I don't give myself credit, I just don't give you any. How much rent do I owe you for permanent occupancy in your cranium?

I do have one friend who knows who you are, GM. I must take back what I said about it being a good thing that you're not a teacher. You're really about to graduate from Wesleyan to be a teacher, and yet you can't even structure a meaningful sentence without molesting basic English taught in elementary school? If it weren't so sad this would be funny.

I talked to coach Morgan about assisting him, but he said I was too honest and had already blown his cover. He said he preferred someone like you who would bow down to him and continue kissing his backside as you praised him as being "The Legend".

This is boring. You and your friend just look me up.
  2. Does anyone know if Coach Johnson was offered the position and whether she accepted it? In addition to her, another name has surfaced - Kylie Lambert. Both were great former players for Central.

Sources close to the program have introduced a new name to the mix. Coach Carbo. He seems to know everything there is to know about Central basketball and Chameleons.

But it does make a difference to you or you wouldn't keep responding. Bless your heart, I'm into your head and have taken you to school a few times so you're struggling to reply with something valid.

The positives of the program were the years Joe Young was there coaching. Plenty of talent supplied by McMinn Fire to win several gold balls if Johnny had only left the game coaching to Joe in Murfreesboro. Sad that "The Legend" (insert sarcasm here) never understood that the program wasn't about him.

Since you're getting thin-skinned about your misspellings and grammar abuse I'm going to ease up on you about that. I'm just thankful that you're not a teacher!

One of my friends on here thinks you're Johnny himself. From your continual praise about him I can see why they believe that.

Into my head. LMAO. You give yourself way too much credit Carbo. But at least you finally made a valid point. McMinn Fire was started at about the same time that Joe Young came on board. Both were a big reason for the program getting stronger. And compared to you, Johnny Morgan is a legend. Pardon the sarcasm, but do you really have friends on here.

Where do come up with the idea I hate the program? Just because I don't agree with you? Come on bballer1, you can do better than that. I don't even hate Johnny Morgan. Just because I've pointed out facts doesn't make me a hater.

Joe Young WAS the program as I pointed out to you before. Johnny was only a good coach before Joe got there to teach him. The program's state tournament appearances started AFTER Joe arrived. Their winning increased by about 25% AFTER Joe arrived. That's not a coincidence, and to not give full credit to Joe Young for the success of the program and the gold ball is ignorant. Everyone knows that.

ps: I wasn't going to say anything, but you need to work on your spelling, grammar and fragmented sentences.

P.S.S. Do you even know what a fragmented sentence is? Doubtful. Why would someone give full credit to a coach for winning a gold ball? I guess the girls that actually played the game had nothing to do with the win. And whether or not you hate the program or not makes no difference to me. Trust me, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. But I don't think I have ever heard anything positive about this program in any of your posts. Everybody hates a WINNER. Oh, and don't forget to check for any misspelling issues or grammatical errors in my post before you reply.
  5. I wish I was as smart as you are! Congrats on your achievements!

Your obviously pretty close to the program since you know so much about it. But you hate it so bad. Are you a dis-gruntled parent or what. Lol. I never took anything away from Joe Young because I know how important he was to the program. He is a great coach who will be a success wherever he goes. One gold ball is one gold ball. More than most programs have. But to take anything away from the success of Johnny Morgan in the past thirty-five years is ignorant. Hope I didn't spell anything wrong in this post! And yes I would say that most people view Central as a powerhouse in AA.
  6.

If she is going to learn from the Hall of Fame coach then she will join Tennessee Wesleyan's staff where Joe Young will be. Note of clarification: Being considered a powerhouse constitutes winning more than one gold ball.

I wish I was as smart as you are! Congrats on your achievements!
  7. I think it would be hard for Coach Johnson to leave Alcoa even to go coach at her old high school, teachers salary at Alcoa is one of the highest in the area. Also why give up a head coaching position to be an assistant.

Maybe the money isn't the only thing that is important to her. Also, if the rumor is true and Coach Morgan does step down in a couple of years, why not learn from a Hall of Fame coach with the opportunity to take over a powerhouse program at your alma mater in a few years.
  8. I could care less who is after this young lady. Just let the facts speak for themselves. 65.1% career field goal percentage for her entire career. If I read it correctly, that is 5th nationally all-time, not just this year. Wow, congrats to Bob77 on this young ladies outstanding career. I wish her well at the next level. Don't understand how anyone could take this thread and put any negativity into it. Again, Congrats to this outstanding young lady! That is my 2 cents from 5AA. Go Chargerettes.

