Cloudland lost by 4 to Gate City. Rhodes went down in 1st qtr never returned. unaka lost by 15 in Championship to Wise Central Sat. night

Also Sevier, Gate City and Johnson County. Double checked and Dobyns Bennett was for sure too.

Hampton, Sullivan East, unicoi, Smith Co, Cherokee, Daniel Boone, Unaka, David Crockett, Greenback, for sure. And I think Dobyns Bennett

Unicoi had a rough showing down at Grainger co. losing by double digits rather badly to Gatlinburg Pitman and Morristown West before beating Claiborne by 30. Edwards is the only bright spot. Young team, start 3 sophomores with little experience, new 'coach' may take them awhile to find their indentity. Hampton had a good tourney beating Morristown West by 8 and Volunteer by 13 only loss was to a good shooting high intensity G'burg Pitman team who lost to Grainger Co. by 30 in the finals. Dugger & Bowers are turning into quite the duo if they get some help from supporting casts they'll be a force. Johnson County showed they're continuing to improve by mounting a furious comeback being down 20 to only lose by 4 to Cherokee! Happy Valley lost a heartbreaker to South in a game they should've put South away but never did and it cost them. I dont think they recovered from that one because they lost to a weak Sullivan Central team and then took a beating by D. Boone.It doesn't get any easier as they'll travel to Hampton on Tues, but I think Coach Abel will have the girls ready by conference time and still believe they'll compete for the #2 or 3 spot. Unaka's been off for quite awhile not sure why but surely won't help. Elizabethton looked as good as you can versus that same weak Central team and against a young Tennessee High team. The South game was a little different. Fell behind early then Depew going out with 2 fouls early, which she tends to do ALOT, and south went on their run. Said it before Betsy goes as she does the backup is decent but doesn't have the experience or scoring capability. Young girls, the twins and Shy Bowers' are gettin valuable early minutes which will only help come post season time. Both teams were saddled with foul trouble as it was an exciting game to watch.Betsy has Alcoa and hampton next week 2 more competitive games we'll see how they bounce back. Looks like it's going to be one of the better seasons to watch.

Hampton beat Mtown West tonight Bowers runs the point very well handles pressure and sinks 4 crucial free throws Dugger netted 18 in 2nd half got some decent post play and in a shocker pulled this one out. Hampton should be everyones radar now!

Unicoi lost to Volnteer by 1 after blowing a 20 point lead obviously the Falcons dont care about the devils "tradition" and lost last night by i believe 24 to gatlinburg Pittman. Granted they are young but by the end should be in the 3 rivers mix. Hampton has played 3 tough games vs.AA South Greene(W), AAA Cookeville(L) and a tough AA Smith County(W) squad by 20+ who only lost 2 games all summer. If they can get some decent post play they could go pretty deep in the post season as well. They face another tough AAA foe in Morristown West, who lost to a shorthanded Science Hill by 1, today at Grainger County Tourney. I think Happy Valley could push Elizabethton and Unicoi nice guard play and Hodge at the post is pretty good too. Unaka like hampton has the guards but post is questionable. Cloudland, with losses to Sullivan's South and East, well it remains to be seen. Any team that returns 5 starters should do well and Eliabethton is that team. If chemistry holds up, they tend to turn on each other when things don't go well, and Depew stays out of foul trouble, no back ups with her scoring ability, they'll be just fine and if they don't start reading the headlines about how good they are suppose to be. Needed OT to beat Cherokee and have a good TN High team Friday & Sullivan South Saturday at Happy Valley. Hope Johnson County continues their improvement may have a shocker or two again this year.

With betsy up 17 their post gets fouled at the buzzer. Game over right? I mean its just camp and the margin of victory isn't in doubt. No it not Coach len proceeds to chase down the refs wanting the 2 ft's. The ref say no game over. Not good enough as he proceeds to go back to his bench grab a ball and make his player shoot the free throws! The antics of the ehs staff is comical and somewhat embarrassing.No i wasnt at that camp but when coaches tell me and fans there say it well good enough. Guess you didn't have your glasses on for that or maybe you were in the tunnel. Sorry did i say glasses meant 'blinders'. just kidding sparky i commend your loyalty and for standing up for your old school and coach.

But hey he got seen and by the looks of it thats all he's there for. A for the Fulton game sparky you've seen enough camp games alot doesn't get called but you play through it if you and your staff are disciplined. I didn't see alot of discipline last year and looks no different this year. EHS was a laughing stock last year with all the moves by the administration and doesn't look like they're doing anything to erase that image. The coaches antics at the camp were an embarrassment and they say your team takes on the personality of your coaches. Would like to see ECS officials look into this but that'd be a joke. A blind eye is always turned when certain coaches are involved. Any way hope both teams AND fans learn something from this embarrassing event for both sides but i highly doubt it.

the middle school coach walked into a gold mine that team was built over the past 2.5 years by coach todd bowers and his sister who took those girls evrywhere playing AAU/USBA, I believe they are back to back USBA National Champions and some of the now Freshman plus his daughter who is at Hampton now also were USBA National Champions in their age group as well, all summer as well as the current freshman and sophomores there now.

