  1. I think we all 3 just said the same thing. Maybe I just didnt say it clear enough in my original post. I did not mean in anyway that Mcphail was promised anything in relation to a head coaching oppurtunity when Anderson retired.
  2. He wanted to come to Overton because he knew Anderson would not be there much longer and he wanted a good shot at the job when he left.
  3. I dont want to go back and quote each thing Id like to reply to so Ill just hit a couple quick points.. * Campbell was in no way promised anything at all when he came to Overton in reference to what happens when Anderson left. * Mcphail did not come to Overton to just be an assistant. Dont believe me? Just ask him. He has had no issue telling people that he planned on putting in for Head Coach when Anderson was done. *In reference to the players from the early 2000s Hillsboro team, those kids were rezoned from Glencliff, not Overton. They were not there because of M. Phillips, they were there because thats where they were zoned to go. *To the comment made about RA doing "nothing" at Riverdale, if a 10-0 season and 2 trips to the 6A state semis is considered "nothing". Then I guess you are right. Both of those semi-final losses were to Maryville by the way, who beats everyone.
  4. Dont count out Coach Mcphail. He is really pushing for the job.
  5. Coach Mcphail and Coach Campbell cage match to take over?
  6. I agree with basically all of what you said except for this part. Im not actually saying i dont agree with it because i dont really get why you think it matters if they have a relationship with Cumberland's coaches. Crain had been a coach at Cumberland and had a working relationship with them. I dont see how it helped him in anyway.
  7. I wouldnt be suprised to see some former metro head coaches going for this. Mcphail at overton. Madison at Cane Ridge. Thigpen at Hillsboro will probably give it a shot.
  8. If i was at hunter's lane, i would be desparate for some wins.
  9. I could look through the standings and finf plenty of people they could call. I know a few teams that are not near as strong as a brentwood or oakland that would be willing to play them. Just takes a little effort
  10. When you have 1 game in 3 years, i dont think there is a cupcake win. Im talking about finding non region games they can be competitive in so the kids can build confidence. Losing to teams like brentwood and oakland wont help build the program at all. Until kids in the school start seeing some wins, they wont come back out for the team.
  11. They are 0-20 in the last 2 years and rarely even play a close game. Hopefully whoever the coach is, they work a little harder on the non region schedule. The past 2 years, they played Maplewood, Brentwood and Oakland for the non region game. With back to back 0-10 seasons, they should be able to schedule some games they can at least play close in. Any chance of a coaching change?
  12. I was gone by then. Why did he not continue in that position? I dont have anyone in mind. Im not even saying he is a bad choice. I would just think they would look for someone who has either been a head coach before or has some consistant sucess as an OC or DC. Urban Meyer went directly from WR coach to head coach so it can be done and done well. I was simple making an observation of the situation.
  13. I was there in the early 2000s. What did I say that was harsh? I simply stated what he had done at Overton. He does coach DBs but like I said, its still only a position coach. I dont know of anytime in the last 10 years he has been DC and if he was, it didnt last long. Tell me again what i said that was harsh?
