  1. You're right. No need to keep making it for you. You have done a fine job continuing to make your point. Just not sure why you are coming after me so hard on this. You don't have a son who is a QB do you?
  2. Look baeagles, I really didn't mean to stir up anything by making that comment, so I retract it. We decided to leave JP2 for football reasons. The coaching staff saw my son as a defensive end. High school and college coaches across the nation saw him as a QB. We decided to go with the masses' opinions and transfer. We do not hold ill feelings toward JP2 coaching staff for doing what they thought best. The one thing we did have control over is where to go to school, so we left. Brentwood Academy was mentioned to us. We toured the school and our son did a shadow visit. Obviously, you are a BA Grad and I look forward to our son being one. I feel so blessed and fortunate to be at such a tremendous school. My wife, myself and our son are so happy to be at BA. I only hope that our son can uphold what a BA student/athlete represents. He loves his teamates and we have been made to feel welcome from day one by a whole lot of people. I want what's best for BA also. It is our first year so we are still learning the proud BA tradition.
  3. Slow down guys. Where did I trash Jeff Rutledge? All I said was talk to current people at JP2 and I promise you they will unload. Then, talk to MBA people from the time period when Rutledge was there. He did not leave MBA, he was fired. This has nothing to do with my opinion. The JP2 administration was also impressed with his resume and probably MBA was too. Not all football people are good head coaches.
  4. For all you people who think Rutledge is a good hire just ask JP2 people, you might get a different answer and while you're at it ask the people of MBA when he was there back in the day.
  5. Having played against both teams, 10-7 BA(W) vs Baylor and 37-34 BA(L) vs CBHS, I think these two teams are very evenly matched. I really expect a close, hard fought game and will not be surprised if CBHS wins. An edge for CBHS that no one has talked about is at QB. Both QBs are good runners but I give the edge in the passing game to CBHS. Gotta love this league!
  6. I agree CBHS played very well for 3 quarters. But "packed it in way too early" depends on which side of the fence you are on. From my side, BA opened up their passing game and CBHS could not stop it. I think most fans from both sides agree that BA was sluggish for the first 3 quarters, but that doesn't take away from the the play and execution of CBHS. Those were two very good teams and is another example of how tough this league is every week
  7. Just out of curiosity, why isn't Brentwood Academy mentioned on this board in conversations regarding the championship game?
  8. Post week 6 national rankings: unapproved website BA at #46, Ensworth at #48, Baylor at #62 rivalshigh.com BA broke into Top 100 at #89 That is a good bit of respect for this league
  9. It was great to witness how dominate the BA defense has become. If the defense continues to gel even more, it will give the young BA offense more time to come together and work on timing, especially on the deep balls.
  10. BA football dad here. After sitting through the BA/MBA game and also following MBA's box scores each week, my opinion is MBA is a very good team. There are very good players at key positions. Overall size is good. Do not know what depth is like. I think it is simply a matter of the new coach getting the team chemistry moving forward. We experienced that big time against Trinity where we had key players that were young, new and inexperienced. We were able to get it going the 2nd and 3rd games. MBA will be fine when they find there rhythm.
  11. Yes you can and it is called a "verbal offer"
  12. Sorry! I don't post stuff about Max. As a matter of fact, I just now registered with this site so I could respond to posts like this. If you would check further, the poster, Ballfan44, has a White House football helmet on his profile. I have no idea who it might be. I have no ill feelings toward JP2 coaches and at this point, a thank you to them would probably be in order.
