Those three backs in the 80's; cowan, manning, angel may never be duplicated. Not alot of drop off with that group. Super talented, with a not-to-shabby group of lineman opening up holes.

She couldnt just congratulate Eagleville, she had to make the statement that Moore Co wouldve for sure beaten Gordonsville. It just lit a little fire under me.

your words have alot of merit, except one important part. I was right there on the two point conversion. Johnson's knee was down before his own momentum was stopped. He was indeed short of the goal at that point and then lunged forward after the whistle. He argued it because of how important it was but no one else was complaining. The game was decided however on a two point conversion, but it was watson, not johnson. For the record, under the weight of the importance of the game, the refs really did a good job. I didnt see any calls that weren't justified, and the times they didnt call violations that were obvious, they were just letting them play. Give credit where credit is due. Btw, they got the onside kick call correct also.

I, for one, am looking forward to playing Eagleville, regardless of the result; after dreading the rematch with South Pitt for an entire year! I had a year of stress fall off of me last night. You think I'm joking but I'm not.

Defense did in fact win last nights championship. I told my dad on the ride home last night that Gordonsville's offense is impressive and hard to stop, but i believe their defense is even more impressive. That was a tough pirate team last night. The pirates have played some tough competition this season, but no one held them to 13 points. I kind of appreciate the "gordonsville got lucky" "gordonsville isnt that impressive" "gordonsville won because of pirate turnovers" talk coming out of this game because other team are now believing it. Even a Moore Co fan said last night said they hated losing to eagleville because they would've for sure beaten gordonsville; uhm, ok? in regards to Coen hitting johnson's johnson; I didn't see it and I was sitting on the south pitt side. Like five guys hit him at the same time. If I would've seen it; id admit it. HOWEVER, i wasnt going to bring it up but since the coen talk is continueing, what I did see that was sheilded from gville fans view was when south pitt was heamed inside the 2 yd line, lankford rared back and punched mccoy hard right in the face, while mccoy was laying on his back AND it was 5 ft from the ref, and nothing was done about that. I actually can't believe their were no personal fouls last night; the refs really let them play for the most part. Now its on to our next championship; quarterfinal round against Eagleville.

Hahaha, Moore Co was easily beatable and it was proven tonight. Yea it may have been a bad call tonight, but Moore Co wouldve been no match for Gordonsville. It was good to get a close loss handed to the raiders tonight to save themselves the embarassment they wouldve gotten next week. Actually kind of upset the Tigers didnt get to be the ones to spoil your season.Btw ; could someone from Eagleville bring me a bbq potato next friday? Please and thank you, lol.

What a great game. Just like a heavy weight fight. The rumble in the jungle. Pirate fans be safe traveling home and you should be very proud of a great team and a good season. Bigswo, dont be lulled to sleep or consider Gordonsville vulnerable just because the two best teams in 1 A just had a knock down drag out game tonight. D-LINE, do what youve done all season; bust through and stay camped in the pirate backfield, seal the edges, hem those burners up and the linebackers will clean em up all night. Play as a TEAM and play mistake free football. On O, dont try to get cute like polk co did against these pirates, just pound the rock, lay on em all night long. Be physical, own time of possession and the pirates will lose steam in the second half. The past is the past. Tonight is OUR night.
