Such a great game tonite. Pirates gave MC all they could handle the WHOLE game. I was SO impressed with our D. To hold them in the last few minutes & then end the game with a TD & then to get an interception. Unreal!!!!

It was knotted at 20 each, & then with about 4-5 min to go SC got open & ran down field like they stole something. They are well coached. We got out played. We have some things to work on but will be fine as the year goes on. I have to say that I was impressed by their school spirit - they were loud & proud. Good for them.

I was proud of our boys for continuing to play hard at the very end & continue to go for it! And SC showed real class by allowing the clock to run & not cram another TD down our throats.

I totally agree on the youth programs. SP has kids who start playing at 6 & 7 years old. These kids have parents & grandparents who played. It is what makes for a great football tradition. Sounds like WC & UC are much the same. Both schools have classy fans & coaches. 1A is a wonderful place to be - it brings the community together & swells the pride every year! I agree with others who say UC will have a target on their backs. That is what happens when you win the State gold ball. You should be strong next year only losing 3 seniors. Good luck to you all & congrats again!

We were missing Kyan Mitchell - he could have helped us but don't know if that difference would have meant a win for us. UC played a great game & were well-coached. After we drew first blood they made adjustments & we did not score again till they were up by 2 TD's. we, on the other hand made our adjustments in the second half & they did not score again till their field goal. But it was just too late. Adjustments needed to happen earlier. Again, great game. Even with the outcome & bad weather I would go again! So proud to be a Pirate!!!

This is one for the record books. We have another silver ball & there is NO shame in that. We Pirate fans are still proud of our boys!!!
