He does make a good point. Maybe bucksfan should spend more time working with this kid after practice instead of bashing another coach from dca who either quit or was fired? Hated to see the web score.
  2. Centennial posted on TSSAA looking for an interim coach for this year. Thoughts?

This kid had to have played in jr. high somewhere before. So he doesn't play because he is late to practices due to the bus coming from USN. Is he the only player coming from USN and if not do the other players not have to sit out? If he is really that big you would think he could help on the line somewhere.

Wanted to know what was the deal with the "BIG" kid who never gets to play. I have heard that this kid is around the 6'5 - 6'7 range and is probably around 290 lbs. That being said I was told he never sees the field?? Whats the deal, if he is that big in that division he should be seeing the field every play I would think. Does anyone know the name of the kid and why he isnt playing?
  5. Unfortuantely they have hired a new coach. The Head Coach from Davidson Academy will be taking over at Mt. Juliet. Not sure how this guy beat out the list of names who applied but it definately helps when your dad use to be the man at the tssaa. Mt. Juliet had an amazing candidate in Coach Brown who would have easily stepped in and kept them in contention and possibly taken that next step to a title. There were also some other big names who applied so it is very surprising that they went with him. It will be interesting to see how long he lasts and where the team goes from here.
  6. Big difference between All-District and All-State. The CPA comment was more about how I think they will run through everyone again due to the fact they can bring in so much talent year in and year out. Im sure Cheatham Co will have a great year if they are returning that many players. Someone mentioned they have size but can't handle the press. How big are they? Lindsey and Blackwell run about 6'6 6'7.
  7. Who on this team is going to be All- State and how will they do against CPA?
  8. What was Coach Maddux role in the school while you were there and how exactly did he get to be in charge of admissions?
  9. Any updates on the new coach/leading candidate?
  10. Well still no word of a hire. Any other names being thrown around? I agree it would not be wise to seek advice from a region opponent's coach even if he is a former great.
  11. Massey has a good team coming back next year, interesting he would want to leave a freshman team that was loaded. Not sure how true Coach Sonn is in the running. Seriously doubt he would leave a state runner up team loaded with juniors. Sources?
  12. How about Husband over at BA? Ha! Wishful thinking. Is this job even open?
  13. This is a topic that BigENS should start a post on. Husband may or may not be a good guy but he is not a good coach and needs to be replaced or BA will never compete with the big boys of DII AA.
  14. There has been alot of rumblings the last few years. Hopefully there is a change made very soon.
  15. Ok! Season is over for both Coach Sonn and Coach Smith. PLEASE make a change, let these two interview and go from there. Somebody has got to get in the ear of the higher ups and get this moving. From what I heard about todays game, I'm thinking Coach Sonn would love the change of scenery.
  16. Hopefully something will happen soon. I think Coach Smith is great, but I will be pulling for Coach Sonn. We have played USN the past two years and I would to say that I was very impressed with what I saw. Coach Sonn plays an up tempo defensive minded game and his players really seem to enjoy playing for him. Once again, hoping a change comes soon.
  17. Would be happy with either. Both would bring alot to our school. Hopefully they will make a move quickly. With summer camps and everything having a coach in place would be nice.
  18. Bradshaw is definately not the answer. He was replaced at PJPII after a sub-par year last year. His replacement had a great season this year with pretty much the same talent. I know there is alot of interest for the job and people are just waiting to see what happens. Not sure the coach from Ensworth would leave, Starks from Harding is a good coach. I still think if Sonn from USN shows any interest he would be a great fit. Can relate to players, ties to middle TN, and by all accounts a good young coach.
