  14. If you read any of our threads you have seen that fc openly asked anyone for a scrimmage for the fall of this year. We chose from the people that responded and lined up teams that fit our dates. In the spring FC will scrimmage coffee county and Cookville both at Winchester. In the fall we will scrimmage Walker valley and Rhea County and our jv will scrimmage fayetville city high school so our younger players can get some good experience. We currently have 75+ players, sophomore through senior working out now. That does not count almost 20 of our spring athletes in soccer, track and baseball. We have an outstanding class of 8th graders coming up to play freshmen ball next year. I understand the criticism of the head coach but the kids are working very hard. We have 4 kids benching more than 300 pounds and one at 350. 44 more deadlifting more than 300 pounds and 7 that are 400+. We have 2 squatting over 500, 6 over 400 + and 25 over 300. Obviously weights does not mean you are good in football but they are trying to get better. You are welcome to visit this dumpster fire anytime you want. we are there everyday from 1:30 until 3 and Mon, wed and Fridays from 3 to 4 and view our clean facilities that our kids take great pride in looking sharp and clean.
  15. it would be like old times if coach brown is going back to Antioch. They need some stability, a hard worker and someone that can relate to the kids. No one else knows better what Antioch is about and how to fix it. It would be a huge get for Antioch if it can get coach brown. Many fond memories of being and working at antioch

  18. Congrats to coach Dobbs. The kids, parents, teachers and community are good people who love football. there will be some growing pains for a couple of years and hopefully people will be patient. They lose a great resource in coach Austin who was not only a great defensive guy but a master motivator in the weight room. One of the biggest problems with taking over a smaller program is having the teaching room to bring in other coaches, just not a lot of turnover from year to year with many people being life long residents of Lynchburg.
  19. Steve Carson would be a great guy for the job. As many have stated he did an incredible job at Eagleville and is already in the system. I will say this though. People may say what they want but Riverdale is not what he once was just because of the number of schools now located in Rutherford county. Coach A is a great coach, works incredibly hard and runs a great program. Almost anywhere else 88-35 would get you a statue but the bar there is almost unreachable. When you look back ten years from now it will be interesting to see what the overall record of the coach is. When you win almost 9 games a year and you still are not doing it right it almost becomes an unreal situation. I hope everyone gives the new coach plenty of time to "turn things around". if anyone has a murphy fair book you should look up his winning percentage, it will be very high and very impressive. Again if you think he and his staff were lazy and did not want to win you are crazy. He is one of the most competitive people I have ever met and he has not changed. I think it is very nice to have a job where you do not do your job in front of the whole community and your failures are so public. I know that it is our choice to be out there on Friday nights. We focus on the failures and not the successes.
  20. thanks for all of the calls. we are now full for fall scrimmages
  21. Franklin county, located in Winchester, Tennessee is looking for at least two fall football scrimmages to add to their workload. If interested please contact coach scott smith at 615-210-9707 or by email at scott.smith@fcstn.net. we would love to host but will also consider travel. Thanks
  22. rampage, your are right. TJ Christian would be a great coach for the job. He has kids in the county and did a great job as a defensive coordinator while there. It would be a huge loss for Franklin county because of his importance to the offense but i hope he does what is best for him and his family.
  23. coach Austin is a great football coach and even a better man. He gave everything he had to the kids and the program. no one loved moore county more or gave more. two years is never long enough to prove your value as a head coach. everything now days has matriculated into the same thing as the pro game and the college game. If things do not work fast, get rid of the coach and give some else a shot. People do not get into coaching to get rich. Jeremy will have left in his six years there having affected lots of young men and women in a very positive way. A football coach is just like any other job except it is spot lighted on 10 and if you happen to get lucky 15 Friday nights each year in the fall. Many do not see the sacrifice that each coach makes to his own family and he helps raise and turn boys into men. For every hour of games played under the lights there are hundreds more in the weight room, practice field and at home in front of a computer or a tv watching film of the next weeks opponent. Just like everyone I know no one ever wants to lose and coaches do not get into coaching to ever lose, we all hate it. So whether coach mac comes back or it is someone else it is still the loss of a great guy and a fantastic football coach who happens to be one of my good friends. The life of most coaches is a life of a wanderer, some by choice, some by circumstance. Bear Bryant, who my son is named after, said there were only two types of coaches, those that are fired, and those that will be. We live in a magical age of twitter, blogs, insta- gramming in which anyone that can type can put up truths and untruths about anyone whether they have any truth to them or not. So instant results are usually demanded and when not met dealt with harshly. the only thing I do know is that Jeremy and his family will rebound and rebuild and someone will be lucky to have him. That is what kind of person he is and the person that he taught his kids to be while he coached them. He will learn and move on.
