    9-A

I can see it shaking up like this.... 1. Moore County 2. Chapel Hill 3. Cascade 4. Eagleville 5 MTCS 6. Huntland 7. Community 8. Fayetteville. Again, like you mentioned, the middle teams are basically equal... It really depends on who can get hot and stay hot the last month of the season..
  2. Congrats and Kudos to Moore County's junior center Sarah Raby for crossing the 1000 point plateau back on December 30th against Fort Walton High School of Florida. Sarah is currently boasting a 16 pt per game average along with about 8 rebounds per game. Keep up working hard Sarah!!
  3. The girls from Lynchburg won 3 out of 4 games in Florida to take home third place. This was a good tune up for district play beginning nest week. This puts the Raiderettes at 16 and 3 with losses coming against (A) school Summertown, (AA) school Chocktaw, Alabama, and (AAA) school Murfreesboro Oakland. Expect these girls to get their legs back under them this weekend and be ready to go at Community on Jan 3!!
  4. thanks senator for dumping on a tournament that featured some really strong teams. not just good.. actually there should be several of these teams at the boro in march. maybe even some from the cookeville tourney as u were apparently at that tourney and must have just seen the scores from the Warren Co. tourney.
  5. The Raiderettes from Lynchburg finish strong in the sundrop christmas tourney held in Warren County. This tourney was loaded with great basketball teams from all over the midstate area. Congrats to Warren County for making this such a good tournament. The girls from Lynchburg win three out of four games falling by a bucket to Murfreesboro Oakland. They beat a very good Cumberland County team this morning as well. Enjoy Christmas girls before heading off to Florida for another after Christmas tourney.
  6. Overall moore county has played more quality opponents. Summertown played lights out against Moore county and Moore county played their worst game of the year against Summertown. You were probably there to see how one-sided the officiating was as well.
  7. #1 moore county #2 jackson county #3 clarkrange #4 lake Co #5 Madison Magnet #6 Summertown #7 Huntington #8 Bradford #9 Huntington #10 McEwen
  8. The Raiderettes from Lynchburg enter into the Christmas season with a convincing win at Richland 67-19 and will now travel to Warren County for a Christmas tourney before going to Florida for another Christmas tourney. In Warren County, the Raiderettes will face former coach Jennifer Grandstaff's Murfreesboro Oakland team. This will be a much greater test than any oppenent Moore County has faced this season, including Summertown. Oakland is a very big, quick, talented team. Moore County will have to be clicking on all cylinders, stay out of foul trouble and not turn the ball over in order to have a chance at a W.
  9. with a near flawless first quarter, the raiderettes try to distance themselves from the rest of the district dominating the game on both ends of the floor winning 54 to 34.
  10. is it too early to begin talking class a miss basketball? Moore Countians are definitely taking notice with junior Sarah Raby and senior Rachel Garland leading the way. Expect either or both to be a strong consideration this year.
  11. The Raiderettes from Lynchburg travel to face long-time district foe Huntland on Friday night. The lady hornets were all into Moore county at the conclusion of last years' regional tourney. Expect a dog fight down in Huntland as they will be ready to take down the Raiderettes. Moore county must get a good balanced scoring effort and keep the defensive pressure on. Garland, Raby and Thomas must have a good shooting night in order for Lynchburg to come out victorious. Expect a low scoring game with lots of defense with Moore County stretching a lead up to 10 points before pulling out a victory.
  12. from what I've gathered this far into the season, I like Huntland, Chapel Hill or Cascade to finish second.
  13. After a great win at Lincoln County, the girls from Lynchburg will get back into the district schedule against an improved MTCS team in Murfreesboro Friday night. With a few games in the district under both teams' belts, it is becoming a little clearer on the district powers. Expect Moore County to continue stepping up on defense, as this is becoming more and more the team I expected to see. Look for the Raiderettes to generate some steals and push the ball on transition. Expect Garland and Raby to dominate at both ends of the court as well as improved play from Camp, Limbaugh and Thomas. The girls are getting some valuable minutes also from Ray, Williams and Lemon. Look for a close game early with the Raiderettes stretching out to a 15-20 point win by the end.
  14. Another great test for the Raiderettes from Lynchburg as they will be facing a very quick guard oriented Lincoln County team that Coach Hardin has this year. Look for a good man to man defense from both teams and a lot of ball pressure. Look for the team with the fewest turnovers to prevail in this game. Also look for Moore County to try to pound the ball inside to raby. If Moore County can stay out of foul trouble, I like the girls from Lynchburg to win a close one.
  15. District 9A has a few good teams as well, with Moore County, Forrest, Huntland and Cascade leading the way. Look for the Raiderettes from Lynchburg to be in the mix in March.
  16. Chapel Hill will come ready to play as Coach Jean always is; if Moore County doesn't stay out of foul trouble it could be a long night; otherwise the girls from Lynchburg should take care of business.
  17. Moore County Raiderettes rebound big time from their early loss against a very talented Summertown team. Without point guard Kelsey Camp, the girls were forced to play different positions, but still came out on top against a very physical Franklin County team. Large improvement from the bench, getting the younger girls plenty of action.Defensively, Moore County took a big step proving why they should be taken seriously winning 39-23.
  18. Moore County Raiderettes brought it in the first half and left it in the dressing room at half-time. Too many mental errors tonight. Not blocking out on free throws, travelling violations, you can't play not to lose which is what it looked like from the stands they were doing. No one wanted to take over in the third quarter, which was the difference in the game in my opinion. Loretto never gave up, though, you have to give Greg and the girls credit. They fought all night long. Not the way we wanted to see the season end, nevertheless girls Moore County is still proud of you!! Congrats do go out to Junior Rachel Garland as well as senior Heather Vann for eclipsing the 1500 point plateau for their careers.
  19. The girls from Lynchburg must travel to Loretto to face a very talented Loretto team who has pulled the stunner with two victories over Wayne County this year. Hopefully the Raiderettes can get their legs back under them and get mentally prepared to win on the road. It's not where we wanted to b playing, but at least we are getting the chance to play. LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FLOOR LADIES!! OFFENSE WINS GAMES, BUT DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!
  20. Unbelievable shooting tonight from the Lady Rockets. Moore County got outplayed the entire game. Good Luck to the Rockets against Wayne County. I hope you saved some three balls.
  21. Here we go again! Looks like it should be another thriller of a game. This game will be a real test of defensive pressure! I look for Moore County to try to take the Curtner girls out of their rythym, while keeping a lot of pressure on the ball and a hand in the shooter's face. Moore County has too many play makers for Forrest to guard. I like Moore County by 12.
