I bet Greenfield fan is looking for some rope right now.  Chloe Moore is a great Class A basketball player.  Probably will be Miss Basketball again but she is a Class A basketball player.  You can count on one hand the number of Class A players from TN that have played in the SEC.  It is a major jump in skill level.  She demonstrates night in and night out she is the best player on the floor against inferior talent.  She just hasn't played against the top tier talent in the country and that will or has hurt her. I am not knocking her at all because like many have said she would be my first pick if I had a Class A team. I hope she does go to Kentucky and I wish her the best in whatever she does because she has pounded Dresden for 4 years.

High school basketball isn't typically where the top players get the looks of major college coaches. Chloe has been playing against some of the top talent from all over the country on the Exposure ball circuit for years. Coaches/ Recruiters from every team attend these tournaments because it's a one stop shop where they can evaluate all the best players in one location & they have all had their eyes on Chloe. The interest is there and my guess is she's being patient and taking every offer or school of interest into account to make the best decision for herself and her family. Everyone can see the amazing player she is on the court but to know her off the court, you see what type of high caliber, high moral, family minded young woman she is. She is going to have a bright future wherever she chooses & the team will be better by having her on it. It's been a blessing to watch her play all these years.

the more i think about it. baugus throw a horrific pick 6 against Riverside and played bad in the state title game. how on earth did he win. mcclendon in hi slast game rushed for 5 tds almost 300 yards and didnt even make the top 3. not political at all right. baugus wasnt even the 5th best player on his own team.

Not sure why you have some fascination with Baugus but as I stated on the other post, your bashing a player based on the two games you happened to listen to or watch because your team lost. You have no idea what Baugus has done for the three years he has started at QB at Peabody or what he has overcome to be named Mr. Football, Back to Back State Champ or MVP of last year's state championship game. He was playing with a banged up shoulder in the two games your basing his entire high school career on. He threw one interception the entire regular season before getting hurt. Do some research before you get on here saying a player wasn't deserving of the award. You need to get out of your Mom's basement & get a life instead of hiding behind a message board bashing teams & their players. Anyone from the West TN area will tell you that Baugus more than deserved Mr. Football. He's an outstanding player & a high character person that does a lot for his community, You could learn a lot from the kid actually.

mor eimporantly, and i took to another tread just now. how on earth did baugus, like the 9th best olayer on his own team, win mr football

You're judging a player that earned Mr. Football over his three year start because of two games that you just so happened to watch because your team lost. What you don't know is the injuries he has overcome & was playing with when you watched those two games. He's the leader of that team & only threw 1 interception ALL season up until the playoffs when he injured his shoulder. He typically doesn't play defense but did for a few of the playoff games & gave Peabody a chance against Fairley with a huge interception with a banged up shoulder. Ask anyone from the Peabody faithful how tough he is & if he was deserving of Mr. Football. You don't need to speak on teams or kids you know nothing about.

  4. Can we all agree to ignore the Quack General Forrest’s posts? It’s obvious he’s just looking for some attention and responding to him is just fueling him. I’d like to be able to read about the two teams playing with actual football conversation. Peabody & Meigs have both earned their spot in the Championship and deserve all the attention to be on them.

Didn't I read somewhere on here a week or so ago that you planned on signing off the T for good once Forrest lost? I think it's time man. LOL

That's another reason they may not be posting. Their visitor sideline isn't great... yes I've stood in mud to watch a game there. There's no doubt that they know what type facilities the Tide have, and they (like us at Scotts Hill) don't receive funding to match that... that's why the community has been hard at work since knowing that they'll host this game. There's been gravel brought in and other improvements in order to make the visitors more comfortable. They have a nice stadium with plenty of home seating, but that probably won't be an option for y'all… I expect it to be full. Seating is being added behind the end zone and an extra gate for convenience. Maybe when they get the stadium spruced up, they'll have time to post.

That's great to hear. I know this game is huge for their community,

No doubt about that. I figured they would know what was coming to town on Friday night. Peabody understands who they're playing as well. Make no mistake about it, the Tide respects the heck outta the Panthers. But I like to say, respect all, fear none. Will the Trenton folk really need boots standing around the field like @vandyfan1 proclaimed?

Unless they've done major renovations to the stadium in the last few years then yes, you will need boots to even walk to the visitor side & you might want to bring lawn chairs. Best I can remember, the visitor side has 4-5 rows of bleachers. It might hold Peabody's band. Hopefully they plan to bring in more seating. Don't use the address for the high school for directions to the stadium either. The stadium is at Decatur County Middle School with limited parking.

I'm out of Chattanooga.  Honestly, am a little less than informed about the Northwest corner of the State and around Jackson.  No disrespect.  Just based off what I know of the West.  It was honestly the toughest choice of the bracket between Lake County and Memphis Middle College.

Do your research on the West before making predictions. Lake County should be in the mix in 1A. Peabody is by far the favorite in 2A.

You also have to look at the talent level on the other side of the ball. When these players are putting up these big stats.

When the talent level on the other side of the ball isn't good, these players putting up the big stats are putting up the big numbers in the first half & usually on the sideline after half time or early in the 3rd. They're not staying in the entire game padding their stats. Imagine if they played an entire game.

