  1. Can you provide any info on the three teams in 16U other than Flight, we know who they are.
  2. T2S2A, have you heard anything on this? I would be interested to know if Libby is OK.
  3. I have no problem with players who legitimately move to a new school being able to play. My problem is with the players that are moving JUST to play basketball or any other sport for that school or coach. I feel like I am talking to a two year old. "It's not rocket science"to realize you play the best players you have. I realize Clarksville schools have more student turnover due to being close to Fort Campbell. That is a given. But if players are allowed to move from school to school at their whim then it hurts every school in the system. Maybe the reason Rossview and CHS have new players is because they had to leave another school to have the opportunity to play. I don't have a problem with this issue because of who is beating whom, I have a problem with it because it is unethical and in some cases a violation of TSSAA rules. Tarheel23, for the record Michael Jordan was told no thanks I don't want you to play for us. He is a perfect example of what can happen to a player when given the chance.
  4. I think the point everyone seems to be missing is this: You don't always get to play for the coach of your choice! No one said Rick Martin isn't a good coach or that they didn't have a good program. There are a lot of excellant teams and fantastic coaches in this state, but you don't get to choose who you play for. If every "talented" basketball player in this state "moved" so that they could play for the "best" coach or team, girls basketball would be irreversably damaged. Don't forget the "average" player who may get bumped from a position by someone "moving". How many average players have grown into great players because of the opportunity to play and improve. At what point are we as fans, parents and coaches going to say ENOUGH! We seem to forget that there is more to the sport than winning a state title. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a state title banner hanging in our gym, but a what cost? In my opinion a truly great coach is one who year after year takes what they are given and creates a winning team. That is who I would want my child playing for.
  5. Last I knew of Evans mom was principal at Kenwood Middle. Isn't it amusing how a coach's attitude can change about transfers when they think they see a chance at the big dance.

Any team can be beat on any given night. My prediction is that Tuesday January 18th may be the day they get beat. It is a lot harder to stay at the top than it is to work your way up.
  7. 10W40, I agree it's time Creekwood stops using the "young" team excuse and look for the real reason the team is going downhill. Having players who spend all their time worrying about being yanked out of the game could be at the root of their problems. Maybe it's time the coach try a little positive reinforcement, and let these girls who know how to play ball play ball.
