of the answer. Soon enough you will all learn what an IDIOT Slingblade really is. Anytime he decides to get involved in anything.... It's screwed up.
  20. " Be careful....aint nuthin fer me ta whup a mans a%^%!!" I think the field is in great shape considering the time and manpower its given. The overall facility needs some work though. The visitors side bleachers are on the Capital Improvement list for the near future but not the home side. Both sides are falling apart and the buildings are nothing to take any pride in at all. As for the post about the soccer field.... that was almost exclusively private money,( its actually called PRO2SERVE field) which is how ALL programs fund a majority of the improvements to athletic facilities. The nicest improvement to blankenship in years was a new surface where the cheerleaders are that is much safer than what was there. ( Thanks to URS ) The powers that be, who knows!! The only person I have any faith in at all is Keys Fillauer. I think we all know how I feel about Slingblade Mullins and the verdict is still out on Goins, but Mr. Fillauer is on the board for all the right reasons, and none of them are political.
  21. Agree on the dressing rooms. Worst locker rooms I know of.
  22. He can get it out of the community....that is what sets him apart for me. Great coach and politician!
