    Let’s be real….. there isn’t a lot of competition.

    Not hard to get wrong.

165 is down from last season on depth, the top 4 are pretty much going to be Piper and everyone else IF she stays there. I have no idea where she goes & she'll win at either class, but I came close to putting her at 152 since she's down there and Harris moving to 145.

Diamond too at 185, that could be a game changer. I'm not sure if those 3 moves are permanent after the duals but those drops were obvious (to me) after I saw our weigh in sheets from the match we had @ Cleveland for substate.

Although unlikely, a Fowler-Graham-Gilmore 152 pound field or a Murphey-Lynn-Young 185 group would definitely give the girls tournament some added juice with matches like that.

    Piper Fowler (Cleveland) – SO

    Irelynn Laurin (Rossview) – FR

    Carter Grissom (Riverdale) – JR

    Aliya Whaley (Maryville) – SO

Cearyona O’Connor (Montgomery Central) – SO

    Madalynn Sepulveda (Rockvale) – SO

here is an example as to why I said even if you don’t admit it that I help pin-Tn with the rankings since Round 5 of the Rankings I have put out this has been my 1-6.

you have had Jaden Enos at the number 6th spot. How come the change now?

1 Tournament at 132 and you move Brooklyn to 132. Interesting..

Cobb at number 2 at 132 out of no where..

Ty Bryant beats Long a state champ below Cobb who has no big match wins? Interesting

Yes I had Enos there, but going back through recent results led me to putting Sepulveda there. There were others in that mix I could have put at 6th too (Harris from Oakland was close), but looking at her body of work I went with Sepulveda.

Than quit worrying about something you cannot control (or in your case wont take the time to control) and just cheer on your daughter, because if this place had existed when I was a wrestler and my parents came on here like so many others had and ran their mouths, We would have had a very long talk and if it continued their butts would have been sitting outside while I wrestled, because yes they made sacrifices, but in the end I made the biggest sacrifice by actually participating in this sport. Do your job and be a great parent, because in the end they will prove if they are in that top spot or not.

If it's who I think it is, he shouldn't be worried about it. She's as close to a lock for another state title as there is.

Sorry I couldn't get updates out as fast as some would have liked, between doing work for the Boom Ranch boys and coaching my own team it's been busy.

Just a hunch but they are not keeping up with the rankings because no one has volunteered to do the girls rankings.  If you know of someone that is knowledgeable and objective you may want to have them contact those individuals that are doing the rankings.  The D2 rankings have not been updated on a regular basis because for a long time no one volunteered to do them.

    Not so fast my friend...

Lol sounds good and that’s what I do rank them where I see fit and trust Pin Tn gets rankings from me even if he does not admit it.

Your need for self gratification/recognition far exceeds any contributions you make towards what we do or do not include on Pin-TN. As I said before, I don't copy someone else's work hence why I haven't commented to you directly on anything up to this point after I said I wouldn't. If you still want to compare notes, I'll be in Franklin in a couple of weeks so we can talk then.

Seeing you were at Cleveland….. looking at the results Bella Harris is at 145, and Grassman is back at 114.

If there are others, you saying something won’t change what the teams can do. Weight descents don’t allow it.

I'm factoring in weight descents. Good luck to all of the teams competing.

Said this same thing last year makes no sense to split to 4 regions to have a sectional dual again. It’s simple just top 2 in each region advance to the state tournament..

I'll say this, don't be surprised if some BIG names have dropped down a weight class from where they're ranked now based on what I saw on Saturday. Out of respect for those athletes & coaches getting their teams ready for duals, I'm going to hold off on putting out any updates on Pin-Tn until next week.

Well there were only 2 Region Champions

     Those 2 are separated

And Rossview anf Clarksville b are separated bc they are same region

    Clarksville won 39-28

3 Region champs (Gibbs, Cleveland, Rossview). Next year this tournament deserves to have 8 teams, if they want to keep the girls division growing they should have 8 teams in field the same as the boys.

    As Fowler?

Your not helping your case as a knowledgeable girls wrestling person.

Either one, but of course the fan boy in you assumes I'm talking about Fowler.

All 3 are recent Super 32 finalists, right? Which ones were champs though most recently? All Fargo AA's, correct? Which ones were most recent? State champs? Each one has at least one state title with all 3 likely to be 4 timers, am I right?

I could keep going but what more do you need? It's all conjecture at the moment and seems to me "you're" underestimating what EM has accomplished. It's too bad we're not likely to see them match up.

    Maggie is 2nd for sure.

Fowler is 3-0 against her over the last year. Last one being a pin.

No way anyone can argue Maggie ahead of her.

Are you sure about that? Ella Murphey seems to be left out of these type conversations when they come up, but to me her resume is every bit as good as the other two.

    Who’s Poind4Pound #1?

    Piper??

Anyway, let’s continue to keep an eye on this ever growing program…

Thanks for the post, soms. I'll be pulling for Luciano to win it all this year. Her sister worked for me on a few business projects and introduced me to Ana a couple of years ago. It's been fun following her career at King, she's a great role model for HS girls competing in the sport and excited about the growth she's seen from our TN girls wrestling programs.

Oh hints why you critique what I put out but can’t be questioned about yours.. got it.

then why do the rankings if you don’t care who is where?

while also making calls to coaches to find out information that’s not important for your rankings.

I understand I help influence your rankings so it ok you don’t have to tell me.

I'm not into plagiarism "hence" I do my own homework with input from people/coaches whose opinions I respect. Not saying yours are bad, but your work has no bearing on how I go about doing mine.

I'll tell you what though, you won't hear a peep from me about your work the rest of the season.

Also how come the change to Mila Risner to 120 when I mentioned it about the 1/9 Rankings you said the coach stated she should be kept at 114?
ofc coaches don’t want to give all their information out but since I already put Burton in the rankings or mentioned their names might as well not keep it a secret anymore.

Relax.... I'm not expecting to be perfect nor am I all too worried about who, what, when, or where girls are at right now. In the end, the only standings that matter are the ones at the end of the year.

If you would swap Shelton with Cresson on pin TN rankings it would go

    1. Shane

    2.Val

    3.Cruz

    4.Cresson

    5.Shipley

    6. Shelton

    BUT

Shipley beat Shelton who beat Cresson

    making Shipley over Cresson..

even tho Cresson has a win over Shipley

that would put shelton at 6 and if you put Mila or Burton in at 14 it pushes shelton out.

152 I think Gilmore makes the drop if she wants a title why would Maggie do it if she is going to win at 152.

Shipley wrestled Nataleigh Shane pretty tough in the finals at the Halls tournament. She's all gas and no breaks, constantly putting pressure on her opponent. Postlewaite is good too, but based on what I saw from Shipley against Shane at Halls even in a loss I went with Shipley.

All 4 of them (Shipley, Postlewaite, Cruz, Shelton) are in Region 1 so that will sort itself out soon enough with one or two of them likely to drop out of the top 6 after the dust settles.