I'm just saying use the body of work you can't always go by head to head upsets happen if HV would've held on to beat EHS would you have moved them ahead of the lady clones since it was the most recent head to head?

Wow! So coach what you're saying is a 13-13 unaka is better than Hampton who has 3 losses to your precious lady cyclones and 2 losses to unicoi, beat them once, both are AA a loss to #4 in the state single A Cloudland, down 1 at the half played them better than anyone expected even beat AA chucked-doak by 15 or so. Lady Dogs were without their head coach on a hostile floor and the dogs had just thumped them by 20+, don't get me wrong they should've won but one game coach?? Miami beat #5 duke today does that make Miami #4 team in the country? I remember when elizabethton lost 2 in a row to east and a losing record team south Greene and didn't drop? And don't see Hampton ending on a 5 game losing streak just my opinions.

he's going by eliz 'recent' win over Unicoi back in December but they are a different "team" now. Theyve split and Unicoi is playing alot better than EHS right now so throw that reasoning out. Unicoi will claim that spot after Tuesday with or without Demoss. And the 7 of 8 by 14pts he's right but a few losses were to teams that they should've beat easily. Hampton is playing pretty well right now as well, working in Bowers pretty nicely as she had 16 pt gm vs a good Chuckey Doak team that was a quality win vs a AA school. Theywere down just one point to Cloudland at the half Fri but could'nt buy a bucket in the second half and lost by 13 and not the 30 most were predicting. No discussion for Cloudland owning #1 spot as they are clearly tops right now but still have Unicoi and Hampton again. HV Unaka and JC all dangerous teams. But polls are for nothing but discussions. Should be a good one but Unicoi if not looking past to EHS should handle business. On the other hand i hear EHS is looking to Unicoi already better be careful Johnson County(Fri) improving and happy valley on Saturday, who just beat east who beat EHS. maybe someone should tell them its one game at a time. Hampton HUGE game Friday at Cloudland, winner takes control of conf, would like to see that one. May make the trip.

Let me confirm it for you. I know Coach Bowers and have coached against him in AAU. He was let go for actually "coaching" and winning. As far as I know who plays and doesn't is a coaching decision. This apparently upset a family of a certain player who went to the higher ups and complained. He was called the day of the Unicoi game thursday and wouldn't be needed as a coach at EHS any longer. His sister who was an assistant coach there resigned afterwards that night. As far as the 'key' player YES she is gone. Turned in uniform after the game friday where she had an outstanding performance. She will be missed. But after the way the Coaches and she was treated by her 'teammates' she felt she was no longer wanted and it was time to move on. I wish her and Coach Bowers' the best of luck. You don't win close to 275 games on the tournament circuit and 3 USBA National Championships and numerous other tournament titles and go unwanted somewhere for long. We would love to have them at our school as I'm sure others would say the same.

there are always adjustments to be made in any game and yes when u play weak teams u dont need to make many but when its the same old stuff over n over n over i mean come on! and did u not see the CAK game or the state play off game? anyway ehs will be fine im sure and since your name hints your from eliz im sure you've drank your fair share of the dugger kool aid.

Wasn't anything Dugger did to get her back. She's gettin some looks and wants to and loves the game obvious by her play. Not so sure her dads a Dugger fan anyway from what i hear. Looks good but EHS could easily take the top spot the rest is up for grabs. And as far as Dugger a diiference maker don't believe that one at all. Good fundamentals coach but makes absolutely NO game adjustments. That showed last night in HOF game vs THS and I saw it ALOT last year. The Bowers kid is something special and fun to watch on both ends of the floor had 18 last night the lone bright spot. Time will tell but glad to see its bball time.

Yes her name is alexis. I blieve shes playing in the Elite80 league at Carson Newman. Heard she had a workout in front of Radford Univ where she was only freshman invited with 10 Juniors and the coach loved her play. As for her dad, he was her aau coach, I believe he's the new boys freshman coach and I heard her aunt is on the girls side but I could've heard wrong.

Rumor mill has it an outstanding Freshman who saw significant minutes(first sub off the bench) this Summer at all the team camps is stepping away from the game, at least school ball. She's an outstanding unselfish point guard who sees the floor well, finishes strong at the basket, can score from mid to long range and handles the ball extremely well. Played on a couple travel teams that played all over and even played in FLA AAU Nationals where she got a couple early looks from a few schools is what i heard. May be a significant loss we'll see.
