  1. Richland has formally hired Lovelace as the Head Coach...it will be interesting to see what the Raiders do for this new coach. If anyone has any information, that would be great.
  2. He will probably go as whatever someone will take him for. He has to find a job because they let him go as a coach and a teacher. I don't know what his plans are and don't really care because he is gone from Richland. Whoever is crazy enough to hire him as a coach will have their hands full.
  3. Rumor has it that our lame duck coach is heading your way to be Slatten's assistant or to Cornersville to be the coach there. If he goes to Cornersville, he'll be cellar dwelling once again. If he chooses Culleoka, he may be able to destroy another top team. If I were you culleokarep, I would be shaking if he walked through the doors up there.
  4. I believe that the new coach, Jason Lovelace, will be named next week. He is a graduate of RHS and will be a great addition to a school who is searching for an identity. Hooray for RHS!! Final got a coach who will restore Coach Clark and his legacy of basketball. Look for RHS to push for the title!!! This team has some great young talent (that wouldn't play for Miller) and some savvy veterns. GOOD RIDANCE TO COACH MILLER AND HIS LAME COACHING STYLES!!
  5. Richland seems to be doing the smart thing. They have finally released their coach and are bringing a very talented coach who knows what Richland basketball is all about! The Riaders will finish in the Top 3 and challenge for the District Title!! It was rumored a few players weren't going to play for Miller, but will now play for the new coach who will be named soon!! I can't wait to watch the Runnin' Raiders play ball next year!! WATCH OUT CULLY!!! HERE COME THE RAIDERS!! (and I don't mean Moore Co.)
  6. He was coaching at the previous tournament your team played. I heard he was coaching them last weekend also.
  7. The team is returning three starters (1 junior and 2 sophmores) along with three key role players (1 junior, 1 sophmore, and 1 freshman) they also have some very talented players on the bench and coming up from the 8th grade. The only thing they lack is discipline which I believe starts with the coach. he has got to make this talented group listen to him. I don't think he can do that.
  8. With one team still in season, I thought this might be a good chance to look at the future of District 11A. I believe that this may be a runaway for Moore Co. All of the teams are losing quite a few seniors. C.A. - - 6 or 7 seniors most of which played the majority Cully - - 4 seniors 3 of which led the high powered team Cornersville - - 1 senior who played with heart and desire Huntland - - 4 or 5 seniors all of which contributed to their success Moore Co. - - 1 or 2 seniors none of which held major P.T. Richland - - 2 seniors both All-District and hopfully one coach Santa Fe - - 2 seniors both All-District (MVP) My Predictions: 1) Moore Co. 2) Cully 3) C.A. 4) Richland (could be higher with right coach) 5.)Huntland 6) Cornersville 7) Santa Fe Any thoughts?
  9. Is there anyone more deserving of the Tourney MVP than Heginbottom?? He has absolutely carried his team through this tourney. I believe he deserves it the most. Anyone else wanna way in??
  10. I have heard a lot of discussion about head coaching jobs opening up. I am fresh out of college looking for an opening. I have been told Marshall Co. (boys) is open as well as Culleoka (girls). Is this true? And are any more opening up??
  11. I know I haven't been the biggest supporter of the Richland coach; however, I have had time to sit down with someone close to the Richland athletic program that has opened my eyes to some problems that exist. I believe Richland can be a force to be reckoned with in the Tournament. I know Cully is the overwhelming favorite, but Richland can beat any of the remaining teams. They can beat any of the teams if they do a couple of things: 1) Quit being selfish: Play as a TEAM!! Like against C.A. and West Limestone. 2) Quit worrying about their parents like the junior high teams...like the coach or not, he is the one who controls PT. You have got to listen to him; he may know what he is talking about! 3) Don't worry about the crowd: they are not a part of the team!! 4) The administration needs to show their support for them. Let the crowd get a little crazy, finance necessary camps, etc. If Richland will be a team and listen to the team instead of ignoring the coach or fighting with each other, they may upset Huntland, surprise Cully, and spank either CA or Moore Co. GO RAIDERS!!!
  12. WIth teams having 2-4 games left, I believe that this district is closer than people think. Standings: Culleoka: 8-2 w/ Cornersville & Santa Fe CA: 7-2 w/ Cornersville, Moore Co., & Richland Huntland: 5-4 w/ Cornersville, Richland, & Santa Fe Moore Co.: 5-4 w/ CA, Cornersville, & Richland Richland: 5-4 w/ CA, Huntland, & Moore Co. Santa Fe: 2-7 w/ Culleoka & Huntland Cornersville: 0-8 w/ Culleoka, CA, Huntland, & Moore Co. Cornersville and Richland have the toughest remaining schedule to play; however if both teams go undefeated they could move up in the standings. Huntland, Moore Co., and Richland all could finish 3-5 depending on how they finish the season and could finish 2nd if CA faulters against Richland and Moore Co. These three teams are fight for a spot to play Santa Fe in the first round and not have to face Culleoka until the championship. What is the opinion of those involved in District 11A?
  13. I think it will finish up like this 1. Culleoka 2. Huntland 3. Moore Co. 4. C.A. I am a die-hard Richland fan; however, they have no shot as long as no one on the team cares. They mope onto the floor and off. At Halftime of the Culleoka game, half the team came up after play had begun. I know they were down three big players, but that means the rest need to hustle and buckle down. They showed no life, except for the spasmatic coach and a lunatic manager. Down ten at half, they still had a chance. None of the players listen to the coach, which is what was happening 3 years ago, they all do what they want to, like 3 years ago, and they don't care, unlike 3 years ago. I know they have set plays because you hear the coach screaming things at the top of his lungs. I am going to lay off the coach a while and put the blame squarely on THE PLAYERS!!!
