  1. They did line up against each other a few times when Gouger played Dline.Nothing earth shattering happened that i noticed either way. Shuler is built like a major D1 lineman already, whereas Gouger looks a lot more athletic. He moves very well for a kid his size, and almost looks like he could play fullback in college. They will put some good weight on him in college and he will be a beast. My vote is for Gouger!
  2. It should be extremely frustrating!! You guys have twice the number of boys to chose from, and you should be consistently putting a better product on the field. It says a lot about Baylor to be able to compete with the other schools in D2 when they have the lowest male enrollment of anyone in the conference. You can brag about 11 in a row all you want, but facts are facts and you can see the balance of power shifting to the BIG RED across town. I dont see a win in Mcallies future for quite some time.
  3. After playing both teams, Brentwood has the edge in this one. Brentwood has too much size and speed on both sides for Ensworth.
  4. Ill be perfectly honest and say I was highly disappointed with Columbia. I expected them to come over here with a lot of size and speed and I saw neither. No offense to any of the players for Columbia, but they shouldnt have been in the game. Baylor has had turnover problems this year and they continue to let inferior teams stay in ball games. The score of this game was not indicative of the dominant performance Baylor had.
  5. Brentwood has some absolute studs, and they definately had the edge athletically. That being said, the officiating was horrible regardless of which team you were rooting for. At one point in the first half, the refs gave Baylor a first down without even measuring and then spotted the ball almost 1.5 yards back from where they were marking it a first down. I dont believe our guys put out their best effort offensively tonight. Our defense played pretty good for the most part, but Brentwood dropped several balls that would have been huge plays. Offensively, I left the game thinking our coaches left a lot in the bag. Oellerich (sp) is a tough kid, but he didnt have his best game throwing the ball, and the receivers dropped some passes they usually catch. That being said, I wouldnt expect to see that again. Qb and receivers have been pretty spot on this year. The problem Baylor has had this year has been ball security. They have kept teams in games all year because of this. All in all, Baylor is a tough gritty team with a lot of heart, but in order to get a rematch we will have to hold onto the ball better.
