Jerry Cobb would be the biggest joke as a Bobcat Coach.

I don't have a clue who they will hire, but I do believe they need to clean house with a few of the coaches that are on staff now. The coach is going to have to condition the guys and get them prepared for next season. We need someone who is going to be part of the community and do speed school. I know Blair is suppose to be head coach til the end of season, but it sure appears that Flippo is running the show. What is everyone s opinion of Flippo as head coach?

Vandychris. I'm sure you haven't attended a GCHS game all year. Yes one of the main problems was the head coach position. The guys was fired up last night and they worked harder this week than any other week. They actually practiced later and a real practice. Walt is gone and we are moving forward. Wish him the best of luck coaching the 9&10 year old kids from Lawrenceburg.

You need to be committed if you think Walt deserved to stay on as head coach. Like I said he shouldn't been allowed to even return this season. If you listened to his radio interview today you could tell what a coach he is. He didn't know the difference from a scrimmage and a real game and never would answer what the score was. He is right where he belongs coaching 9 & 10 year olds. Bobcats will be back to the program they had years back. It will take time, but they have a great support group to back the right coach and especially the team. GO BOBCATS

Wardawg2038 What does it matter if I'm related or not, but you never discriminate against a kid who has a sickness. It has never stopped him from playing sports since he was 6 years old and no other coach had a problem with him. One kid can't win a ballgame by himself. It takes teamwork and so you just said basically the boys on the field now are not capable of winning either. I totally disagree. Some kids are out there because who they are. I never said the staff discriminated. I said Walt did. I know more about those kids and that program than you ever will. VANDYCHRIS. Before you start calling Giles Idiots why don't you get the whole truth instead of part of the story. First, of all I'm sure you didn't here his interview on radio Friday night were he took no blame and talked about how bad the boys played. He said it was no one's fault, but the guys. He has talked about kids all year and before this happened he dogged several players and they had some talented guys to quit him. Everyone wants to talk about his two years at GCHS that he took the team to state. Those two years those guys were coached and program built under Oconner, Osteen and Beddingfield. When he was interviewed after the Marshall County game he stated he didn't have enough kids to not keep the same ones out there playing both sides of the field. That is complete BS. He had about 50 kids on that sideline. I'm not saying all are capable of being on the field, but I absolutely know he had talent on that sideline that could play either side and to give the starters a breather. He did show big favoritism and did a lot of discrimination against several players for being sick, hurt and the biggest was the young man that he wasn't given any playing time cause he was a diabetic and had to check his blood during practice. This young man very respectful and played football ever since he was old enough too. By this time of year the guys should be in shape and not having to come off the field cramping up. That just shows that their not in shape and the ones are will be at Clark's working out after practice. I listened to Walt's interview on the radio this afternoon and it was a joke. He knew his job was on the line since the season ended last year, but he give out a survey wanting to know what the problem was and stated what be wanted it to say. ThAt is were the administration should have stepped in, but they decided to hide behind the office doors. I know a lot stated why not wait til the season was over. Richland didn't have a problem dismissing Walt's brother n law two years back, Coach Busby. He came to GCHS but he was let go last year for a ungodly reason and that was a disgrace to the school and the program. I feel so bad for the seniors this year because this year was their year to shine and to go out winning for their fallen teammate. Also, their is some talented guys in this class after this season may not have the chance to show college recruits what they have to offer. I know there is a hand full of freshman parents upset over Walt being let go, but I have to say to you that you haven't been with him three years now. I for one support and back Mr. Wright and his staff on a job well done. I believe he will try his best to turn this county around. He may been the man we have needed for years. Mr. Wright said tonight that himself, his staff, school board, Mr. Cardin and some that was in attendance in the meeting would make up a committee to check each candidate out. I'm sure WKSR has the interview after the game and they probably don't mind sharing it. The announcer for the game had come back and stated that it was the coaches job to get the guys prepared for the game and to get the guys hyped up. As several people stated before to my post the guys read this and I'm not going to down these guys. I'm thinking the guys will be fired up on Friday night and Bobcats come out on top.

I just want to say that finally Walt Smith is gone. I'm glad the boys didn't hear what he said over the radio last Friday night. Our boys I hope go out Friday night and kick butt. Hope they have a better and positive attitude and take care of business. Let's win this Bobcats.

Don't agree with whichever coach decided to put freshman qb back in the second half. Jordan Tucker looked a lot better. The guys looked better. Hoping the Bobcats can pull off a win Friday for homecoming against Spring Hill.

I'm not living in a mad little world. I know what is important and it is not putting the boys through anymore pain. These boys have lost a lot more than football games. This year should be more pleasant for them especially the seniors. I hate to see them so disheartened and here them talk about it and nothing is being done. The boys need a break so bad and I hoping it comes soon. They have worked to hard over the years and this program has been built back to let it be dragged down.

GCBOBCAT52. Just let you know Bridgeforth isn't the only middle school team in the county. Those boys your referring to as 7th and 8th graders at Bridgeforth did get beat a lot. By the SouthGiles Eagles which went undefeated that year and by Richland Raiders. Just to inform you the Eagles kids come from Elkton and Minor Hill. A lot of your starters this year was Eagles. Peyton Hall, Rykell Reed, Caleb Clem, Cliff Garner and I know there is some I missed. The Bobcats has the talent on and off the field. Just as I said in my last post if your not giving Smith "WHAT" he wants then your kid doesn't see the field. PURPLEGOLD do you know why he was let go from My Pleasant? When you find that out you will see why we have no use fir him.

Your absolutely correct playthegame150 the Bobcats are not conditioned or coached. Walt whether sit in the classroom and watch film than the guys hit the weights. The guys that are in shape you will see at Clark's. This team is the first team Walt had to put together. Last two seasons was OC' s team. We all see what Walt is capable of and that is the PeeWee level in Lawrenceburg. Maybe his brother n law can get him a job with him since he was let go last year for what reason.......

I hate to know my tax dollars is paying for that stadium with Walt Smith on that field. When will it be enough to get rid of him. The boys have give up on themselves. Bobcats has a lot of talent but if your not doing what Walt wants then your kid doesn't play. Cardin wants to wait til the end of the year to fire him, but he shouldn't be the one making the call.
