Pitching is definitely the difference between Powell, AC, Halls, and somewhat Hardin Valley compared to the other teams. Anderson County has the best 1 and 2 with Durand and Williams, while Powell and Halls both have very solid pitching. Owenby has shown a ton so far early in the year. Top pitchers in the district would have to be in no specific order: Owenby, Durand, Williams, and Barkley (Injured hand right now). They have all proven themselves and should continue it from what I have seen in the past summer, fall, and now high school seasons. Good luck to all the teams it should be a great finish like always in what is one of the top AAA districts in the state.

The Powell vs. AC game was a wonderful pitching matchup. This was a great chance to see the top 2 teams in the district go at it early and that is what they both did. Owenby (Powell) and Durand (AC) both threw complete games allowing 1 and 2 runs respectively. To my knowledge, both of these guys are getting big D1 looks from many places including Tennessee and UK. The hitting on both teams was definitely struggling and could not compete with either lefty. I'm sure Powell's hitting will definitely come around, but I am not really sure how AC will be just yet. They will both need great pitching performances for the rest of the season to be able to beat most teams in their district. AC= Pitching with Durand and Williams. Powell= Owenby and HITTING. Can't wait to see these teams later in the year and where these few prospects end up.

5 of Durand's 7 were unearned is what I calculated. And 1 of Williams 4 were unearned as well. I expect huge things from what I have saw in the past out of these two. Just wondering if the defense behind them can give any help.
