has there ever been a more true lady blue devil? my mind can think of some that come close to you, but you exceed all others. there are those who play the game, and there are players. you, #11, are a player. you live it and breathe it. everyone that has ever watched you play, knows that. that, my dear friend, is something to be proud of; to hold you head high about. as a leader and teammate, you were a motivator and always have been. you embraced and understood the story of the turtle on the fencepost...he didn't get there by himself ...life has knocked you some loops, and you still come out positive. i am so very proud of you. as a person, i know of no-one with better character or with higher potential. i can't wait to see what the future holds for you.

a statement was made earlier in the season that unicoi and happy valey should put their teams together and try to beat central...looks like that didn't need to happen...unicoi put the doubts out of everyones minds as to who was the better team and by quite a large margin i might add way to go big blue...you made us proud

colton white, unicoi county

In the game of basketball, as with any other game...and life for that matter, there are two types..."those who just play the game", and "players". "Those who just play the game" would have taken Blue Devil 1's statement (White holding Carrol to 7 pts at HV) to be offensive and something "to get fired up about." Players, like Alex Carrol and Colton White take it as a statement of respect. The question was asked, who are the best juniors in the conference, the answer was given Colton White. What makes him the best junior? Many, many reasons with one being that in ONE game he held another OUTSTANDING player to 7 pts. I salute PLAYERS like Carrol and White.

The junior with the most talent in the Watauga Conference is hands-down Colton White. He is a versitle 6'3 player who can easily play any position. He is a scoring threat, a master of rebounding, a phenominal shot blocker, a heck of a dunker and down right fun to watch. God has given us all talents...one of Colton's is the natural ability to play basketball. It is natural to him. What he has, you can't teach.

i don't think you can count out Unicoi County

It seems as if Unicoi County is turning a lot of heads (read Prep Notes in today's Johnson City Press) 2 time winners of the Piston Award and this week's Boy's Player of the Week Colton White. While the Press picks HV by one, Unicoi is ahead of HV in the rankings. Unicoi County is posting these numbers with impressive post player Ike Weaver injured. Im not so sure that HV usually owns Unicoi County. Recent games have come down to the wire with HV edging by. This is a huge game for both teams. Tonight is sure to be a thriller. GO BIG BLUE!!!
