Summertown 10-0 in 5 innings. Great hitting by the Eagles.

Wayne Co field is TERRIBLE!

Summertown was 6 of 7 on three pointers at one point in the first quarter. There was a stretch of 5 0f 5 on consecutive possessions in that quarter by 4 different shooters. Stown led 42-20 at the half. This team is playing a lot better now moving into district play. It's gonna be a fun season I they continue to get better at this pace they may upset some teams that ain't ready for them!

Summertown has begun to play more team ball and is playing better. That is what most Eagles fans have come to expect from the program. They don't have to get on here and brag about winning a few games, but when they aren't playing well that's something they will discuss. Now to give credit where credit is due. Coach Hunt has pulled the kids together. They have begun to play a game inside the paint area and not just firing up a three pointer every possession. They are still shooting several three pointer but making more because they are not contested and rushing the shots. Better ball movement and the effort to get the ball low to Beard has greatly improved. When they learn to quit making the stupid mistakes of youth like stepping out of bounds, 3 second lane violations, and forcing the ball when it shouldn't be, this team will be a solid team. Summertown was wiped last night vrs Mt Pleasant. The athleticism of MP was far better than Summertown. But Stown found a way to use that aggression against them. Foul trouble and frustration set in. Now before the blame game comes in on the reff's. There were a few calls that went agains both teams, fact is after the 1st quarter Stown was the better team last night. Stown couldn't get a rebound or hit a shot in the first quarter and got themselves in a mess. Down by about 13 or more at one point it looked like it was going to be a blow out! The kids kept battleing and thats what is expected from a Summertown team. Wanted to throw a shot out to Tyler (I think is his name smallest kid on the team), he showed a huge effort and courage on his play early in the come back when he took the ball to the basket. Early in the game the Eagles had been rejected most every time, and every shot was contested, his shot and completion of the traditional 3 point play was huge early in the contest. The Eagles have come off a good week of basketball.

The talent drop with the second set is quite large. Hope that doesn't continue into district play. Way to many 3 pointers!! and NO offensive rebounding! An inside game and offensive rebounding and this team can play with most anyone.

Summertown beat Richland at home 54-51 but led mostly the whole game. Led by 10 but Richland tied it up in the 3rd quarter once. Summertown lives on the three pointer!

Loretto (South Lawrence) middle school team may be the #3 team in District 12! I think they would beat their high school team!

What has happened to baseball in district 12? Is Summertown back to a state contending level or is the whole district level down? The scores indicate nobody except Collinwood can do anything.

Now that's taking a chance and making a bold prediction! Surprise it's #1 seed vrs #2 seed! How about a Perry Co vrs Wayne or a Perry Co vrs Summertown prediction that would be a surprise. Summertown vrs Collinwood is my pick for championship & Collinwood wins by 16 in Championship game

With stats that strong he needs to shoot alot more than 16a times a game!

Can't really reflect on what happen in the game, Those pants that Micha had on stole the show!! Hard to watch the game for laughing at those pants!!

Later that year Goodlettesville was told to clean up their district boarders and remove any kids out of the district boundaries. They chose to leave Dixie Youth instead of playing by the rules. Little League grandfathered in the illegal players by agreement. Look for this years 12 year old team to repeat with great success. All the district teams went Ozone to get away from Goodlettesville in tournament play and it has taken over the state as the largest Dixie Youth league after 10 year olds. Swaping to little league had nothing to do with field sizes. Just stating the facts!

Goodlettsville was given a letter from Dixie Youth to clean IP their boundary issues and release players outside their district that belonged to neighboring Dixie Youth leagues. They did not comply so was ejected from Dixie Youth. The State Director was dismissed over the rule violations he allowed to go on in Goodlettsville. The above statement is true they have pulled the best players away from the other Dixie leagues illegally and continue to allow them to play in Goodlettsville. Little is loosing teams so fast they are desperate to get any communities to join in. LL allowed them to grandfather in these kids. I can assure you Dixie Youth is better without them. The last 2 years have been awesome at the state tournaments with every team having a chance to be a State Champion. Goodlettsville was out of control and ran from discipline. Little League will regret taking on this cancer. Bless the kids they have done nothing wrong and Congratulations for what they achieved. Goodlettsville won every age group in Dixie Youth from 5-6the 7-8 9-10 & 11-12 and when they had 2 all-star teams the other team usually finnished second place. Then they would win it the next year with a different set of kids. These kids were playing out if district from all the other communities and when caught Goodlettsville ran. ESPN stated they were looking for more competition! Wrong Little League almost didn't take them in fact they almost had no where to go. I always found it funny that they always have the maximum team limit before having another all star team. Example with 6the teams you have 1 all-star team with 7-12 you have 2 all-star teams. Goodlettsville would loose from 12 9-10 year old teams too 6the 11-12 year old teams. How do you loose 50% of your league? Well this would allow them drop to 1 all-star team in 11-12. Rational thinking would have to figure with some normal lose of kids they should retain 8/9 11-12 year old teams. Too convenient in my eyes! We played against Goodlettsville for years in State tournaments and I can assure you they are missed! Like a sore toe!

Will have to be someone that works cheep! Lawrence county school board doesn't pay well! Can't get a football coach, basketball coach or keep the coaches we have! Several changes to come it appears!

Our coaches and players actually relish playing great competition and bigger schools that you say " smalls schools can't compete with" which is the main reason our kids are prepared no matter the stage. Our region foes like TC & Gville regularly play up in football with the mindset that iron sharpens iron. Your school might want to try it EA, instead of nurturing that "insecure or scared" attitude that life's not fair. My school plays tough competition every year. They don't hide. I am not speaking for my school. Again my kids are not in high-school yet. Simply I am commenting on the situation. I keep going back to one school winning multiple state tournaments in multiple sports in the same year. This is not common and should not be at a state level. Can you really not see a problem or at least how it looks to be a problem to those on the outside looking in.

Everyone has the right to live were they want. They can choose the reason for better schools, sports teams, jobs in the area. Its when kids are transported across town or asked to come to this school because they play a sport that bothers me. I think they should have the right to do that. I just think they should compete with other that do. For the record I am not a Perry Co fan. In fact we play against them yearly. I only brought this up because it was stated that this is the third or fourth state championship this year. Do you really believe that is just 100% effort of the regular kids that have always been in your school? Or is it possible their are a few new faces added over the past few years. For 1the school to have that much success is VARY RARE! You do not see that with pubic schools you do however see that in privates.

You don't want to play with them because you can't play by there rules. In other words you can't compete. That s why you wanted to stay in divison I. That's why we don't want you in division I cause we can't play by your rules. Saying you can't help it that a star athlete chooses to play with you is fair to us. is crazy. You said it in your own words. CHOICE we don't have the choice. Perry Co is Perry Co kids unless the family moves. Wayne Co is Wayne Co unless they move and so on. We can't choose the school we want to play for. You can. Step up and playing wit the others that can. You can't run with the big dogs so you choose to stay on the porch "division I".

Regardless of school size when a school has the ability to select students it is unfair to those that are boundary locked. It only takes 4-6 players in basketball in a class to build a team. It doesn't matter if there are 300 or 3000 kids in the school. Privates can go get select kids. Public's have to veterinary kids in their boundaries. It's simple. I'm not saying any of the kids on this team were recruited fact is I don't know. But you can. If you can't see that, I'm sorry. In baseball this is very true as well it just takes a few to add to the regular and wow a team gets a lot better. Especially in Single A.
