  1. Are you a retired football coach and looking to be back around the game? Are you an up and coming coach looking to put some more on your resume and gain valuable experience while doing so? Then look no further! The Middle Tennessee Honey Badgers, the upstart semi-professional/minor league football team is looking for an offensive line coach, defensive backs coach, running backs coach, and special teams coordinator. I need guys with real experience and guys that have the ability to coach adult men in football. This team is comprised of recent former high school seniors who did not get recruited but are looking for a second chance at college football, former college players looking to resurrect their careers and hoping for that second chance at the next level as well as current semi-pro/minor league players looking for that platform to display their talents and get scouted for a chance at the next level. If you are interested, please email resumes to CoachPotts78@comcast.net. The staff is coming together and I have coaches so far that are committed to not only coaching these men but also mentoring them in the process. I need men with good character and work ethic along with the ability to fix your schedule to be available when the team needs you to be there. We start our season in July and games are on Saturday night. We play ten games in the regular season with 5 home and 5 away. The away games we are guaranteed to not travel more than 5 hours away. There is a chance at a league championship, semi-pro football bcs national championship and the minor league football news national championship as well. This is serious football and highly competitive. I need real coaches. Jump on board and be part of something special.
  2. For those who want to know, I am teaching PE and assisting with the disciplinary program at the school and they are helping me to get my Transitional License and also become fully certified. I have substituted for one teacher already where I was in charge of teaching math and science. I intend to become fully certified in math once my PE piece is done and I can start adding on to it.
  3. Good Evening All, I am sorry for not coming back on here and responding to any of the comments posted. I truly had just forgotten about it and decided to stop worrying about it. I did finally find a teaching job by the grace of God at a charter middle school in the Nashville, TN area. As for coaching, I have had a fun year doing that though it was not necessarily at the levels I wanted it to be. I understand what everyone is saying and I can appreciate all of the advice. I am not sure if I will ever coach again but as of right now, I am not sure I am so concerned with it anymore. It is what I love doing and it is who I am but I have a family to think about and I have caused them to suffer enough while trying to achieve an impossible dream and goal. This profession truly is based on who you know and I don't know the right people evidently. If an opportunity ever presents itself to me, I will listen and ponder it but I am done begging and trying to learn the networking game as a coach for now. If it is meant to be, then I guess it will happen at what ever point in my life it happens. Thank you again for taking time to respond and laugh at me at the same time.
  4. I would love the opportunity but I doubt that is in the cards.
  5. MSU please explain. I am interested and would like to know who I rubbed the wrong way. You seem to know exactly who I am. I think all of you have taken my comments the wrong way. I am not wanting to trash anyone or come off arrogant but as a Marine we are trained to believe and know we are the best. I am confident in my own skills and have legitimately tried to do things the right way when applying, interviewing, etc and gotten no where. I was coming on here looking for real advice and possible leads, not to be trashed by people who have no idea what I am going through or what my life is like day to day. Again MSU, I am interested to hear what it is you know about me and the people I rubbed the wrong way when I have applied to different places.
  6. I hear he coaches Semi-Professional/Minor League football as well!
  7. Hey WildChild, I agree with you. I am a former active duty Marine NCO up until last June when I was medically discharged. The Marine Corps is the most elite branch of the military and most respected because of our discipline, respect for authority, commitment to excellence, and ability to lead and motivate those around us. I hear that Defensive Coordinator over at Harding Academy did great things this year with their middle school program and he is a Marine! Maybe he could be a much needed addition to the staff there that could help in changing the culture and turning things around. I hear he is looking for a high school teaching/coaching job and played at Columbia Central for Spring Hill Middle School Principal Phillip Wright! Maybe the Spring Hill faithful should look into that guy!
  8. I have not been on here in a few days and just read the most recent comments. First let me say to Basil Duke, mancoverage and TCstinger, you three clowns sound like a bunch of winners. Absolutely not a clue between all three of you! As for you MSU, I am sorry you are offended by my comments and confidence in my skills and abilities and the fact that I know the laws regarding teacher licensure and most of the schools in Tennessee do not. I realize you are jealous of a Marine calling you out, you must be one of those teachers that have contributed to Tennessee's disgraceful statistics nationally in education or you would not have said what you did. I am sure there are a lot of football teams, staffs, and schools that would love to have someone of my caliber in their system. It is just a matter of finding where those systems are that value real quality candidates to teach, mentor and coach our youth currently. I excuse your ignorance to the fact of what life is like for military veterans and the fact you probably never served. You talk real big on the internet but I dare you to do it in person. Maybe you should grow some courage and go walk a day in my shoes then you will realize my frustration. I realize how "close" high school staffs are and the hours they put in, I do the same now as a middle school coach and semi-professional coach. I have worked more hours as a Marine than you will in an entire lifetime. I am not concerned about hours or the fact that most staff's are buddy buddy! You can't deny facts and credentials. Sissycoverage, my dare goes out to you too, you sound real cute on the internet talking trash, why don't you come do it in person. TCstinger as a lead guitar and vocals, aren't you on the wrong website? This isn't a band website!
  9. Byfaith, thank you so much. You are the first person that has had some real advice and could somewhat relate to my situation. I am looking into the whole student teaching thing now and I am already in school online working on a Masters of Sports Science degree in Sports Coaching/ Sports Management. Really thinking about moving in another direction before I get too far gone in that but it seems right. I will keep in mind exactly what you said and I would love to stay in contact and get some mentoring with this. maybe we could swap contact information and talk occasionally as I am trying very hard to navigate this mess. I have been told that it easier to get employment in Georgia or Alabama as they are more accepting of Transitional License people. I just don't want to have to leave my home state as my daughter is here and I have joint custody of her. She depends on me so much and wants her dad at every event. Thank you for making sense when no one else has.
  10. Big Chief, I am not arrogant, it is called confidence in my credentials and skills. If that scares anyone, I am sorry about that. WCP was not trying to help, only trying to tell me I was not qualified. I won't just stand by and let someone talk about me or try and bring me down. If people were trying to help they would be offering me interviews and a job. I guess the real world really doesn't understand Marines nor military in general. Thanks again for your attempt to help me.
  11. I do this take seriously or I would not be trying so hard. I am sure you are a decent teacher, but not as good as someone like myself. A decorated Marine with a an education degree is tens time better a teacher and role model, but there again you wouldn't know that because you probably never served and are probably too scared to walk in my shoes anyway. You go on and keep pumping yourself up that way when you look yourself in the mirror each morning, you can convince yourself you have made a difference. Pretty sure your school that you work in is not that great a school or you would have it listed on your profile. Again it is people like you that keep TN down at the bottom in education. The state has people like me that want to come in and help clean up the mess people like you have made yet they continue to turn the other way. LMAO at you!
  12. in the state's eyes I am a certified teacher and highly qualified at that in two areas. Not sure where the interm or whatever term you are trying to use came from.
  13. WCP, just so you know, if you take time and read the laws which are supposed to be abided by, you will see, I am not required to pass those tests up front to be interviewed or hired for a job. I have to complete them in 3 years time, which I can and will do. People like you are the reason TN is so far behind in education. You are so worried about your job and not worried about doing the right thing and hiring the best candidate for the job. Instead you hire some half twit who couldn't motivate a flea to get off of a dog and your students are failing miserably during testing time and your school reflects that when the state puts out yearly statistics.