  9. I just don't agree with a parent yelling it out or even going to the coach and letting him know the signals. That's just my opinion. I think it takes away from the integrity of the game. The game should be decided between the confines of the playing fielde. The post that really blew my mind was the softball game where parents are allowed to sit behind the back stop and give the hitter pitch locations. Sure seems like an umpire or game official could do something to prevent this from happening. My two cents.

  10. If it was the coaches or players that figured the signals out I would have said it was ok because that's just part of the game. But it was not. I am in total agreement with you. I do question the coach if this went on for an entire ball game or even an inning. It's not that difficult to change the signals up and I just wonder why they did not.

  11. I will agree that many girls came to Central because of Joe Young. But as long as Central makes a strong hire, I don't think anything will change. I believe you will still see the same players come to Central Next year. Young will still work with the Fire program and it will continue to put out good, quality players. Yes, Centrals record was much better when Young came on board. But Johnny Morgan is a legend. Put two great coaches together and the results speak for themselves. The true winner here is Jeff Rice and TWC. You will not find another coach that can teach the game from a fundamental standpoint like Joe Young. I personally think that he could have named his ticket to many places but this was a good fit for him and his family. MC will miss him but they will be back and in the mix as usual.

  12. This will be a challenge for MC with Joe Young stepping aside to persue a college coaching career. But I believe Johnny Morgan will find a suitable replacement and the Chargerettes will be just fine. Too much returning talent to not make some noise. Add that to the return of Myers, who missed the entire year due to shoulder surgery, plus a ton of incoming freshman, and I think the Chargerettes will make another run at the " Boro."

  13. Like all Central fans, I made some comments on the " call ." I never took away anything From CC as they played a great game and played their hearts out. And I also realize that MC got some questionable calls as well. It's a shame either team had to lose. I will say this. After the loss, many of our MC fans were rooting against CC. I am one of the few who wish Cannon would have won it all. Nothing wrong with losing to a state champion. I would like to congratulate the CC girls on an outstanding season. I take nothing away from CAK, but if the same team shows up in the "Boro" that played in the roundhouse a week ago, the end result would have been much different. I would doubt that CC has ever scored only 8 points in a half and it was too hard to overcome. I will end by saying I hope we meet again soon and I'm sure we will. As fans and parents, we should just let the girls battle it out on the floor and enjoy watching it. And lastly, as adults, tip your hat to the other team no matter what the outcome.

  14. My comment on the game Sat. night is not about the shot or free throws or how the refs called it. My comment is about before anything started we bowed our heads and was led in prayer by a student. You do not see this happen much any more and it is a tragedy. I hope we meet MC again soon because when we meet it means we are both playing for something special.

Totally agree with your comments. And I am sure we will meet again soon. No one can take away the fact that both of these teams played their hearts out and it's a shame there had to be a loser in this one. Good luck the rest of the way.
  15.

In my opinion It wasn't disrespectful at all. Central has taken far more talented teams to the 'boro and not won. Ashley Knox wasn't a starter and I don't remember Young or Raper starting either, but I could be wrong about one of the latter two.

Well we meet again. I will not spell check you as you did me but you need it as well. Ashley Knox was a starter. Not sure about Young but she always got significant minutes. I will agree with you on Raper not being that involved. But this team had Adams. Definitely one of the best players that has ever come through the program. This team might not have been the best to have ever come through Central, but they have the prize that matters most! Hope I didn't misspell anything.
  16.

It's "no" wonder, not know wonder.

I don't have a problem accepting that the refs did the best they could, even the trailing one trying to look at both the shooter and the clock. Where you and others have a problem is in not understanding how they could have missed a shot that was launched a tenth of a second after the clock hit 0:0. Some of you said the refs blew it, or missed something so obvious. I say it was obvious to you because you've had time to look at the video frame-by-frame from the comforts of your home. Did the refs have any of those luxuries? Yet many of you are still blaming them? Unreal! These same refs that you all complain about are the same ones who put Central in the bonus and double bonus and gave Central twice the amount of freethrows than Cannon got, so there goes the conspircacy theory.

I'm not from CC, but what does that have to do someone not knowing a referee's job? Are you trying to say that only a Central fans know what a ref's job is? I think that's part of the problem with Central fans, they think they know it all. I must better than you knowing their job since you think the refs should have been able to determine the shot was a tenth of a second late.

The boy's game: Has it occurred to you Central folks that the Chargers were behind by double digits in the 4th period and were intentionally fouling the last few minutes, which added a lot to their foul count? Looks like coach Armstrong hasn't figured that out either.

