Unaka wins over NG and Cloudland gets Rhodes back and a W.

JC was up bout 6 going into 4th and unaka came back to win by 5 i think it was. I think I said before JC plays good for 2 or 3 qtrs then other teams talent usually gets them. I see same for lady Dogs Fri close til late but who knows this could be one of their upsets I expect them to get. we'll see. Hampton will need alot better defensive effort than they showed tues night from what i heard.Unaka has NG tomoro at home.NG may be without Morrow so we'll see if Unaka can play some D and pull the upset.JC has their second game in 3 nights as they play Cloudland then Friday(Hampton) will be there third in four nights so an upset may be asking alot of them. Maybe they'll get the Landers instead. If they're w/o Rhodes and Wilson just might be possible.Heard Austin East has called off their game with Hampton saturday.

Guess some of the issues will be settled next year.

Soullivan South loses to East by 3 tonite 3 games in 4 nights will catch up to you. Hampton pulled one out tonite against what i would say a weak C-Doak team. Honsetly not sure how they win games.

That's what forums are for I like to debate these type of things with others to get opinions. Not everyone sees eye to eye thats what makes for good back and forth banter between fans of their teams and bball in general.

By far they are the most talented team top to bottom, next to The Hill, I've stated that before and yes around here and in their District by far I'm just not sold on them as a state title contender. Depew is a very fine pt guard one of the best around I've stated that before, as far as quality depth the twins yes but i wouldn't throw Robinson, McCrary or Kiser in there. Yes they play but not against the top tier teams. Pietrowski is good for a minute or two but you can't tell me if Madgett or Roberts, heaven forbid go down i love those two, that Bowers and Pietrowski would be able to step in and carry them to a State title? Or Bradley she's is a fine ballhandler don't think she could play the minutes Depew usually does and be effective and not the caliber scorer Depew is at all and not gonna lead them to a state title. Correct me if I'm wrong haven't seen all their games but have seen boxscores but I didn't see McCrary,kiser,Robinson, or Pietrowski in the South or Hampton games one a loss the other a close one. Usually if they're quality they'll see minutes in good games not just the blowouts. Just stating my opinion by what I've seen and who they have beat. They've had the most talented teams around here and in their district and seem to always get beaten once they leave their area. I've ranked them #1 because i think right now in the tri-county they are #1 just not penciling them in for the 'boro just yet or any other team from the tri-county. And not evryone puts as much emphasis towards JV except for maybe HV who has starters who sometimes start varsity and also play significant varsity minutes.

update i got was 2 points at the half and up 10 starting the 4th but either way they won still not sold on them

Unicoi loses to South tonight they led most of the game. Eliz pulled away late from S Greene. Not sold on Eliz. just yet with 6 of their 10 wins versus sub .500 teams and the 7th win over .500 Unicoi. Saw where Grainger laid it on Seymour by 20+ suprised by the margin there.

Unicoi has a tough one tonight with South. Betsy should do fine against S Greene w/o Ricker. HV lost Hodge but Freshman post is filling in pretty good but they'll miss her physical presence. Interested to see what the Lady Rangers can do with N Greene Thursday after JC which could be a very interesting game.. Hampton if they play to there potential for 4 qtrs should handle C D tomoro. Rhodes will be back after she gets her knee brace i hear but talk is Wilson may not be back for a while but thats talk. Landers should handle JC may not be pretty tho Cherokee could be a different story if Cherokees healthy now.

HV beat a Rhodes-Wlisonless Cloudland by 31 tonite and Hampton beat 3Rivers sullivan East by 17 and Uncoi over C-Doak by 10

Couldn't agree more with your lack of defense analysis on HV and if the Hodge girl doesn't get her act together they'll struggle with EHS post game. I picked them to challenge for the 2 or 3 spot in their conf and maybe earn a split with Betsy, they were so close last year, but with no priority on D and no Hodge I may have to retract my predictions. Is it just me or does it look like they put too much emphasis on offense they have scorers that's NOT the problem they need stoppers!! Don't forget Unicoi @ Eliz. we'll see if the Devils have improved since the opening of the season. Also HV vs. Cloudland in the Climate Controllers Saturday.

