  1. Jackson County will be traveling down there tomorrow for a game at 1 o'clock!
  2. Well, JC committed stupid errors and FCS did as any good team should and capitalized on the errors in the first and second innings, after that... fairly even game. Congrats to FCS hope to see them again in Murfreesboro!
  3. well buddy, seems like someone has counted their chickens already... afraid some of em might not hatch... the regular season means nothing anymore... JC is 4-0 and FC is 4-0 and with JC actually throwing a real pitcher tomorrow night rather than their 8th 9th and 10th pitchers, ya better watch out
  4. last time i checked, yall only beat trousdale by 1 run and 3 runs i believe was the other, and JC beat em by 10!! Keep thinking yall are untouchable and JC may take you down a few notches
  5. Game will be played tomorrow night at 7 o'clock at Jackson County. Let's hope JC can take down the richie rich kids from the University of Friendship Christian. I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!
  6. Jackson County makes club history and secure their spot in the Sub-state! Beat Trousdale County tonight 10-0. Thoughts and prayers still go out to the Trousdale County squad. The 2nd basemen, who played with broken collar bone.... WOW!!! That kid has heart and wants to play. Let's see how Wednesday night goes now.
  7. I agree with you. The only team in the district who has taken JC 7 innings this year is Clarkrange... they still lost that game 22-2!!! I believe the MVP and Pitcher of the Year both go to JC athletes. I still think Stewart has a chance at the MVP award. He has been a wall at 3rd his whole career, batting wise, he hasn't been too hot at the plate until this year. He is one of them kids that when he is at the plate, he is getting a hit, or is advancing the runners, and has hit safely in 15 of the teams 17 games. He probably has a slim lead for RBI's in the district. Driver is another great choice. He is another just like Stewart who is knocking in runs or advancing runners, and to top it off he is the Valedictorian for the senior class! (I know that doesn't come into account for MVP, but still!) These boys are putting JC baseball on the map!
  8. Evan Key could be a valuable players on any team in the district. However, the 7 HR number might have an * by it since the PC field is about 290 all the way around, but he is a great player nonetheless. JC has 2 players, Justin Stewart and Peyton Ragland hitting over .450 Ragland with 3 HR, 20+ RBI and has only struck out once. Justin Stewart has a HR and many RBI's as well, but he does hit 5th in the line-up and JC's 1-4 hitters get on often. Peyton Ragland hits second, so his RBI's are a bit tougher to come by. One thing Stewart does have on Ragland is he is much more consistant in the field, but Ragland still gets my vote. Give Collier his plaque already. There is no question there, the kid gets 10+ K's everynight I have seen him throw and doesn't walk many now-a-days. Good Luck to the Blue Devils the rest of the season.
  9. I agree, but JC doesnt throw their #1 or #2 against non-district teams, other than maybe one inning. Plus, you may not know this, but JC hits mid 80s pitching sometimes better than they do the 70- pitching. That is what makes them a somewhat special team.
  10. The regular season district schedule is coming to a close. Who is going to come away with the District 7A MVP? I would include the Pitcher of the Year in this topic, but I believe Jordan Collier has his 3rd straight and there really is no competition for him in this District. What do y'all think?
  11. Coach Bush was a HUGE pick up for JC. He played at Freed and has been working with the boys in the cages. Jackson Co. can get a hit at any point in their line-up. This is the best I have seen them 1-9 in the line-up. The biggest point of improvement has to be the hitting of Justin Stewart. He lead the team in strikeouts last year with 76, but this year he is quite possibly leading the team in batting average. As long as they keep hitting the ball and stay solid in the field, they could still be playing after graduation.
  12. Have you seen the rest of their schedule? Outside of their district, JC has not really played any slack teams. They have played and beaten Livingston. Lost a 2 run game to McMinn Central, (may be wrong on number of runs, but i know that game went 7 innings.) They still have to play Smith Co. The point is just because they are in a weak district, doesn't mean they won't compete against 8A. If JC was in 8A they would shake things up there and could compete for the championship there as well. Don't ever count a small team like JC out, they have a lot of heart, and a lot of times the heart of a team can beat talent of another.
  13. So, are you saying that everyone else will pump it up a notch and JC won't? Because honestly, only one team has came into JC and got a win this year. That was Gordonsville, and the game was played with one umpire. JC is going to bring it come tournament time. Great group of kids that love to play baseball. Drive by the field on the weekends, you'll see some of the boys down there working and getting better.
  14. JC beat Watertown tonight 6-2, so it looks like they are doing fine in Region 4, they have already split with Gordonsville, beat Watertown twice, and lost to FCS in a game where JC pitched 2 kids who had never stepped foot on a mound before. So it obviously seems they can compete in this Region. They will have one more test in Trousdale Co. right before tournament time.
  15. JC improves to 6-0 and cliches #1 Seed in District 7-A tournament. I also got my wish to see more balls leave the yard, Stewart hit his first career HR tonight in the top of the 5th to make the final score, JC 14 - Monterey 0.
