Congrats to Coach W and the Lady Longhorns for a HUGE win over Sevier County knew they would get one and look for them to get one or two more BIG wins before season ends.Hopefully that one gets them over the hump. Now this is the kind of stuff we should be talking about!! Looking forward to reading coachh's assessments on the teams in his 'rankings'. Don't really like rankings because it's hard to rank teams when you don't see every game Happy Valley had a good tourney beating AAA Portland, A Midway and dropping a heartbreaker to AA Stone Memorial. Hampton went 3-1 vs 4 AAA teams(Sullivan South, Cherokee, Seymour & DB/Kingsport) and Johnson County had 2 good wins(A Greenback & AAA Sevier Co.) and if there is such a thing 1 good loss against AAA Cherkee where they were in the game the whole time just came up short.Interesting to see if Hamptons wins over South,by 7, who beat Betsy and Cherokee who was at full strength, by 19, who Betsy needed OT to beat come into play. Or if JC big win over Sevier Co. can bump them up. UNicoi had 3 nice wins at Boone. Betsy drops 2 one to a 1 win team one to the refs(lol just kidding)and squeak out a 2 point victory. HV has a good tourney finishes 2nd will they move? Will he still have Betsy #1 bcuase of head2head or will he go with who's playing better at the moment? We are all on pins n needles coach. But no pressure coachh there just #'s makes for good reading only rankings that matter are end of season. You will never make everyone happy

I coached for years and NEVER used refs costing us a game or 'stopping our momentum EVERY time' as a reason for losing there was ALWAYS something I as a coach or my team could've done better like giving up second chance points, missing shots in the paint or foul shots. But like you said I wasn't there I just don't like hearing crying about refs take a look at your team and see what the team could've done better and move on.

2 more great games tonight as Boone tops Seymour in a close one and Hampton fell to DB by 7. Hats off to Coach Tolley and his ladies as they finish 2nd (going 3-1 vs 4 AAA big schools). They aren't the most talented or athletic but are well coached and if there's a team that plays with more pride and heart i'd love to see them. Boone is getting better and gaining more confidence with every game! Lots of great teams and games this week!!

51-44 DB won.Hampton had a 23-22 lead at half. Got down I think 11 at one point. Got beat on some leak out or snowbirding which they covered in the first half. Missed about 10 easy ones inside and 3 foul shots. Didn't hear any fans blaming the refs after the game. HV lost in their champ game as well. Blew a 10 point lead going into the 4th. Coach didn't blame refs either from what i heard. Good showing for both teams! Dorothy Dugger & Alexis Bowers made all tourney for Lady Dogs along with Unicoi's Emily Edwards . Unaka lost to Sullivan South and Johnson County got a HUGE win over Sevier County. Kept saying they'd pull an upset and they got one! probably get another one or two before its all said and done. They may have gotten over that hump! congrats Coach Whittemore and Lady 'Horns!!!

Just saying don't Cry about refs u had 2 6 point leads(according to Dugger) in 4th n lose. That's not the refs! That's a B.S. copout blaming the 'refs if you have the better team win the game! So tired of hearing fans say that c'mon man! If you should've won by 'a sizeable margin' then do it!

Unaka lost to Sullivan South this morning. Colbaugh went out in 2nd quarter with looked like a hyper extension of left elbow. Came back and played second half favoring it slightly.

Will the refs get credit for the 2 point Betsy win today. Heard they called a foul with no time left and Depew hit 2 free throws. If u blame them for a loss credit them for a win. It only makes sense right?

i second that WOW since Fayette County was 1-4. They get 6-4 Spartanburg for the 7th/8th place game Spartanburg lost to Dorman by 5 earlier in the season. they are 4A like Dorman not 5A as Dugger stated in paper and Dorman ranks 10th not 2nd according to max prep SC rankings. Hopefully they'll salvage the trip with a win with conf play picking up next Fri with East.

all i can say is WOW what 2 great exciting Semi Final games if the consolation and Champ games are anywhere as exciting you better get there to watch!! Boone/Seymour should be good and then David vs. Goliath with Hampton/DB.

Sometimes its about pride and heart sounds like betsy played with neither. Some good games at Boone today Unaka didn't looked like they wanted to be there early as they trailed Crockett but came out inspired in the 2nd hlf to win big. Unicoi/Gate city was a dandy but the last 2 Seymour/Hampton DB/Boone WOW those were 2 games u had to be there to watch in person! Hampton was down 12 at one point in the 3rd came back to win by 1 and Boone gave DB all they wanted and then some had some chances late but came up short. Hope I can get there tomorow Should be 2 more good ones between those 4. Heard HV won and is in the finals of their tourney against Stone Memorial. Good Luck to all the Tri County teams tomoro!
