  1. When I say tall, I don't really mean just an inside game on the offensive end. On defense, having a tall player changes how the other team plays, if the player is good on help side defense. On offense, it means he will be able to get his shot off much easier. For anyone who has seen him, how tall is he actually? Closer to 6'7 or 6'5?
  2. I think that Friendship will be in the championship game. What determines if they win, is how easily they make it through their games. If it is fairly easy, I am thinking the other side might just wear each other out. It is 3 games in 3 days, and most of the single A teams have very little depth. The team with the easier path will have an advantage.
  3. To Takeahack's post, My favorite part of that link is that you can see that Lipscomb stayed in Tennessee for almost all of their talent. As for the game, Wartburg will want to keep the game slow. Having a Mr. Basketball candidate, especially one that is tall, gives you a chance in any game. If it gets fast, I believe PC will have a definite edge.
  4. Have to give credit to Summertown for never giving up. They're a touch bunch. I thought Franklin was going to start hitting threes from half court. She just kept stepping back and hitting them. Her air ball may have been the best pass of the game.
  5. You just have to make free throws. Missing a front end, followed by missing four straight free throws, is just not going to win a close game. Gotta feel for the young girl.
  6. There are 7A's in Arkansas High School Basketball. And I believe they only made it to the Quarters. Not saying it's not a good win, just wanted to clarify it. I don't know much about the talent level in Arkansas.
  7. When I think of Liberty, I never think about the stars they have had. I remember them playing hard on every possession, and that full-court press.
  8. Haven't gotten to watch McEwen, but would anyone consider them the toughest match-up for any of the teams in State because of their size?
  9. I'm not from Jackson, but I always enjoy watching Liberty at State. Probably my favorite team to just sit back and watch at the Boro.
  10. PC by 5 in a fairly low scoring game. 49-44
  11. I wasn't comparing teams and games. I was backing up the statement that a team in substate should never be underestimated. Clarksville Academy overlooked Perry last year and paid for it. Records mean nothing at this point in the year, so everyone might as well stop paying attention to those. That one lose PC had in substate, it was against a DCA team that was heavily favored because of their size and record, against a PC team that was at .500 before tourney time began. PC came one free throw away from winning.
  12. NEVER underestimate a team in the substate. If only I had a game to pinpoint recently as an example... Maybe PC from last year would work?
  13. It would be nice to keep it all in Region 6, but if that were to happen, I don't think D12 would want to share.
  14. It's a back-handed compliment. You say that they play hard, but then you say that BTW played the "worst" game they have played in two years. This is a slap at Middleton because you are saying that they played as hard as they could and still couldn't beat BTW playing the "worst" they have played over the past two years. You never connected that BTW played poorly because of Middleton.
  15. Yes, because it can't be that Middleton was one of the few decent teams they played all year. I don't like it when a team wins a game, and afterwards someone says that it was the worst game they've played all year. In your case, two years in which they've been beaten by 15 or more in a few games. It's disrespectful to a good Middleton team.
