  1. Congratulations to the 26-2 Lady Bobcats who repeated as District 7A Tournament Champions against the always tough Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes. Clarkrange handed Pickett County their only 2 losses of the season but before a packed and loud gym PC led all but once after Clarkrange led 8-7 and PC led by as many as 11 before falling behind 48-45. But PC came right back to retake the lead and pulled away to win by 7, 63-56. Courtney Pritchett was named MVP and had 28 points, 6 steals and 10 rebounds. Abbi Buck, Aaliyah Brown, Savannah Hammock and Kassidy Geesling were on the All Tournament team. Also named from Clarkrange were Gracie Bush, Hannah Garrett and Kara Meadows. Clay Co: Taylor Strong and Jada Kerr and from Jackson county Kyleigh Hardy. (I think this is correct. If not I hope someone will correct it) These two teams are almost certain to match up again in the region final. Congratulations to both on outstanding seasons and best of luck with BOTH going to state!.
  2. They will be on the district all tournament team...there are a lot more football players than basketball players.
  3. No it has to do with how good of a player they are. Clay Co was 4th and PC beat them easily in their meetings. I looked it up. One was 86-50 and The other was 70 something to 50. Where were the Clay Co players in those games? I don't blame them for being upset. It would be like if Hannah Garrett was picked only 3rd team, We'd be mad too.
  4. I sat with friends from Pickett Co last night and then stayed for their game. They were upset that Savannah Hammock and Aaliyah Brown were 3rd team while 4th place Clay Co had 2 first teamers. I watched the PC/JC game and have to agree. If you come in 4th then you must not have had 2 first teamers. Aaliyah scored 19 and Savannah 17 and they said they had been doing that all year. I think the Clay girls are good but didn't look all that good against us last night. Who picks the district teams? Charity should have been 2nd team. They were also upset that on the boys' freshman team Parker Gore who started on the 2nd place team wasn't freshman of the year while a nonstarter got it. I told them I'd post this. I'll watch to see how good Parker is tonight...hate that our Buffaloes are done. Lots of potential for next year!!!
  5. Most everyone who saw the qame wondered why starters were taken out when they hit 3s and players who hadn't played much all year played so much.
  6. Have they replaced him yet? Does it have anything to do with "losing" to Pickett Co. and not playing starters a lot in that game much (in the region) and then blasting Gordonsville in the next game? Which conveniently meant they didn't face Clay co in the semi-finals?
  7. I think Kara will be Miss Basketball. I think a lot for PC depends on Buck getting back on track but they have a lot of good young players.
  8. That is what I heard since posting this. Hope she'll be playing summer basketball.
  9. I hope Kara Meadows is back to 100%. Some people are saying she is going to York this next year...any truth to that?
  10. No, Pickett had 3 seniors, a junior and sophomore starting, but another soph played a lot and I think they had some good freshmen and I heard they have a super 8th grader coming up. Clarkrange will be the favorite and Pickett will be good. I keep hearing Kara is going to York...true or not?
  11. Why do the officials allow flops...especially on missed threes. Clay Co's Key flops every game...4 times in their last game...NO Ts called! Why is this not enforced??????
  12. So I guess we're just making excuses too with our Kara Meadows out. I am pretty sure they won't be playing any AAA schools in the district tournament, region, substate, etc. We won't either. We're young but good and we don't expect to be as strong without Kara and losing our other starter. I get sick of reading the all these nasty comments too. Why don't you talk about your own teams instead of jumping all over everyone? When Molly Heady was hurt for us a few years ago were we supposed to be as good? Injuries hurt teams. That is a fact. Why are you talking about White Co? Isn't that your school?
  13. ZST...wrong. If JC and Pickett tie, they flip a coin since they split during the season. We won so forget about the officials. Pickett thought they all went against them too. Great game and great comeback. I heard their coach was bad and he proved it. They were hot and hit a three and went up by 9 with about 5 minutes to go and what does he do? Subs!!! he must have thought the game was over and underestimated the Buffaloes. 9 is nothing for them to catch up. Keep rolling!
  14. Agree...anything can still happen with the schedule left. Monterey isn't playing as well and could lose some, Coach Edwards always has his team rolling by now, Jackson is in every game, Pickett is loaded but ever since that coach came they start out great and then fade away...why do they keep him? It helps everyone else though! I think Clarkrange will win the district but with Goodpasture in the region and not in a private school division like they should be, Buffaloes will have to go on the road for the substate if they make it to the region finals. Boyd Buchanan, Marion Co., Arts & Sciences and Copper Bason are the best Chattanooga area teams.
  15. Both teams looked bad, while the Buffaloes looked really bad. What was their shooting percentage...3%...2%? Actually I'd be surprised if it was over 20%. They were just awful! But, they have talent and once they get into shape, I believe they'll be much better. It didn't count, so it is OK. They hussled...no slacking, but couldn't make their shots and looked disorganized.
  16. They look ready for #9 in March. Good thing neither of the boys' teams had to play either of the girls teams...they would have gotten smoked!
  17. JC big if the PC coaching isn't any better than against York. Clarkrange/Monterey was cancelled and a lot of Clarkrange fans went to the PC/York game...not much of a game. He left in #10. She couldn't catch the ball, seems to not know where she's supposed to be, wouldn't rebound or move for the ball, but played almost the whole game. She was 10' from her player twice which resulted in 2 easy 3's. Several subs looked way better than 10. Maybe she just had a terrible game against York. Garner, Garrett and Gibson looked good. Against Clarkrange the PC girls looked good in the 2nd half and were only outscored by 2 points and that was against the starters, not the subs. It could be a great game, but most likely not. Not much to say about JC except Clarkrange will be the one to sweep this year!
  18. Clarkrange 72 JC 59 After seeing them take apart Forrest, I think they'll be ready for JC.
  19. I agree that Forrest has a lot of talent and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in Murfeesboro...but the way Clarkrange was up by more than 30 points, it shows that this has to be one of the best Lady Buffalo teams ever. Plus, they played a lot of players throughout the game. Congratulations Clarkrange.
  20. Does anyone know when York, Clarkrange or Pickett Co will be having scrimages? Thanks
  21. Does anyone know of when York or Clarkrange or Pickett county will be having scrimages? Thanks
  22. Dawg05 is also so bitter and jealous...how sad. Are you the guy who was giving thumbs down (about 3rd row from the bottom Celina side) and giving the finger to the Bobcat team when they were getting their awards? The guy with curly blong hair and a gray t-shirt? Many PC fans stood and cheered for the Buffalo boys when they got their pics taken.
  23. Pickett was down by 18 with just a couple minutes to go in the 3rd quarter & scored 16 straight on Celina, tied the game at 58 all and went on to beat them ending Celina's season. Pickett was also picked as the possible surprise team of the tournament and they are.
  24. "Buddy" ...just a little touchy aren't you? York also had starters out because unlike Cookeville, they did win their first football playoff game, so I guess we could say the same thing...Cookeville was basically playing the York JV team and York still won. The best part remains that strange holding of the ball with over 2 minutes in the half. Cookeville was a huge favorite, yet held the ball wasting all those scoring opportunities. Also, why didn't the coach utilize their other big player? He looked like their best player but he sat on the bench most of the game.
