So I guess this means Friday's Lawrence Co./Spring Hill winner finishes 4th in Region 4 and automatically advances to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Word on street is this game may not happen.

People act like we can control our playoff schedule. It’s the toughest in the state in the early going. First it was Whitehaven, then Riverdale and Oakland. Im not sure your capable of comprehending that chump.
The only chump is you who went into hiding after rubbing that yap. Once again our program at least knows what the semi-finals taste like.

When the offensive player holds a defensive player in the endzone, it is a safety. Who, if anyone, gets credit for the 2 points. Asking as a stat guy. Thanks yall
I believe no one gets individual credit for the safety and it is just a team safety.
Credit a player with a safety when:
A. He downs an opponent behind the opponent’s goal line;
B. He causes an opponent to step out of bounds behind the opponent’s goal line;
C. He blocks a kick or deflects a backward pass and the ball goes out of the end zone behind
the opponent’s goal line.
Example I: Fourth-and-10 at own 4-yard line. Defensive tackle blocks a punt. The ball is recovered in the end zone by the punter, and the cornerback downs the punter there. Scoring: Credit the cornerback with a safety.

Example II: Fourth-and-10 at own 4-yard line. The offensive team decides to allow a safety rather than to kick on fourth down. The punter receives the snap and lingers near the end line, consuming time until the defensive tackle chases him out of bounds. Scoring: Credit the defensive tackle with a safety.Unless a safety falls into one of the categories listed above, no credit shall be given to any individual.

Kreager just posted an article where it is confirmed that DeKalb Co. will miss the playoffs due to COVID.
The way the article read is that they will not be replaced in the playoffs thus the 4 seed from Region 4 will move on to play the winner of the 2/3 match up.
-
It is official DeKalb County’s season is over.

I’m still cracking up over the Spring Hill atrocity. Pure comedy.
I am still laughing at a 10-0 team losing in the 1st round of the playoffs.

If this has come up before, I apologize! Has the TSSAA made any mention of how they will handle ticket sales for the championship games? Will they allow one ticket for the whole day or make us get a ticket for each game? I try to go each year to watch all 6 classifications.
I believe they are clearing the stadium after every game.

Good luck to Fairview. Sure miss our early season scrimmages. Your program made ours better and vice versa.

I have heard the same thing!!!! How does the T$$AA even allow that???
Pretty sure their school district has limited their capacity for games and being their home game they can decide how those tickets are dispersed. I do believe they live stream all their games.

School choice and the public/private split have destroyed football in Metro. Now you have not only every private in town openly recruiting your kids you have the four schools that everyone knows is all that can field an even decent team recruiting them also. Truth hurts but that is why.
Pretty soon the only football in Metro will be 4 or 5 mega co-ops.
Heck when one of your coaches sends their son to a private school, it has to be hard to sell different programs in the county to these athletes. Basically coaches saying these schools are not good enough for my own kids.

Coach Osteen and company will be ready to play. These boys are motivated to get a home playoff game.

Guys in Region 7, how good is the Simpson kid?
Being a Vols fan I have seen some say he is the most important in state prosxpects in wars to land however I have doubts due to the fact they don’t win more than they do. Is his supporting cast that bad? If you are a top QB in the nation I figured it would show in Ws and Ls. Would love to hear what you guys think as you have watched him the last 3 years.

My initial projection had 332 schools but some of the schools I had listed was wrong. Then it was 329 and I adjusted accordingly, now it's back to 332. This is what 2A could look like as of right now before some schools decide to play up into 3A.

Knoxville districts in AAA have 8 teams each. Single A has 9. Where are the 4 team districts?
With the new 4 classifications you are going to have smaller districts. Right now we don't have them but with this new cycle we will.
Pioneer has been whining since last March. The reality is if the TSSAA does what is equitable they will give Memphis 3 districts.

West TN 12 will be with Middle Tenn. 11 if Memphis has 3 districts.
So what?? So you think 20% of AA teams should be in two districts??

I hope 1000 times we are playing in the Memphis Region. 80 miles away is better than 160. Don’t think you realize we are used to District 13 and 14 in West TN and District 15 and 16 in Memphis. District 11 and 12 crosses over into Middle TN. If Memphis has 14,15 and 16 means there is only 1 other district to play in West TN. The other district goes across the river for the region. Does that make sense to you now??
No because those are just numbers. They do not mean they have to go to certain sections of the state.
Memphis would get districts 14, 15, 16.
West TN 12 and 13
AA is West Heavy thus it needs more districts.

Start moving over 1 you move West TN into Middle TN and vice versa for Region, which will be terrible for fan travel and $$$$.Also mean you overload good teams and have a bunch of weak teams in a Region, therefore affecting State Tournament competition. Memphis has never had three districts and don’t need them now. If anything, they could put two or three in our district and we go play them. They don’t need three districts. Will be a logistics nightmare.
You are making zero sense. Guess what regions back in the day use to cross from middle to west, it will happens in football.
The reality is you don’t want the Memphis basketball competition because you know if they get an extra district they will be a tough out.
You have presented zero arguments that are valid on why 20% of AA teams should be in 2 districts when their will be districts with 4 teams.

Kids aren’t vulnerable! Not by a long shot. Massive overreaction with this contact tracing fiasco.
Then why doesn’t the President fire the CDC director and put someone in charge to clean up the “fiasco”?
There is science around contact tracing, you may not like it but the science is there.

Memphis has always had District 15 and District 16. No way you can give them three districts without combining Middle TN and West TN for Region.
The TSSAA has never had 4 classes and it is apparent looking at the schools Memphis needs three districts and push everyone district over one. There is plenty of room to fit all the districts in. Some metro schools will need to be bumped to district 8.

Well said! Lack of great leadership and pure common sense is lacking severely in this state and all around this country!!
You mean the CDC guidance and the Head of the CDC who was appointed by Trump in 2018. Man if you want it to go away you would think the President could put someone in power who could do so or maybe just maybe they are doing the right thing to help protect people who may be vulnerable,

I hope not. Put West TN and Middle TN teams playing region possibly 3-3.5 hours away every year. District 11 and District 12.
No the TSSAA would put Regions in the closest schools to all the region for each district. It happens in other parts of the state. It doesn't make any sense for some districts to have 4 teams while forcing Memphis schools to have 8 or 9 when they can split it into 3 districts. It would help make things more equitable across the board. You already have teams in East TN automatically making region while teams in Memphis won't have the same opportunity. Also if they only do 2 districts the Memphis Schools have more ammunition to use against the TSSAA.
-
I believe Memphis should have 3 districts with the amount of teams that they have in AA.

Go Hillsboro! I was there for those three games. Yes, sitting in the bleachers. That onside kick was a killer!
Me and my teammates still refuse to watch that game film. Coach Quarles and his staff did a tremendous job.

No, I wore a coach’s shirt, and I’m too old and slow to be on a chain gang. Lol. We will just have to agree to disagree. Best wishes to whoever your team is.
All I know is my son who is a senior has worked harder this season then myself and my teammates did back in the early 2000s when we made three straight state championship games winning one and losing two heartbreakers to the best program in the history of the state. I am well aware of what it takes to win a state championship and I won’t let you or anyone else diminish that for this year’s seniors.
