  1. I agree on Central and East. And Whitehaven is dangerous. White Station is the key to the puzzle. They have so much talent.
  2. District 16-AAA BOYS Monday, Feb. 11 (5) Whitehaven 73 vs (4) East 68 (6) Central 70 vs (3) White Station 80 Wednesday, Feb. 13 (5) Whitehaven at (1) Hamilton, 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 (3) White Station vs. (2) Melrose, 7:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 Third-place game, 4:45 p.m. Championship game, 7:20 p.m.
  3. It's only bona fide if the aunt, uncle, grandparents, brothers or sisters have legal, court appointed custody. If the student lives with anyone and does not have legal guardianship, then it is fraud and illegal.
  4. Very Good post... now is anyone at TSSAA reading or listening?
  5. been there; done that; got the t-shirt, and jersey, and shows, and pants. It is not worth the pay to have emotionally involved "fans" yelling and screaming and disrepecting my family, my parents marital status, whether I am a human or dog fecies, or if i am a heterosexual. As others have said, most fans only see the game through rose-colored glasses for their team and do not know the rules. Just is not worth the pay.
  6. In order of my preference 2012 Newby, Polythress, Austin Nichols (John Ross Glover, .Bradshaw) 86 Sylvester Gray, Chalres Whitby, Ron Huery 90 Team of Penny, David Vaughn, Eric Mitchell
  7. Good points. The only question or follow up would be: how many free throws did the team miss? Did they miss any wide open, easy paint points? Did the team have 5-10 unforced turnovers that lead to fast break points? If the answer to ALL of these questions is "no", they i would agree, they were robbed of playing in overtime. If the answer is "yes" to any of these, they robbed themselves. By no means is this an put down of the hard work the ladies put in to keep game a nail-biter. This is just the way I see it.
  8. What makes anyone think TSSAA is concerned about it being fair?
  9. Lausanne is very good. fast, big and can shoot. ECS is a surprise. With Skal and Owens, they have lost too many games. Matchups for them looks like an issue. St George will be tough.
  10. Do not know him, but great accomplishment. Please pass along my congrats.
  11. In a game last night, with the home team up by 15, early in the 4th quarter, the refs were ready to go home. They were letting the play get way, way too physical. Both sets of fans were complaining loudly that the refs need to call fouls or someone would get hurt. One of the home parents yelled as one of the refs ran by on a transition break out, "Call something on someone before the kids get hurt." he said it twice. The ref stopped the fast break, called for a game administrator, and had the fan removed by security for unsportsman's like conduct. I do not think he blow his whistle the rest of the game. The other 2 refs were still professional and at least tried to call the game respectfully.
  12. Absolutely agree. But the original question was best high school player in TN. And by no means should Marc be in the list.
  13. @HoopMD, Good points. There is no way that Iowa, Iowa????, has more high level basketball players than TN. Same goes for Missouri. ARK at least has 3 in the top ESPNW100. Iowa has one #69. Missouri has one #81 Nina is #52. Derika Wyatt from FRA going to Oklahoma could be on the list. I disagree with TN only having 2 (maybe) major D1 players I would call Tennessee, Marquette and Memphis major basketball programs. There are 4 in Memphis alone with a 5th being close (Newbern): Austin Nichols (#13 ESPN100), Nick King (#31), Johnathan Williams III (#37), Robert Hubbs (#38), and JuJaun Johnson (#64)
  14. I have to agree with @terop Marc is one of the top 2 centers in NBA but he was not the best player on his Lausanne team. He was chunky and slow with little game other than being 7 foot
  15. Makensie and Jaycee should be finalist but they may offset each other as the winner. It would be a shame for that to happen but stranger things have. Also to jump into the freshman talk. Houston High Shchool in Memphis has a freshman starting as point guard, Jaida Roper. Averaging 14.9 pts a game.
  16. Good points... I figured there was some underlying innuendo there. Between this topic and the boys CPA topic, I get all the humor and put-downs each day...
  17. your statement was best HIGH SCHOOL player, not college or pro. I would say Joe Jackson was a better high school player than David. ummm Larry Finch..
  18. I watched Blackman for 3 games over Christmas break. They run and jump and defend. One thing I noticed is they really really like to back-door and rim-rock. I saw at least 6 different players take lobs and not just dunk it, but throw it down...
  19. Like the old country saying about a frog and wings... If a frog had wings, it would not bump it's butt when it hopped. Why do you always put someone else down to try and support your players or team? You do not know if anyone would average anything because they don't play. Especially on this thread. Voters and others will see your negative comments and could hold that against the two girls. I am pretty sure Coach asked us to promote our choices, not critizise others.
  20. the fund could actually part of the tuition cost. And there are or will be endowment funds that "help" offset the costs. the FAFSA or "need" is based on Tax returns. Good Luck to FC this year and years to come.
  21. And the term scholarship is actually misleading. Even financial aid is misleading. I am doing this financial aid for next school year. The school or bank or lending institution does not send your family a check and then your sign it over to the school. The school looks at the recommendation of the Independant auditor (most schools in TN use the same company) on how much the student's family can pay based on previous year's tax returns. The school can accept the whole amount or part of the amount. The school just absorbs the accepted amount. example. Tuition is 10,000 Financial ability of student based on Tax records for previous year 7,000 The school accepts 7,000 from the student. The 3,000 is absorbed by the school. Is there a fund in the school's budget that will offset this value. Absolutley. I would be willing to state that there are just as many parents of the particular private school students that are upset about some students not paying full tuition.
  22. And Kentucky's top 8 players are Seniors or Juniors, so will they be #5 when she gets there? I guess that is something that we have to wait and see.
