  1. Once again, you make comments on things that you "misinterpreted" in an uneducated fashion. When I make an obvious comment (due to the fact that I practiced with them daily and had a real relationship with my players) everybody gets up in arms. I have said what I wanted to say and will end my posting with irrelevant individuals like yourself. You should probably join a book club as much as you blog like it's facebook, very masculine I must say.
  2. CoachF, You are certainly wlecome and I am grateful for the opportunity as well. There has never been a lie told by me regarding my experience with the Eagles. If you ever review any post that I have made (which aren't many because unlike most of you, I have a better life than posting on a blog site with people who were has-beens or never-was'). When I initially posted, it was to defend the Eagles and you who got no respect last year. As soon as someone asks a question about the possibility of a repeat and I give my OPINION, it is met with allegations of lies. If you are going to make references of things that transpired during a practice, then tell the whole truth. Tell the bloggers how your offense could never score against my defense or vice-versa in practice (which is probably why I was at the other end "shooting baskets" with another player) and why I didn't have any direct input due to my ability. Tell them of the one-on-one time that I spent with the players working on their individual games and their mental toughness. Tell how an athletic banquet took place and you didn't even notify me, yet, people that were not even affiliated with the team was notified and you gave me my Asst. Coach of the Year plaque that was placed in your desk 4 weeks later. Tell how the team was gonna wal out on you and I encouraged them to stay and represent themselves, you, and the school. I never made a personal attack on you. You took offense when the obvious was stated. I hurt for the boys because I know how much they wanted and deserved the championship. I still have one more left that I will continue to support next year. In closing, thanks for the memories. It was a great ride. Good luck in all of your future coaching endeavors.
  3. It's always interesting to listen to people like you who have no clue or one single athletic bone in their body attempt to give commentary. What's even funnier is for me to listen to you try to justify what I said months ago was would happen. Check the record last year with me and the one without me. In closing, you don't know anything about basketball so keep your comments to yourself.
  4. Doctorno, I don't toot---just state facts. Whatever you think doesn't really matter to me at all, for the record. But, thanks for the well-wishes. And kbrks, I can see your angle. The context that I used should have been...East Lit has been TREATED like a doormat. It's a fact that every coach that I met this year or spoke with really even discussed EAST LIT as a contender.
  5. Just like I thought. You get a moron on here "5-Sport ####", whon thinks he knows everything. I have watched your idiotic posts all last year. Find a real job and stop hanging out on CoachT with your moronic commentary. You have and NEVER WILL know anything about basketball. So, keep jock-riding.
  6. Doctorno and coachrus, you must COMPREHEND what I am saying and not blindly give me your advice. If you read the post carefully, the point that I was making is that they will not reach their full potential because of the lack of motivation that they will have without me being their to motivate them. For the record, I am the epitome of TEAM. I don't need anyone else, especially anyone from a blog, to validate my abilities. A question was asked, and I answered. What people fail to realize, is coaching is about getting the most from your players. It's one of the biggest misconceptions that if a coach feels like their X's and O's are good, the team will be as well. The "ME" references meant that due to my caring about them, and not about winning, propelled us to a great season. Riddle me this, why do you think that they were a doormat until the year that I came? Trust me, it wasn't coincidence.
  7. Okay, so here's the deal. I have watched the posts on this site for the last year now and it's really amusing. As a former Assistant Coach from East Lit, it really was a disgrace to watch CPA get crowned from the beginning of the season and other teams picked to finish higher than EAST. In my first year of working with HS basketball, I was able to take a less talented team and teach them how to play with heart and against everyone else. What disappointed me the most was the fact that EAST LIT was the ONLY HS represented in Middle TN and received NO PRESS COVERAGE OR SUPPORT from our own city. Even to the point that I approached Rodney Dunigan, who stood next to me @ the State Championship game, and asked him WHY EAST LIT has yet to be interviewed. He could not offer ANY explanation whatsoever. This all leads to my point. EAST LIT achieved because I preached to them that all we had were each other. In case you are wondering, YES, I am a young AA male that was able to get my players to believe in themselves when no one else did. They played for each other and for ME. They will return to fight valiently, sadly, they won't reach their potential without me on the bench. CPA is the only team, IMO, that will have all cylinders clicking. Whether people love or hate them, they are the team to beat. Take this from someone who has studied every team night after night. CPA deserves to win it this year because they play for one another. That is the one thing that I admired most this year. Shaking hands and speaking personally to Jalen and Craig, they were fine, humble young men and I wish them well.
  8. So, who is considered to be the "1"? East Lit is the team to beat. Although the main cog in the machine is no longer assisting, they will still be tough. Not as tough as if I were still there, unfortunately.
  9. It's funny how people who don't have friends stick their nose in other people's affairs. I'm sorry that the truth hurts. Maybe you should find a hobby...or find a volleyball thread to comment on.
  10. Well, I have finally gotten to a point where I have to make a comment. I have been reading the threads on CoachT for about a year now. There seems to be a lot of EXPERTS on HS Bball on this site. Unfortunately, only the individuals that observe the kids on a daily basis can be the true commentators. I really like the fact that CPA4ever supports his Lions. What I admire most, is the fact that win, lose, or draw, he continues to post. I just have to say this for all the naysayers who have and continually discounts EL. We were the ONLY school to represent Middle Tennessee, yet, we couldn't even get publicity on the free public access channel(19). When anyone did bother to do a story, it was the worst commentary that could be given (15-30 secs). I do understand that they have traditionally been the doormat for everyone to walk on, but look at us now! What people fail to realize is the fact that the senios that were lost were only one of the MANY links in the chain. The non-seniors will be much stronger as a unit that this year's team. With that being said, just wait until the smoke clears to see the last team standing. So, good luck to all. Sadly, the component of the train that made the train run this year won't be along for the ride next year and they won't maximize their potential (and it's not the players either). Think about it!!!
