Social, I still think its attitude more than anything on defence. If you look at the starters on D friday night. We were pretty old and not lacking experiance. With the exception of a freshman lineman and a sophomore corner. The lineman lacks playing time, and the corner has started every game this year. The rest were pretty much jr and sr. We were missing a starting senoir corner and they picked on that spot pretty good. We all know that kid and he will get better in time. He's only been here since week 0. Its attitude and general dislike for your opponent, you know what I mean. And dont think for a second Im leaving my maverick out. He's done pretty good this year since CAK, but he deffinately has room for improvement. He cant do anything about his size, but some of the best players we've ever had were'nt 160lbs soaking wet. I think thats the best line up on D all year. We have to play both ways to have a shot at the play-offs. HOOKEM'HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

H-mac should be maverick of the week 2 weeks in a row. Coming out of the spring he was my pick for "most improved maverick". Heck, he's working on "MAVERICK OF THE YEAR". HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mavx, like I said before the defence stunk in the 1st half and 3rd qtr. When we needed a stop or 2 in 4th, we got it. Thats a start in the right direction? HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree mavx, offence sells tickets. Defence wins football games. The sooner our coaches and players realize that we have the luxery of scoring 59 points a game anymore. The sooner we will start playing a little defence. I really think the coaches are adjusting all they can. Versus Halls, that was the stoutest line-up Ive seen on defence all year minus 1 starting corner. If they will stick with that, I think we'll get better. They have to play together a few games to reach their potential. Hey conan, I also agree with you. If it looks shakey at QB, bring in the next in line. We got plenty of playmakers at rec. to plug in his spot. HOOK EM HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeo,check my post from page 1. I'll have more to say when I see how practice goes this week, and we await to hear about Zulliger's status. I hope his back. You dont like to see any kid sidelined for injuries. Good luck to both teams on an injury free game. We get 1 of our injured back this week, so that cant hurt. Still got to get better on defence!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O ya, this is not the same ole Halls. They are finally running an offence that suits their players. They were down in numbers, and depth. Halls will start getting better in years to come. Proud of AC this week. This team needed a come from behind win. The defence stunck in the 1st half and 3rd qtr. Im kinda the same as everybody else. With Zulliger, the ridge wins. Without Zulliger, I think we have a decent shot. I said a decent shot, we still have improvement on defence to work on all week. HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were truly embarressed by the Panthers last week. I expect these kids will come out ready to prove themselves not soft and begin to play as a unit on both sides of the ball. AC 34-7. HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been brought to my attention that I might have tried to inflate the #22 stats from the Powell game. As if anyone cares. LOL. I watched my own personal game film for te 2nd and 3rd time (which was very hard to do by the way)LOL. Then looked at my post earlier in the thread and sure enough its wrong. The solo takles was a type-o, cause I knew he only had 1, on the oppisite side of the field on a good hustle play. I did get his assists wrong. He only had 3. The other 2 were different numbers. 1 knock down in the end zone on a 2pt conv. I also forgot he had 1 carry for -3 yards. Just wanted to clear that up. I wont mention any names or #s, because you never know how other people feel about that. Watching the tape again there was heart and hustle from the ussual guys. 2 of our rec. gave it everything they got all night. Our offensive line in the pass game was great all night. QB had time to throw. 2 defensive lineman played well all night, if they didnt make the play at the line of scrimmage they were hustling to make it up. Our big RB in what little running game we had. Other than that, we just got played right off the field. I still got faith, we can still do alot of good this year. I just hope we got the right attitude and this team will pull together and play as a unit. HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Opressed the whole sophomore class is trying but there is only so much they can do until its time or the coaches themselves chalk this up as a rebuilding year and start over. Maybe it wont get to that. I hope not. There are some very good senoirs on this team. Hopefully they'll get it going at the right time. We are 2-1 in the district and in control of our own play-off destiny. There's plenty of football left. I aint give up yet.

Oskie, I agree 90% of it is not coaching. There's a few things could be done dirrerent but most of it is Jimmies and joes. I just wish they would come together and start playing as a unit. Both sides of the ball.

Oppressed, I agree with everything you said. As for the DC, he cant go out on the field and tackle for them. I have a son on the defence that starts. He was embarresed by our performance, but happy with his individual play. Finished the night with 3 solos and 5 assists and 1 knock down in the endzone on a 2pt conversion. He said he give it all he had. Friday night was like its been all year in our big games. These kids dont want it bad enough. There is no leadership from the upperclassmen. The lack of desire to go out and play the game of football is sickening to watch from this years group of Mavericks. Worst I have ever seen. I wish the younger kids that are playing would just take over now and start building the attitude of the future, because its all that we seem to have left

We dont know that for sure. What we do know is when the play breaks down, Hicks can run. Which may make him better just in that sence. We havent seen Hicks in the spread relying on his arm alone. I know something has to give, its time for a change.

OHS I think its 6 before you get benched, #11 only had 5. LOL. #5 was playing rec. most of th night. We tried #5 at qb, it didnt matter, our kids looked like they knew they would lose this game back in August. Our swiss cheese defensive set is not working either.

Ac certainly can not. Period.

Piss poor effort from the Mavericks tonight to say the least. There were 2 or 3 good individual efforts but really not worth mentioning in a 53-16 slaughter.

Pretty good week of practice up this way. I dont know what happened but we are pretty busted up all the sudden. Looks like a dad gum mash unit up here. Injuries or not I think these kids will play tough this week, their sick of hearing about how good Powell is and how we're not as strong as everybody else. Not sure whether it will be enough but the Panthers will know they've been in a game by the time its over. I think they just simply out-talent us friday night, but you never can tell. Thats why we're playing the game. Im hoping these boys can rise to the occasion. Hey Jeo, AC aint losing to Clinton anytime soon. HTV, I fully understand Mobley is not all Powell has. I think you limit him to 1 TD, if possible, and we've got a shot. I wasnt impressed with their passing game, unless it does a 180. Their defence is good but not like last year. All this does not matter if we turn the ball over and continue to commit so many penalties. Period...... HOOK EM' HORNS DEFENCE HAS TO WIN THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
