Good assessment GWAVE1. I looked back and the freshmen were 2-6 with 3 close losses. Keep in mine the seniors this year were 4-4 as freshman. Much takes place between 9th grade to 12th grade. Weight room and physical maturity go a long way.

 

I am optimistic but can see 5-5 a reality. I could see Beech and Mt. Juliet flip-flop as well as Gallatin and Hendersonville.

 

I have heard the Banks kid has been approached by JPII, but I just can't see that actually happening. I know JPII is again recruiting heavy in East Nashville (lack of diversity at JPII) and new facilities are a bit of a draw but I don't see JPII recruiting many Gallatin kids (Station Camp has received more). I still think Gallatin has great facilities and better than most all (ie. Weight Room, Indoor Sports Facility). The Stadium has a great atmosphere and all the prestige of a time-honored football stadium. It is a great school with more academic and honors courses than any other school in the county. Not sure why a kid would want to move out-of-zone or go to JPII unless someone is in there ear spreading untruths.

Idk what you centennial folks are talking about sinking. Franklins frosh and jv teams blew you guys out of the water and have alot of talent returning. The offseason is all about talk, and u guys are good at talking. Playing on the other hand, not so much.

Why wouldn't it be BHS though? They defeated both Indy and Franklin when it mattered. Even then, Franklin seemed to be one of the strongest teams in the end. Needless to say, no one knows who the best was and it doesn't really matter.

Yes, St. X is 6A in Kentucky and that is their highest classification. The team in Illinois that Whitehaven played is 7A out of 8 classifications so I treated that as a 5A game.

St Rita is one of the teams we played and I coached against, they are a very very strong club

As I was running through the scores last night, an intersting thought dawned on me and I thought I would share it. I'm sure it will set off another debate, but hey, thats what this site is mainly for, anyway.

 

The only 5a-6a school in district 11 to beat a non district opponent that was higher ranked than them in the playoffs was Centennial, a 6 seed def. a 3 seed Tullahoma. Franklin, a 3 seed, beat a 6 seed non district opponent (Smyrna). Brentwood beat higher seeded, but previously played district opponent, Independence.

 

Not sure what my point is, but I do have lots of respect for the turn around season of Centennial. Brentwood had a good season and a great late season run. Franklin way underachieved based on the brags. Indy had an unexpected turnaround, but was the beneficiary of an fairly easy schedule that left them unprepared for the playoffs resulting in a first round exit.

 

Congrats to all Williamson Co teams, but maybe you should lay off Centennial for a while. In my opinion, they had the most impressive season in the county.

So a team that came in 4 th had the most impressive season be it they lost to Indy FHS BHS

Seems the most impressive was Indy no one predictided them and look at them district champs

So chs beat a cupcake in the playoffs , they got a lucky draw

Chs had an easier schedule then indy ,

And Indy unprepared ..... Yeah that is a good one considering they already played BHS in the season and play them year in year out

Indy didn't lose because of thier schedule or being unprepared they lost to a hot BHS team and Indy offense was horrible plain and simple
