You would be very fortunate to have Carp or even Dugger at Hampton. Two great coaches.

Carp had the respect both of the kids and the fans too.

I have watched Ned in Lander Land night after night granted he was and prob is still a good coach but he never treated the boys the same. Some kids worked their butts off for him all summer long and seemed like the ones that didnt come to practice or didnt care whether they played or not were the very ones that he would beg to play and did get promised playing time. They seemed to waltz right in and got more playing time than anybody. I know this to be true. Too many kids were at my house night after night. They knew with Carp if they worked hard in the off season and gave it their all then they were the ones that played. With Ned you could quit today and then start tomorrow. Most of the kids felt like that why bust my butt? Hope he has changed.

I can agree with your statement. Its obvious that Carp was the brains behind the Ned/Carp combo. With that being said I'm sure Harrison has learned a lot from Carp. I really hated to see Carp go but you cant fault a man for trying to better himself. Wasn't as disgruntled when Ned left because we kept Carp but life goes on. Harrison will be fine he is a great guy and has the kids best interest at heart. The basketball community needs to rally behind him which I assume MOST of the will. A lot of armchair coaches out there.

Actually have kin folk on both girls and boys teams...I have always been a Cloudland fan, and still am, but also pull for the Bulldogs as most of Carter County teams, when they play outside of the area. I also travel to many different games during the year to watch QUALITY football and basketball games...love high school sports! Hampton has always had their share of GOOD SHOOTERS but lack the TEAM concept for the most part. But yes its early and hopefully the will pull it together and have a great year. It would be nice when traveling to the Boro this year to have a couple of 1A local schools to watch again!

And exactly where do your kids play?????? Harrison is a class act. From the elem teams he coached to the high school, he is a first class guy! He will be just fine.

Not usually at Hamptons games until this year I have kin folk playing. I didnt see very much team play and I know its early but too much "I ball". Ya gotta play together or you will fail together. Some tuff games coming up maybe they can get it together. Best thing is not to let the girls or boys read the newspapers. They will make a "BIG OLE I AND A LITTLE OLE U" out of kids.

Very surprising for such a big school not to have a bevy of talent. I guess everyone sometimes have a rough year. I still believe they will be there in the end.

Looking forward to getting on here next week and asking who you play the following week...your play time is almost over.

Hampton will be missing at least 3 players due to the football playoffs. I really dont like the overlap of seasons in any sport especially with 1A teams. Many players play multiple sports and it really hurts for them to be missing.

I get to watch more games this year at Hampton than my dear Cloudland....grandkids playing. Gonna be hard not to watch the blue and gold every game. Wish them both luck thru out this year. Hope they end up in the Boro!

Carp is a good coach and Im sure he will make a good principal...discipline

Both teams have talented kids at different positions but I do believe Hampton has a few more experienced seniors than Cloudland