Yes, he would. Dresden ran up the score on LC during Winns senior year 66 to 0 I believe. LC will return the favor this year if the opportunity presents itself. If it does there should be no crying from the Dresden faithful. You reap what you sow. I think Scott's Hill gets the win this week.

No photo description available.Take a look at all the lopsided scores that year for Dresden. The starters were all on the sideline right after halftime in most of those games & the 2nd string & 3rd string kept scoring. 2016 was a special year for Dresden with a special group of players.

You must not know the Darby sisters, no one has invested more time in their kids than the Darby’s. Karly will have competition for Miss Basketball someday from freshman Edie Darby. Tess is one of the best three players in class A this year.

Chloe has the upper hand on Miss Basketball after the state tournament  last year.  Chloe is a complete player and very unselfish and can play major college ball.

Hopefully we will get to see a matchup with Loretto against Greenfield someday. I wish we could do a home and home with Loretto.

Know the Darby & McNeil families very well & I'll have to say from reading all your posts for awhile now, you are a little biased when it comes to your Greenfield players. Chloe has had the same amount of time invested in her training as Tess & Edie. Chloe has had a tough year losing one of her main supporters & it has only fueled her to step up her game. The last thing Greenfield needs is these players feeling like they're competing against each other or resentment over one being nominated over another. All three are outstanding players & AAU ball & their parents are HUGE factors for their success thus far.

Arlington?  Never heard of this school is it new?   Will that help Greenfield come tournament knowing that Arlington is better than Stone Memorial?  Is the same Dresden team you mentioned in your prior post, being one of the top teams in Class A,  the same one that just got beat by Clarkrange by 37 points a couple of weeks ago?

Why would you bring up beating Dresden by 37 points but fail to mention that Clarkrange beat a Dresden team of 6 players that had just played an hour before playing a fresh Clarkrange team. One of their main players got injured in the first game & wasn't able to play & another one got hurt the week before & out for the season with a torn ACL, another with mono & another girl tore her ACL the morning of the game. Saw a comment about Clarkrange keeping their starters in thats what I noticed in our game. The Monday twins played nearly the entire game. Dresden is short staffed right now but those 7 are playing good ball right now. I'll admit that Clarkrange would have probably beat a healthy Dresden team but it wouldn't have been by 30+ points.

You didn't hear about #8 because the injury happened in the first half of the game. When it comes to #5 he is the key to a lot of formations that TC runs he couldn't throw the ball or run the ball because of his injury. #8 was hurt while making a tackle on defense Did you not notice he didn't play on defense in the second half or that in 4th he was playing WR and not QB on the last drive. He ran out of bounce whenever he did run to avoid contact for the most part. The kid's shoulder was separated on his throwing arm what else do you want from these two kids they played to best of their abilities with their injuries. I'm sure any QB at any level would have problems throwing the ball with a separated shoulder or dislocated elbow

I think the Trousdale posts were leading everyone to believe that both your key players were injured coming into this game. I know when #8 got hurt. It's when he got trucked by Baugus & he ran it in for a TD. Those Peabody fans tried to tell you Trousdale would get "Baugused". Not taking anything away from those players at all. They played hard. I still think Peabody would have won by 2 TD's had they not hurt themselves with dumb penalties. Not characteristic of them at all. We had a great run at Dresden in 2016 but I don't for see it happening again any time soon. Congrats to all the teams that made it to the State Championship.

Gibson County is one of the better defensive squads I have seen this year. I think the turnovers will improve as they continue to play together. Peabody has surprised me so far as they beat McKenzie by 3 and only lost to Greenfield by 4. Dresden has disappointed me so far the way they have played this year, but maybe they can turn it around. So at this point in the year Gibson County is the team to beat in the west.

Dresden has disappointed you so far??? The Lions are injury/sickness ridden & are dressing out 7 players at this point & one of those is in a boot outside of basketball so you might as well say 6.5 players. I thought they played great against GC considering that GC has played way more games & Dresden only had 7 players. Those 7 gave GC all they wanted & only lost by 10.

  15. Congrats to Peabody on the win! Sure didn't see Trousdale County mentioning any injuries prior to the game but now that seems to be their reason for the loss, I heard Peabody had a few injuries as well, one to their starting center which is most likely the reason for the high snaps & miscues. Peabody also had a key player that plays both sides of the ball get injured in the first half & was only able to play on defense. Seems to me that TC QB #8 was doing ok until he got trucked by Peabody's QB as Baugus ran it in for a TD. He wasn't the same after that. IMO that was the game changer. I'm a Dresden fan so it's easy to say this team would beat that team or would beat them healthy but only two teams make it to the big game & that was Trousdale County & Peabody so give these two teams, their players & coaches the credit they deserve. Way to represent the West Peabody! I can see a repeat next year with all that talent in the junior class.

    So he's Mr. Football caliber?

In the West, we don’t judge a player by “Mr. Football.” He’s “leading his team to a gold ball” caliber. Dresden had our own Mr. Football in 2015, Dresser Winn. He won it his junior year but didn’t make it to the Ship then didn’t win his senior year but did win the gold ball in 2016.

Impressive playoff wins? Barely beating a bad Forrest team, beating an injured CA team and beating down a team that was already demoralized from losing to y’all esrlier in the season is very impressive?

That Wayne County team was still much better than this Waverly team

If that's the case then Peabody wins really big!
