  1. Dresden has a solid team,we played them in the first look scrimage at Dyer,0 to 0 Good luck, but it will take a solid effort.
  2. Marquess Jackson,senior DL,OL 6ft 4in.,350lbs,benchs 400 sqats 525 and a great kid.He has had 2 d1 schools contacted him already.He plays for 3a Ripley Tigers.
  3. Ripley @ Harden County on the 4th. Can"t wait to see some heavy hitting.
  4. We may be able to change that in week two when Ripley goes to Dyesburg. They only won by eight last year. Ripley is faster and stronger this year. Good luck to everyone in 7-3A. Can't wait until the season starts.
  5. We've got a better QB this year than we did last year. As for our new head coach, he has a lot of experience winning games. I think (not for sure) that every team Wheeler has coached has made it deep into playoffs, and some those teams had a lot less talent than Ripley does. We won't count anybody out, and we won't take any game for granted. Good Luck to everyone in 7-3A. We're ready for some football!!
  6. OC couldn't hang with Ripley last year, and we only lost 2 linemen to graduation. We also got back two injured D1 prospects who didn't even play in the OC/Ripley game. I really don't see OC in the playoffs, but good luck anyways. I think playing football is alot better than talking football.
  7. I have seen both many times and believe that to be a very fair statement.Cole however did make all region punter last year. He will be missed here in Ripley.
  8. I've just learned that Ripley's new head coach will be Marty Wheeler, Covington's former assisant coach.
  9. Huntingdon, good luck Cole, will be looking foward to seeing him in a couple of weeks.
  10. The new coach will be anounced this afternoon at practice.I been told from a reliable source,Weeler from Covington. Not sure how to spell his name. GO TIGERS
  11. Even we just found out yesterday that they had decided for him to go to Huntingdon. Cole's a good kid, and Huntingdon is lucky to have him. He'll be a good addition to their teams. Page
  12. What has Coach Mac been charged with? Nothing! It's interesting that my son and I were both willing to post our names on here when we gave our opinions, but these people who continue to tear Coach McAdams down hide behind pretty screen names. If you aren't ashamed to give your opinion (which you're entitled to, of course) then you shouldn't be ashamed to use your real names instead of hiding behind anonymous screen names. Page Latham (731) 635-1670 cplatham@bellsouth.net GO TIGERS!
  13. Thanks, I was just a little tired of the Coach Mac bashing going on, and I figured I'd give a player's perspective. I'm going to drop it now and move on. Laser Rex, for the time being Coach Myers and Coach Byrd have shared responsiblity for running the practices, and they've done a great job. Everyone (players and coaches both) are ready for a decision to be made about the head coach position so that we can start putting our offensive and defensive systems in. Most of all, we're just ready to play some football. Will Latham, LG #54
  14. I'm Will Latham, and I've played for Coach Mac the last two and half years. There wasn't any favoritism shown at any point. I know the coach in particular you're talking about too. I'm not going to say any names, and it was true that many of the kids didn't like this certain coach. But I NEVER heard him talk about somebody's family, and he didn't have any say on who played anyways. As for Coach Mac, no matter what anyone says, he was looking to get the best guys on the field. Now I don't support every decision he made, but all coaches are going to make mistakes. I was there, and I believe he was a good coach. I go back and restate again, he never showed any favoritism towards anyone. I can go back to one practice in particular. We were doing the Oklahoma one-on-one drill. His son, Cole, called me out to play against him. (That says something about Cole, since he's about 6'1 and 170 and I'm 6'3 and 245) I knocked him on his tail, and helped him up, and Coach Mac came over, and told me good job, and that he wanted me to do it again. And so I did it two more times. He was just looking for the best out all of his players. He showed no favoritism toward his son, nor anyone else on the team. Cole and Coach Mac are both great people, and I'm glad to have played for and with both of them. We're all gonna miss both of them (despite what some people here have said) and I want everyone in Lexington to know they're getting a heck of a football player in Cole McAdams. I wish the best of luck to both of them, and hopefully our paths will cross again sometime in the future. Will Latham, LG #54
  15. Who are you MAC ATTACK ? You know who I am,call or post, Thanks Page
  16. There were about 5 or 6 new kids yesterday. Some lucky coach is going to get a really get a talented team. The coachs are doing a great job and the kids are excited to get back on the field. I hope they do not get someone who wants to change system in place. If is not broken don"t fix it. I have heard 3 names on a new coach, but willl not post.GO TIGERS
  17. Coach Mac is going to be the principal at the Carroll County Tech School. Cole is going to attend Lexington High.
  18. WRONG, I do and I try to teach my sons right from wrong everyday. I never said he was great, only how the kids felt. How can you judge a coach's ability on a series against one team. Many have fallen to Covington. The 2006 team lost only 2 seniors from last year, and they have 7 kids benching around 300, one at 400 and the team is the fastest in many years. I will be the first to predict this will be the year Covington falls. The next coach will get a lot of the credit for the work Coach Mac has done. The year before Coach Mac arrived, the team was 0-10. In 7 years, Coach Mac has turned the program around. He's given us a region championship and 6 winning seasons. Now it's time to move on. As a community, I hope we get behind these kids and support them. Good wishes to everyone and GO TIGERS!
  19. Look for Ripley return to the playoffs next year. While Ripley lost three of its offensive linemen, Marques is as good as those three put together, and he'll probably be the best in 7-3A. The left side of the line, Will Latham (6-3, 240) and Nick Stillwell (5-11, 285 - Honorable Mention All-Region this year), returns next year and is where most of Ripley's rushing yards came from last season. Together with Marques Jackson (who played OT his sophmore year) this should be a very good line. In addition, Ripley will get back Benarvon Taylor and Justin McElrath, who were both on there way to being All-Region, IF NOT All-State players before they were injured. Ripley will return 10 starters on defense and 7 starters on Offense. Should be playoff contenders next year as long as the ambulances stay off the field. Can't wait till spring practice!
  20. I for one wil be glad when it starts again next year.We had many injuries since week one,, two of which were broke ankles that ended two D 1 prospects for this year, but both will be back for thier senior season next year.Exspect to be in the play offs next year if we can keep the ambulances off the field.Good luck to everyone in 7 3 A in the play offs and the ones that did not. Wish they would have a 7 3 A allstar game.
  21. Just as I predicted,Ripley 27,Obion 16..Should have been 33 to 16 except one t.d. called back on a sorry call.I bet the reffs did not have far to walk home from the game.
