  1. Class A- without a doubt Chloe Moore McNeil and Tess Darby
  2. High school basketball isn't typically where the top players get the looks of major college coaches. Chloe has been playing against some of the top talent from all over the country on the Exposure ball circuit for years. Coaches/ Recruiters from every team attend these tournaments because it's a one stop shop where they can evaluate all the best players in one location & they have all had their eyes on Chloe. The interest is there and my guess is she's being patient and taking every offer or school of interest into account to make the best decision for herself and her family. Everyone can see the amazing player she is on the court but to know her off the court, you see what type of high caliber, high moral, family minded young woman she is. She is going to have a bright future wherever she chooses & the team will be better by having her on it. It's been a blessing to watch her play all these years.
  3. Not sure why you have some fascination with Baugus but as I stated on the other post, your bashing a player based on the two games you happened to listen to or watch because your team lost. You have no idea what Baugus has done for the three years he has started at QB at Peabody or what he has overcome to be named Mr. Football, Back to Back State Champ or MVP of last year's state championship game. He was playing with a banged up shoulder in the two games your basing his entire high school career on. He threw one interception the entire regular season before getting hurt. Do some research before you get on here saying a player wasn't deserving of the award. You need to get out of your Mom's basement & get a life instead of hiding behind a message board bashing teams & their players. Anyone from the West TN area will tell you that Baugus more than deserved Mr. Football. He's an outstanding player & a high character person that does a lot for his community, You could learn a lot from the kid actually.
  4. You're judging a player that earned Mr. Football over his three year start because of two games that you just so happened to watch because your team lost. What you don't know is the injuries he has overcome & was playing with when you watched those two games. He's the leader of that team & only threw 1 interception ALL season up until the playoffs when he injured his shoulder. He typically doesn't play defense but did for a few of the playoff games & gave Peabody a chance against Fairley with a huge interception with a banged up shoulder. Ask anyone from the Peabody faithful how tough he is & if he was deserving of Mr. Football. You don't need to speak on teams or kids you know nothing about.
  5. Congrats to Lake County!! Way to represent the West!
  6. Can we all agree to ignore the Quack General Forrest’s posts? It’s obvious he’s just looking for some attention and responding to him is just fueling him. I’d like to be able to read about the two teams playing with actual football conversation. Peabody & Meigs have both earned their spot in the Championship and deserve all the attention to be on them.
  7. Why would he care? It doesn't affect the Tide at all. Westview is 3A.
  8. Didn't I read somewhere on here a week or so ago that you planned on signing off the T for good once Forrest lost? I think it's time man. LOL
  9. That's great to hear. I know this game is huge for their community,
  10. Unless they've done major renovations to the stadium in the last few years then yes, you will need boots to even walk to the visitor side & you might want to bring lawn chairs. Best I can remember, the visitor side has 4-5 rows of bleachers. It might hold Peabody's band. Hopefully they plan to bring in more seating. Don't use the address for the high school for directions to the stadium either. The stadium is at Decatur County Middle School with limited parking.
  11. Do your research on the West before making predictions. Lake County should be in the mix in 1A. Peabody is by far the favorite in 2A.
  12. When the talent level on the other side of the ball isn't good, these players putting up the big stats are putting up the big numbers in the first half & usually on the sideline after half time or early in the 3rd. They're not staying in the entire game padding their stats. Imagine if they played an entire game.
  13. Plenty of parking right behind the gymnasium/school.
  14. Take a look at all the lopsided scores that year for Dresden. The starters were all on the sideline right after halftime in most of those games & the 2nd string & 3rd string kept scoring. 2016 was a special year for Dresden with a special group of players.
  15. Tide would win. Better coaching & more athletes.
  16. I know the districts & regions are a little different now but up until last year a lot of teams also played district & region at the same venue at Bethel. I know Dresden did.
  17. Know the Darby & McNeil families very well & I'll have to say from reading all your posts for awhile now, you are a little biased when it comes to your Greenfield players. Chloe has had the same amount of time invested in her training as Tess & Edie. Chloe has had a tough year losing one of her main supporters & it has only fueled her to step up her game. The last thing Greenfield needs is these players feeling like they're competing against each other or resentment over one being nominated over another. All three are outstanding players & AAU ball & their parents are HUGE factors for their success thus far.
  18. Why would you bring up beating Dresden by 37 points but fail to mention that Clarkrange beat a Dresden team of 6 players that had just played an hour before playing a fresh Clarkrange team. One of their main players got injured in the first game & wasn't able to play & another one got hurt the week before & out for the season with a torn ACL, another with mono & another girl tore her ACL the morning of the game. Saw a comment about Clarkrange keeping their starters in thats what I noticed in our game. The Monday twins played nearly the entire game. Dresden is short staffed right now but those 7 are playing good ball right now. I'll admit that Clarkrange would have probably beat a healthy Dresden team but it wouldn't have been by 30+ points.
  19. I think the Trousdale posts were leading everyone to believe that both your key players were injured coming into this game. I know when #8 got hurt. It's when he got trucked by Baugus & he ran it in for a TD. Those Peabody fans tried to tell you Trousdale would get "Baugused". Not taking anything away from those players at all. They played hard. I still think Peabody would have won by 2 TD's had they not hurt themselves with dumb penalties. Not characteristic of them at all. We had a great run at Dresden in 2016 but I don't for see it happening again any time soon. Congrats to all the teams that made it to the State Championship.
  20. Dresden has disappointed you so far??? The Lions are injury/sickness ridden & are dressing out 7 players at this point & one of those is in a boot outside of basketball so you might as well say 6.5 players. I thought they played great against GC considering that GC has played way more games & Dresden only had 7 players. Those 7 gave GC all they wanted & only lost by 10.
  21. Congrats to Peabody on the win! Sure didn't see Trousdale County mentioning any injuries prior to the game but now that seems to be their reason for the loss, I heard Peabody had a few injuries as well, one to their starting center which is most likely the reason for the high snaps & miscues. Peabody also had a key player that plays both sides of the ball get injured in the first half & was only able to play on defense. Seems to me that TC QB #8 was doing ok until he got trucked by Peabody's QB as Baugus ran it in for a TD. He wasn't the same after that. IMO that was the game changer. I'm a Dresden fan so it's easy to say this team would beat that team or would beat them healthy but only two teams make it to the big game & that was Trousdale County & Peabody so give these two teams, their players & coaches the credit they deserve. Way to represent the West Peabody! I can see a repeat next year with all that talent in the junior class.
  22. In the West, we don’t judge a player by “Mr. Football.” He’s “leading his team to a gold ball” caliber. Dresden had our own Mr. Football in 2015, Dresser Winn. He won it his junior year but didn’t make it to the Ship then didn’t win his senior year but did win the gold ball in 2016.
  23. So you haven’t seen much film on Peabody’s QB? Watched him a few times this season & he makes plays happen.
  24. If that's the case then Peabody wins really big!