  19. The players in the east region are gonna come down to Marberry from FRA, Nash from USN, & Welch from USN. Marberry is a beast but has been a little inconsistent 30+ one game and 6 the next (not next game just example). I believe the kid will definately win this award, maybe even twice, before he graduates. Just not this year. The problem with the other two is that they play together and with two other players who average double figures. From what I gathered Nash is getting around 17-18 with 4 4 and 3 and Welch is putting up around 15-16 with 4 2 and 4. Both putting up big numbers while playing with 2 other scorers. In the West you have Glover, last years winner, Payne from Lausanne, and Skal from ECS. We all know about Glover he will definately be a finalist. Payne is a smooth guard who can fill it up. Has been known to fire a little to much but the kid can play, averaging around 19. Skal is in MHO alot like Marberry in that he is a great young big man who is putting up some decent numbers but I believe is a year or two away. My guess would be the three finalists as Glover, Nash, and Payne.
  20. Outside of Howard and definately Corn, not sure the rest of these players would qualify as being the best in the state
  21. Glover is good and Im not trying to take anything away from him. I just think that from start to finish and everything he did Kaspar was the best player. THis year I think Payne deserves to be in the discussion based on what he has done. Throw out all of the summer ball and AAU and base it on this year, he deserves to be in discussion. The Nash kid is probably the most complete player of the three. He literally does it all, scores, rebounds, assists, steals, team leader. He is fun to watch as Im sure they all are. Glover will obviously be the front runner with last years win and some very high scoring outbursts, but Im telling you the Nash kid definately should be in the conversation.
  22. Since I just posted on another post about this I figured I would air more of my opinion about this award and who I think should win and who I think will win. The past few years this award in both divisions (in my opinion) has not gone to the states best player. Last year in DII - AA McDermott won but Im not even sure he was the best player on his team. He was very good and should have been a finalist but to me Corn runs that ship over there and is an amazing talent. The Nichols kid from Briarcrest is a huge recruit and has several coaches chomping at the bit to get him. He is an agile big man who can pretty much do it all. This is who I think should win it this year but with the way it has gone recently who knows. In DII - A it has also been questionable the past few years. Before anyone gets upset about me talkibng badly, these are just my opinions and I believe all of these young men are awesome. The Lyles kid from USN two years ago was really fun to watch and had one of the purest strokes Ive seen. Tarwater was good but Lyles was better. Last year No one could stop Kaspar and they gave it to Glover (who I think will probably win it this year). So who will be the upset/darkhorse this year? I personally have seen two kids from Middle TN who could fit the bill. Nash kid from USN is very good at just about every aspect of the game. I was at their gym when we played in December and that kid can shoot , pass, run, and has awesome hands. Recently saw in the paper wher the kid got a triple double with pts., assists, and steals. The Marberry kid is another one that the college coaches are lining up for. Mobile big guy who can do it all. Needs to be more consisten, but when he gets there, watch out. He is probably a year or two away from owning this award. Anyways, I look forward to some serious post about this. Once again not bashing any body just my opinions.
  23. this award is a tough one. I have been at the tournament the past two years and to say that the crowd was shocked at the winners would be an understatement. Two years ago the kid from USN was the best player on the floor no doubt about it. Last year the kid from ECS was outstanding and should have won it. Im not saying that the winners were not deserving, they definately should have been in the running, just not the winner. This year from what Ive seen and heard I think it will come down to a couple of really good players. The Glover kid from USJ is obviously putting up some pretty big scoring numbers and won it last year, so I would say he would probably be the front runner. My personal pick would be the Nash kid from USN. We played them at the beginning of December and this kid does it all, he fills up the stat sheet and puts in around 20 per. THe Marberry kid from FRA is young but definately should get some attention and I keep hearing about a guard from Lausanne named Payne who is putting up good numbers.
  24. I think the best player in this division is the Nichols (sp) from Briarcrest. He should win this award. I also think Corn Elder will get alot of votes as well.
  25. Coach Farmer, we played USN at the beginning of December and the Nash kid deserves all the recognition he can get. He led all scorers in that game and outplayed everyone on the floor. Hodge was playing in that game but I was not impressed with what I saw with him. Seems to be more about himself then the rest of his team and was forcing alot of shots. But from what Ive seen and heard about, it looks like FRA should win their region and has a very good shot of winning it all with everyone returning from last years team escept their pg. With the way our season is going it is hard to get excited about anything, the only thing we have going for us is the possibility of our head coach losing his job and getting a fresh start next year!