  14. I have laid low and stood back and watched this team for the last few weeks. Now I am ready to start speaking again. This Richland team is loaded with talent from top to bottom. I think the coach is trying his hardest to have a TEAM! I don't think that the team wants a TEAM. One starter sat out last night, don't know why; however, he displayed his disgust out on the floor. That would have sent me into a tyraid as a coach. I think it is time to start those who wanna play defense and run the offense, not jack up 15-20 shots with 2-3 people guarding you. I think this team can compete with the best, and they already have: Eagleville-3 pt. game with chance to win. Wayne Co. @ W.C.-4 pt. game with chance to win (foul trouble). Culleoka-6 pt. game before cracking under first real pressure test. C.A. @ C.A.-won by 6 pts. after trailing by 19. Can Richland hang, yes if everyone will listen to the coach and if they don't sit 'em!!! GO RICHLAND!!!
  15. Does anyone have any thoughts about the Richland @ Mt. Pleasant game. I know Culleoka beat MPHS and RHS, and CA has beat MPHS. How does it look for the dysfunctional Raiders tonight in this region matchup?? COME ON RAIDERS!! TIGHTEN UP AS A TEAM!! THAT'S THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE GOING TO WIN!!
  16. I believe that Culleoka is the number one team in the district. Everyone has said that from the beginning. I still don't think that Richland is getting the respect they deserve. Richland played with Culleoka until 5:00 minutes left in the game, then the Raiders went cold, forcing shots, and being seflish. They didn't score the last 4 or 5 minutes of the game. Also, the coach didn't do anything to stop the run by Culleoka by standing with his arms crossed, staring at the floor. His lack of effort, along with poor officials for both sides, probably cost the Raiders the game.
  17. I agree with roper. This team has got to understand that they are not All-Americans, they will never be. They will be a good team if they play together and quit arguing and showboating. They showed fight and effort, just seemed frustrated with one another. All in all GREAT JOB RAIDERS!!!
  18. Looks like the Raiders maybe more than some teams thought. Eagleville had won their first three games by an average of 31 points, defeating Moore Co. and Santa Fe. Richland took them to the wire and had opportunities to win. This team played the best team basketball I have seen in two years!! However there were some questionable decisions made by the young coach. First, why is one of your best players still riding the pine four games into the season? Second, why did your leading scorer this season not start? And finally why does he wear a suit? No other coach in Tennessee wears a suit to a game. I think the Richland Raiders may want some respect from their district! GO RAIDERS!! KEEP FIGHTING!!
  19. I missed the tourney due to the holiday. What happened at Ardmore that I missed? All I have heard from the fans were positives from Saturday's game. Please catch me up on all the details!!
  20. I am sorry that I miss that game along with the boys. How did the girls look?? I hope to make to the games today if I can get in town quick enough!! GO LADY RAIDERS!!
  21. He is a kid who doesn't understand the common mistake of a misprint. He has to pick everything apart to find something wrong with another post. Previously, I spelt RAIDERS...Riaders, simple typing error when in a hurry. But that is ok, we play Sante Fe twice and hopefully what jamieroper is saying will come true and the Raiders will show this 'Cats and everyone else whose is better. P.S. What I have been told about the team from its players, people aren't holding up their ends of the deal. Education is first to the coach. For the first time I agree with Coach Miller, Education before Ball!! GO RAIDERS!! PULL TOGETHER AND STICK IT TO 'EM!!!
  22. I am tired of seeing my alma mater being disgraced on the floor. There was a time when teams were scared to play Richland. They had size and they had power. All this team shows me is glitz and show. Richland used to compete in the same district as Giles Co., a once powerful Marshall Co., and Lewis Co. They were able to advance to the Sub State and Region Championship. Now they move to 1A and can't beat Unionville and Sante Fe. Sharpie4014 is right, the coach has benched one of their star players and is starting 3 sophmores. I don't care who you are you don't bench an All-District player and possibly your MVP!! Then he turns around and benches his leading scorer in the Summertown game. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?!? I don't want to stir things up...I just want to see Richland winning some ball games!!!
  23. Being a dedicated fan to Richland Athletics, I have one question: Why does everyone hate on the Richland Basketball team? They work hard and play a competitve brand of ball, except for Friday (missing 50% of scoring down the stretch). I was the first to say that Richland could finish in the top two spots of the District. I still fell that way, however, Friday night tels me they haven't grown up from last year!! Why can't Richland get any love?? GOOD LUCK RIADERS!! KEEP FIGHTING!!
  24. Why is everyone making this out to be a personal onslaught against people posting their beliefs. This is for the kids to shine. The Richland/Summertown game was awesome. With some more experienced players, Richland may have capitalized on some key mistakes by Summertown. I think that Richland young players stepped up in a big way last night. Many of those who played last night have not played in many varsity games and have not played a team of this caliber. Both teams were suffering from injuries, but both handled it the best they could. Anyone who thinks Richland is the worst team in the 7 team district may need to rethink their stance. However if the Richland lets one game make their season they may fall to the lower bracket of teams GREAT EFFORT LADY RAIDERS!! KEEP YOUR HEADS UP!!!
  25. I believe Richland did get a lot of respect out of this game. It was close until one Richland's scorers went out with a stomach bug. Then the bone head coach took out the leading scorer with 4:00 left in the third quarter for a behind the back pass. 19 poitns sitting on the bench for almost the entire second half. Richland had 50% of its offense sitting out in Brock and Melear. My only question where is Coach Miller's head during this game. This is a Coach's loss not the teams'. Last season Summertown scored around 90 points with a decent team. This season they have a State Tourney contentding team and Richland made it a ballgame! MUCh RESPECT TO THE RAIDERS!! LOOK FOR THEM IN THE DISTRICT!!
