It seems that everyone that way is excited about it. I am happy for you if that is what you want. I'm just not a fan. Be on the lookout for more ACL tears, and lower leg injuries.

A 2019 study by Cleveland-based University Hospitals featured data from 26 high school trainers during the 2017-2018 athletic season who reported 953 injuries: 368 were on natural grass, while 585 were on synthetic turf.

Well we need to study the study. How many games were on artificial turf vs natural grass. What were weather conditions during the games? You can make stats say whatever you want them to.

  2. It is 40 extra minutes one way for those in West Tennessee. Is it really that big of deal? I swear rural West Tennessee fans are the biggest snowflakes in the entire state. Constantly complaining. I don’t care where my team is playing in the championship as long as they are in the game who cares. This will be a better experience for everyone involved.

Chattanooga is a terrible idea. Logistically it’s a travel nightmare for West TN teams. And god forbid there be any inclement weather on championship weekend, which has already happened to us (twice!)

Cookeville has been a decent compromise for a long time now but it really needs to be somewhere in Middle TN. Nissan Stadium would be the best option, but idk if they’re even in the discussion.

Man a whole 40 extra minutes from Paris to Chattanooga. For a better overall experience that is a no brainer.

  4. Nolensville wins the district.

Here are the match ups for Regions

    1. Nolensville vs. 4. Stewart Co

    3. Community vs. 2. East Hickman

    2. Forrest vs. 3. Fairview

    4. Giles Co. vs 1. Creek Wood

Look for District 12aa to win 3 out of 4 with Creek Wood being the only team from 11aa to win.

Clevenger wrestled his heart out at 285. Respect!!
But...at 220...The Deuce was loose! Pin for the win. 1,2,3,4,5!  He better call State Farm for a jewelry rider!!!

Wolfe is a heck of a young man. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Atwood from Trousdale almost pulled the upset of the day. I was shocked Morton struggled against him but that scared seemed to motivate him to finish strong.

and you are right about Clevenger I don’t think I have seen anyone weigh less than 210 almost win the Heavyweight Divison.

The NFHS feed is already driving me crazy. Keeps going out and I have to refresh and watch another commercial before getting back to that match.

    Yes this is terrible.

barely able to watch any match and then when you switch matches it’s a dang sleep number commercial.

Just curious; Why is Neyland not an option? Too large?

    A couple of reasons.

    1. Turf- natural grass surface is asking for trouble with 9 games in 3 days.

    2. Venue Size- way too large to create a fun atmosphere for a state championship game

    3. Parking is not the easiest around the stadium when schools in session.

  8. Let’s get with the times. Many states rotate their championship game sites and this would be a welcome change by most fans across the state.

Rotate between the 3 Cs- Cookeville, Clarksville, and Chattanooga. These three cities have shown interest in hosting.

Neyland and Nissan Stadium are not viable options. Once MLS stadium is built there may be some interest and West Tennessee really doesn’t have a facility besides UT-Martin.

Just to set the record straight:

I just watched the video back, they were three feet from the cylinder, PF kid had Jeffrey’s left hand in cross wrist, lifted him up, swept his feet left to right and returned him on his head and shoulder to the trapped arm side.

Was very proud of our Fairview parents and wrestlers. No chants, in fact you could hear a pin drop. Small golf clap when injury default was announced and even though we had just won our first ever school team championship, we still sent our next wrestler out. We never even celebrated our victory until our name was announced as state champs.

Heres the link to the match for reference.

This account matches what a buddy of mine who is a Nolensville assistant coach told me happened. He said it was an evenly matched dual.

Sounds like some sour grapes from PF. Must be why they didn’t stay around to accept the trophy afterwards.

Yes he did pin him. I was merely suggesting that in my original post I used the word slam/slammed but I am not suggesting he did anything illegal.  The PF heavy is a very large young man and when they hit the mat young Clevenger was on the bottom of the pile. I mentioned that would not be a fun place to be. My heavyweight is every bit of 285 lbs and I make sure I’m not under him. EVER.

I should have clarified it wasn’t your comment but Sampson’s because it made it seem like Clevenger took a dive in his match and that is how he won. I thought I read where he pinned the PF kid.

To clarify. I am not suggesting the PF kid did anything illegal. Wrestling is rough and sometimes the returns are a reflection of that.

Clevenger gives up a lot of weight and if you have ever been under your heavyweight you know it’s not a fun place to be.

Didn’t Clevenger pin the HW from PF? I am confused.

My son played against his brother who was a stud in football and it seems genetics was good to the young man as well.

I know what the kids, parents, administrators and community of Milan went thru this last season. I can assure it is no joke to the people involved.

Well some schools don’t get their panties in a wad like others. If nothing was done wrong then why worry at all. Let people talk.

We see top recruits move schools all the time in the mid-state. It is a running joke about recruiting for some schools . Not many times does a top QB especially from Texas picks a Tennessee school to attend.

So he was recruited?  What did they do to recruit him??  What exactly did they offer and are you going to the TSSAA with your proof???

It’s a joke. Calm down. You must be real fun at parties.

This is big news for TN HS football however Ravenwood seems to be a destination  or possible destinations for a lot of out of state recruits. It is an interesting situation.