I'd say Seymour or Dobyns bennett would be the 2 favorites as of now. I believe Smith County has Unaka first and if I'm not mistaken Hampton beat Smith Co. , early in the season, by 20 or 22. Hampton drew South first game. This usually is a good tourney with some great games and a couple suprises. Hope to see them all!

Beat a pretty good Gatlinburg Pittman by 31 and a really good single A Cosby by 5 Greenville by 20+ but they're down this year. I still like Seymour in this one but a good one to the wire!

Agree with you KING Hampton could be special but they need consistent play from their posts for that to happen i believe they got 26 from them last night but only 6 in the Elizabethton game. Cosby looks to be rolling and definitely anyone wanting to make the State run will have to beat them.N Greene with Mcnese back is clicking as well NG/Hampton should be 2 games to watch! If you're small and and evryone in this league is you gotta be quick and have guards that can score and a pt guard who can run the show. Colbaugh at Unaka and Bowers at Hampton,the best 2 in the conf in my opinion, do just that. Clarke was it for Cloudland last year and you can see how bad it has hurt them without her. If i were ranking the conf it'd be 1. NG 2.Hampton 3.Unaka 4.Cloudland 5.University Unaka/Cloudland will be a good match up to see as well. Experienced guards versus inexperienced guards. Cloudland has some games to grow up before then tho. We shall see. Makes for an interesting year!

Hampton over Happy Valley tonite by 13 (66-53) Warriors were up 1 heading into the 4th and was tied at 46 when Bowers hit a 3 and Hampton went on a 20-7 run to end the game. Happy Valley has Tri Cities Fri. and Cloudland Sat. at Hampton and Hampton has Sullivan East at home both Climate Controller's games.

Unicoi beat Cloudland tonight by 10. There were 66 fouls were called and 5 players foul out and Landers were without Rhodes. 52-42 i believe was the final.Didn't think MTown East would be much of a test for Betsy, I mean they've lost to Sevier Cocke Co. and Dobyns Bennett by 35, and they weren't. Not sure why coachh was thinking it would be a tought test they have 3 wins over teams with a combined 6-19 record. Tomoro has Unaka at UH and rematch of Hampton and Happy Valley at HV.

Not sure if M east will be that much of a test now heard they lost their best player for the year but are well coached and play quick.#1Elizabethton is inconsistent, I'll say it again they go as Depew goes, but you are right they have the most talent top to bottom. EHS played good against the Bulldogs but If #2 Hampton's post could've made anything close they win the Elizabethton game. Rematch should be good. Bowers and Dugger make the Dogs go and do need help from supporting cast if they're gonna make a run. Stiff test at HV Tues & Sull East Sat. at Home. #3Unicoi and #4HV are neck and neck. Unicoi, who has two big ones this week Cloudland @ home & EHS away, needs its young players to get the needed experience and by seasons end should be right there competeing. HV can shoot the lights out when they get hot may pull one or two shockers off before its over.. #5Cloudland without Rhodes is just a mediocre team at best Their young guards aren't progressing to well but it's still early. #6Unaka like hampton small, quick, good guards(Bradshaw is at Daniel Boone now) but lack of post hurts them.They live and die by the 3 ball. Believe Hampton is 6-3 and has one game Sullivan East Sat. in Climate Controllers. Unaka's Bradshaw has transferred to Daniel Boone did so last Monday. Unaka has TCC and Sullivan East in Climate Controllers. Cloudland is AT Unicoi it's PINk OUT GAME for the Lady Devils.

Unaka looked good for 1 qtr. but they live and die by the 3 ball and it costs them. defensively they always seem to have one or two girls losing their ma.n

King you're right got my games mixed up 'Landers are at home. They were struggling last night. Down 1 with under a minute and didn;t know who the go to would be. Tried to go 1-4 flat and isolate Wilson with the ball up top and she turned it over. Had to foul. Came down to a 2 point game with GC at the line girl missed ft and GC got offensive rebound and put back to win by 4.