Must be something in the Etowah water that causes blame to go to others. Laughable, yet sad.

Oooh! Now Carbo is a spell checker 2. Know, oops, I mean no, I believe you think you know it all. Obviously you do not or you would never have used a word like chameleon in a basketball thread. Actually, your extremely laughable. I haven't made excuses for Centrals play. I said there was a bad call made. And there was. We can go on and on. Not a problem for me. I may just take this time and spell check all your previous posts for a mis-spelling. You obviously have way too much time on your hands. Oops, did I use the word too wrong. Please Carbo, let me know. I will be waiting in suspense.
  17.

To do it the way you're describing the ref would have had to lay on the floor and have the shooter's fingertips in the line of sight with the scoreboard......about where a chameleon would be. Obviously that won't happen because it can't happen, so the refs did the best they could with what they saw in real time. It's just too hard for you all to accept that? TWO refs said the shot was good, and apparently the third one conceded to their call without discussion.

Oh yeah, I noticed the blame the ref disease has carried over to the boy's coach.

First off, I gave CC credit for playing a great game and also said It was Centrals fault for not doing the things they needed to do. Obviously you are a CC fan who knows nothing about a referees job. Why do you think there is a scoreboard above each tunnel in every arena in the country. It's not only for the fans but the refs as well. What is your perspective. Do you think the trailing referee is going to be a foot from the shooter. If that's the case it's know wonder you couldn't see both. But step back from the play at the proper angle and wow, it's possible to see both. I cant believe it! Not sure about the boys coach. I do know this. LA-37 free throws. MC-20 free throws. Like I said. MC has no one to blame but themselves for being in that situation. But a good referee can do two things at once. Is it just to hard for you to accept that!
  18. Not sure how this is not seen as illegal seeing that he is a coach for mcminn central. Any coach who is encouraging kids to come to a school they are not "zoned for" before they have graduated from eighth grade would be deemed illegal according to the tssaa. However, this happens all over the state and rarely, if ever, is anything done about it.

You are right, this happens everywhere and will continue. However, as mentioned in a previous post, Coach Young does not recruit. He is simply just a very talented coach. Add Young to the legendary Johnny Morgan and girls and parents flock to Central. I don't agree with some of the decisions these parents make because everyone cannot play. Personally I would want my daughter to go where she is going to get the earliest opportunity to play. I think many come just for the opportunity to be on a championship team whether they play or not. But I will end by saying they don't come because of recruiting, they come because of reputation, a testament to Coach Young.
  19.

So you think the trailing official should be a chameleon? How else can he focus on a girl's fingertips at 5 feet high in front of him and also on a scoreboard mounted on a wall 25 feet high? Contested or uncontested, you can't watch both and be perfect to a tenth of a second. At least two out of the three reafs called it good in their best judgement.

The trailing official is taught to position himself where he is able to see the shooter and the clock. It's the same principle as an umpire being taught to position themselves where they can see an outfielder make a catch on a fly ball and the runner tagging up. It's been done like this for years by ordinary people. But I'll have to admit I've never seen a chameleon make a call before.
  20.

Is a referee supposed to have independent eyes like a chameleon where he can focus one on the girl's hands and the other on the clock?

Thats an intelligent question. But from where the play originated from and where it ended up yes the trailing ref should have seen both. And surely out of three referees on an uncontested shot the right call should have been made. But as I said I take nothing away from CC. They played a great game. Any more questions?
  21. Hey I am wondering if anyone saw on Channel 5 news, that New York HS boys team make a shot with 2.9 left on the clock to win the game. This happens more than you know. Mostly when the other team thinks they have won, and they let their guard down. McMinn was betting that Sissom was going to shoot and your video shows that Masingale didnt guard Jakes. Therefore wide open 3 was in air as the buzzer is sounding. You can't hear that on the video but it was heard by official that counted it. Awsome play by Sissom and Jakes. Just proves the right team is playing in the glasshouse on Thursday. Good Luck Lionettes

Bottom line is CC is going to the "Boro" and MC is not. And i congratulate them. But unless you are the official that made the call how can you say what he heard or what he didn't. The gym was extremely loud and I would bet most people, including the official you mention, never heard the final buzzer. However lets just admit to the fact that the trailing official should have easily been able to see the ball in Jakes hands and the clock at 0.0 and that's where the true mistake was made. There was no one near the shooter so there was no chance of her being fouled on the shot so these 3 officials didn't have a whole lot to do at that particular moment. Central had their chances and have no one to blame but don't say this just proves the right team is playing in the glass house. Put CC in the same position and see how they would have reacted. It would have been no different.
