Well, it is the eve of Riverdale invading in on "The Black Hole". We have talked enough about flags on poles and smoking Tee-pees (Which is probably dry ice). Now, the injured QB. Yes, it is very unfortunate, but this is part of any sport. The 1972 Miami dolphins went 17-0 with a back up QB through most of the season. LSU beat the Vols in a SEC championship game with a back up QB and RB not too long ago. In 2010, the Rebels beat Smyrna in the state championship with Robinette in the "twi-lite zone" during the entire second half. Good teams find a way to win with injuries. To quote George W. Bush, "Let's Roll!" Time to play to the game. Good luck to both communities and teams. Go Rebels!!!

OldRebel2, Why must you stir up this crazy news of deaths from flags on poles? Friday there can only be 1 flag on a pole. Yep, "The stars and Stripes". A flag we can all agree on! Located on the visitors side oddly enough!?

oldRebel2 Dang, you are obviously a big Rebel fan, but I was just trying to embellish a bit to livin up this new rivalry. You are correct, the first time the Rebels came out in front of the stands was against Farragut. With 4 minutes left to go in the 1st quarter it was MHS 21-0. You may be a little upest with me cause you were over at the old Rebel walk and you missed witnessing history.

The night most of "Rebel Nation" will always remember? For the first the time, a large infantry marched out of the locker room in front of the packed stands prior to the 2009 Semi-final game versus Riverdale!!! For the Maryville faithful it was the night a old tradition was broken and a new one started. Apparetly, GQ only allows this for big games? What is everyone's guess for Friday?

Riverdale, I talked to the guys at Aubreys' last night and they are prepared for the fans to invade Friday. The smokers are lit up and ready to doctor up some meat for your visit. By the way, this being the case one will not need a lighter for your Tee-pee. Remember, Maryville high campus is a smoke free!!! Go Rebels!!!!

Hey David, Seriously, The milling location is really not what a large group may be looking for. A very small and pricey menu. Probably too late to accommodate a large group. Trust me, we want your trip to be memorable, but in a good way. Except on the gridiron.

Hey Riverdaleman, I have to voice my opinion on the restaurant choice. Not that my Son works there as a host, but it is without a doubt Aubreys'! Great food and service and of course, kid friendly. The best catfish tenders, pasta and pizza in Blount County. Sorry, I am not as talented as Stars to link the menu, but search Aubreys' and one can find a menu. 7/8 mile from the 'Black Hole' two right hand turns and you're there from Aubreys' Eat a bunch...after all it is Thanksgiving! Travel safe and Go Rebels!!!

Sorry Riverdale folks, Starsnbars has not been around electricity in a while. He will not be inside the stadium until after the start of the 4th quarter. Great fan, but we have tried to have him seek counseling! He does not threaten women or children.......just those which offend his Rebels! Seriously though, the field is looking great and the weather even better. C'mon Warrior caravan. We can not wait to have yall here for a great football game. GO Rebels!!!

Well, another Riverdale week for one of us to punch the ticket for state finals. It's very unfortunate to hear about the Riverdale QB. The Rebel Nation wishes him and his family well! Years ago when these two teams were in different classifications, many Rebel fans would stay after our championship game and watch the Warriors and ponder the future when these two teams could meet for similar stakes. In 2009, this opportunity became reality and the rivalry had begun. It was exciting to see a new community invade the "Black Hole" and support and decorate in the manner they did. Now, just one little bit of information. The Riverdale fan base has been offered much advice regarding restaurants, hotels etc. Just a reminder, flags on poles and smoking are not permitted on campus. By all means, bring your Tee-pee, but please just don't light it up? Good luck to your team and travel safely. Keep in mind, we are on this site to simply have fun. Let's allow the kids to have fun Friday night and dertermine the victor. Go Rebels!!!
