Another fan shaking his head, walking through the parking lot for a long ride home, asking himself how did that happen?....... Their schedule sucked! Going to happen all through the playoffs again this year. Science Hill loses to Oak Ridge Maryville will beat D-B Powell will beat TN High..and the football world will once again be balanced. The only knox area team I see losing that's not playing another knox area team...Fulton to Livinston Academy.

I hope you're not right, but I fear you are. I think this is a totally different game if your QB was still playing. As it stands........another looooong off season thread coming your way...

I couldn't agree more. If any team can win from this quad, they are a GREAT TEAM!! I personally think the hardest competition's going to come long before Cookeville. I know I've made some peeps mad saying that, but history doesn't lie. East Tn football is a step above the rest of the state.

That's the only hope for any team to win from this quad. Have to play the best from the west AFTER you have beaten yourself up playing the best competition in the state (IMO). As far as Maryville teams go, if this team makes it's way through this quad, then to Cookeville and wins, I think you can chaulk them up as one of the best ever. Not as flashy etc., but look at who they will have defeated if they get it done.

The Shuler boy really plays his behind off back there too!! I know of 2 touchdowns he saved against Oak Ridge.

You may be right on with that assessment. I think the biggest reason they could seperate from oak ridge was fatigue. OR had to play a lot players both ways and it really showed in the 4th quarter. Maryville is just a machine, but when things "click" for D-B, they are impressive offensively. Should be fun to watch!

If I were a betting man, I would take the over on this prediction. Maryville WILL NOT keep D-B to 14. I think the Rebels win but they are going to need more than 15 points to do it.

I think you have to just get up and smack the Rebels in the mouth and go right at them. They WILL hit back, but you can't do what most teams do and forget what got you there They have earned respect, but as you're other D-B fan said, not awe. Defense...GOOD LUCK! If you fill the box, they will throw it very well. I thought Maryvilles passing game was underated. They threw the ball very well last night. If someone sets the over/under less than 80.....I want the over... Get used to hearing the Notre Dame fight song.....YUCK!! My only dissapointment about the Rebels whole program....I hate that song!

I agree on every count sir. I hope all the Oak Ridge players know how proud we are of them, their efforts and their character. As you read these posts, the one constant, before and after the game is everyone knows you're going to give 100% everytime. Keep your heads high, your city wouldn't trade you for any other team, you represent Oak Ridge very well. Thanks for another great season!!

I agree Pep, the stadiun was totally silent, student section stopped in the middle of "something they do" to show respect, she was upset that Maryville players were still talking with the coaches.......stoooooooopid!! It was so quiet, I was sure you could hear her on the home side.

By the way all you Rebel faithfull..... Did you get to hear Ryan Halls Momma? I couldn't tell if you were clapping for ryan getting up or for her screaming at the top of here lungs when the entitre stadium was dead quiet for " you to get yo a$#% on one knee". Funny stuff..... She has a history in the Basketball court.....

D-B does have some serious speed, but the Rebs, well, they're the Rebs and will come out ready to take care of business too. I put the over/under at 80, should be a lot of fun to watch.

The refs were terrible, I don't think they were a deciding factor in the game, but they sucked non the less. D-B vs Maryville.....you've been asking for it D-B........GOOD LUCK! Well, I can say we have played both Bradley and McMinn Co. in the past two years in tough playoff matches. In the two, Bradley Co. played a clean, hard nosed football game and McMinn Co. was the ugliest game I have ever seen. Good luck Riverdale....keep your cool.
