  1. Same guy (Cortes) applied and interviewed at Clinton in 2011. Of all who interviewed he looked to be the guy. Very interesting. I looked up his coaching history and was very impressed. Maybe he didnt even apply for OR. Wonder why with such a resume he is a DC at Lenoir. They are obviously improved though. Heck while were talking Lenoir Why not look at the head man over there. He turned that program around.
  2. A friend whose kid plays for cath, but lives here in Anderson County told me he thought Zellner would be the man. Did they even go after Zellner from Lenoir? That would have been a good hire. He runs a wide open offense. He also lost his dc and best rb to Catholic, two studs to Kwest and another to somewhere else and smacked them all in response.
  3. Sounds like the same guy who interviewed at Clinton two years ago. When the prin. Posted all the names in the paper I looked him up and posted about him back then. Catholic should not hire him though. You guys should hire this guy named Kerr (hint.....not Larry)
  4. The bridge was burned when every applicant was outed in the paper and then they interview quality candidates and the prin. Tells the paper that the top three were already working in the building. I don't remember all of them but the double mint twins, California guy and hammontree are the first to mind.
  5. Well dont blame this feller for the mistakes of those who hired him. He didn't falsely represent himself. We knew coming in what type of coach he was. They interviewed good candidates but burned a bridge with all of them. It will be very difficult to get them to reapply after the way our princpal threw them under the newspaper truck.
  6. Clinton's biggest problem currently is the transfer named Eric Snider.
  7. At this point on everyones win list.. Kidding. Trying to lighten the mood. Don't judge us by our "cover" If you ever watched Andy Griffith then you'll get what I'm about to say. Don't judge Mayberry if the only people you met were Goober, Gomer, Barney, and Otis. The principal is more of an Otis. Unfortunately there are no signs of alcohol, so he does not have an excuse. He isn't from here so put him on your list. We all just want a good football program. If you are one of those four mentioned that were insulted publicly by the comments in the paper, I promise we are angry for you and wish as much as you do that you or one of the others had gotten the job. I went into the weekend wanting to know details about the process, now I don't want to know. Sorry there bud.
  8. I just read that. Those were the top 3? Who did you interview? If Kerr, Herrell, and Shinlever(misp.) are the top three then one must assume you're other four were the local youth league coaches. The principal wasn't on the panel !?! Who was on that panel? Who were the others interviewed? I heard Cortez, Hammontree, Price, and Wells. Not sure if it is true or not, but If this is true then it is pretty tacky by the principal to name a top three that doesn't mention these. He is definitely not from around here when he publicly insults veteran coaches especially the ones from around here. He is the south side of a north bound mule!!
  9. If I ask my son who the best coach would be he would say Herrell then Kerr. If I ask him when his curfew should be he would say "no curfew". Theres a reason why there is an age limit to drive, to drink, etc.. BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THAT KIDS NEED DIRECTION!!! If you think He's the best man for the program (not just for the 2011 season) that's fine, but please don't say that the opinion (which we should respect but not abide by) of teenagers should be a deciding factor. I like the guy too, but like can't be a reason to put someone in such a position. I do agree that we can't judge by White County because the two are not the same. Think on this..Would he have the job if he had the same skills, same resume, but a different last name? If the answer is yes then we can move on. None of us can answer that because we don't even know who decided on this. We are not even sure who they interviewed. IF they just interviewed him, price squared, and Herrell then I would choose him too. Will he teach our kids to be better men? Better students? Better Christians? If so, the rest is unimportant. Please don't tell us the job was given to the guy the kids call "buddy". That's pretty scary to a parent
  10. Well well well. What a not fun thing to talk about today. Unfun and uneventful waste of six other interviews. Way to get our little hopes up Clinton. The good news about all this is Bin Laden is dead and that is way more important than Anderson County politics.
  11. I don't really know either, it just made for some fun interaction. I only know what I find on google and if their names don't pop up on the first page I assume they don't have a lot of experience (can be a good thing I know) Some of them had some real good qualities but I know their resume and location won't get them in the door for the interview. It's kinda fun guessing who of the 33 are one of the 7. We only know (on this board) of 3. We should do a pool like NCAA tourney and make this real fun.
